  • Brewster Pool Sockeye ✅
My first time ever fishing for sockeye at the infamous Brewster Pool on the Columbia River was a HUGE success! Brewster pool is located near the town of Brewster, Wa and about 10 miles upstream from Wells Dam. With a boat launch close by near the Brewster RV Park it doesn’t take long to get fishing right after you launch! We started out our day by launching at 7:00 a little late to the party but that didn’t matter in the end lol. Everyone had already launched and was out there already. Once we pulled up to Brewster pool there was already at least 150 boats fishing and catching fish. So we dropped down our rods, 2 rods with sliders and 6 ounces of lead and one down rigger rod, all set around 25-30ft deep. We were Using 6inch silver dodgers, 12inches of leader to a pink hoochie and tipped off with a little procured pink shrimp. Slowly trolling the shoreline facing upstream at the 40ft line, within the first 15 minutes we had our first fish on and off just like that. People catching sockeye all around us then bam! We hit a double in the boat with another fish on just as I unhooked the other previous fish! With a good bite going on we quickly set our rods back in the water and it didn’t take us long to get out 3 limits of sockeye Salmon. Just like that we were off the water by 9am and headed back home! These sockeye cut beautifully with amazing colored meat still with a nice fat content! If you are going to fish for these sockeye, make sure to be aware of your surroundings, be prepared for anything and stay safe. There are a lot of boats and people fishing. The regulations for these sockeye are a minimum size of 12” and daily limit of 2. Happy fishing everyone!!

Way to go out there guys!! Nice to see how you’re having success. I like the way you’re teaching your little little brother to become a fantastic fisherman like you are. Give credit to your dad too even tho he forgot to hit record when you hooked that double 😂 keep it up guys .

That’s hilarious you saw tyler hicks out there. He actually lives in Brewster. I have ran into him in puget sound twice. Once in area 10 for coho and the next time in elliot bay for chinook last season. I ran into as well on the green during coho season
