Been a while since you made this but it's a good video. I've made this and it WAS TOO MUCH food. I ate it but like you--filled me up, up, up. Keep the canteen cooking coming, Mark.
Looks great! I’ve divided up a package of dehydrated mashed potatoes to add to some meals and that makes it keep me fuller longer. I find the packages on sale for less than a buck. 🇺🇸
That is a really interesting idea. I've read comments from people saying that they mixed those mashed into soups to thicken them. Thanks for commenting
Ive done the knorr rice with foil pack chicken. I boil my water, put the rice in a quart freezer bag and add the water and chicken. Stir it and drop it in a bag cozy. Done, tasty and steaming hot in 15 minutes. No milk no butter needed. Only dishes you have are youi fork and spoon, eat it right outta the freezer bag.
Always appreciate your canteen cup videos Mark. Great tool that canteen. I like mine too. I've got 2 different styles. The long handle one, like yours, is my favoite. 3rd View of this... Always worth reviewing your vids.
Told you bro those meal packs are good you can add just about what ever you wanted and and your camp tongs love that idea I got a set at my basecamp the come in handy that meal sure look good
Starkist chicken creations come in 2.6 ounce pouches. Walmart also has 2.6 ounce pouches of chicken. Of course if you have your trusty military issue church key you can always buy cans of chicken in 5 ounce cans.
Stand By Me should be seen by every man as rite of passage brother! One of my favorite movies growing up. If you have a hard to getting some dehydrated ground meat let me know. I can put some on the dehydrator and ship it to you.
With my luck, I'd get one of those neat small grills and leave it behind the first time I used it. So, I'll paint mine bright orange using heat resistant paint. Cheers!
Both the canteen and lid are part of the pathfinder set. www.selfrelianceoutfitters.com/collections/camping-cookware-outdoor-cooking/products/stainless-steel-canteen-cup-lid-set
I found that chicken at the grocery store. In the same aisle as tuna fish. The brand is Kroger.. I'd have to look to see if they're available online. Thanks for watching.
dartor100 its more central but there are hundreds near white pass ski resort, dog lake is a good jump off for some backpacking, close to the Idaho boarder is a little town called Asotin that has a nice trail, white buffs just south of ritzvil is a nice area from what I've heard, look up Washington Trail Association on Facebook and they can give you tons
This just pipped up in my playlist. Had not seen it before. Hey! Us chubby bastards need to stick together! Maybe we can start a club! The Chubby Bastards of the Bush!
Now you're cooking hiker food! You can also pour your boiling water into the Knorr package and not dirty your cup by letting the envelope rehydrate your food in the bag. A fun video and thanks for sharing - you made me hungry - must mean you cooked it right :-)
The knor rice dishes are not dehydrated. They are uncooked. If you just pour the hot water in the bag you'll end up with crunchy soup. Of course you can buy plenty of good dehydrated foods but they will cost you a little more than 88 cents a pack.
I enjoyed your video. I eat the knor products cause they are easy. Where's your location? Nice pines, I live in northern Mn. Thanks again for the video
It's easier to use a bullion cube with plain rice, plus a can of chicken.........or some spam. Use half a bullion cube, half a cup of rice, and one cup of water. That will give you a cup of rice with the chicken. Nice video, thanks for posting.
Mark, do you camp in the same place every time you shoot? That meal looked great. sounds like a fast running creek in the background. I have stocked my bob bag with Norre rice. They are cheap and have enough carbs to keep you fueled. Like seeing a heavier fellow out in the woods. Im much bigger than you and find some things a bit challenging. Thanks for the video.
Not the same place the same general area. i's an area that's an up for grabs primitive camping area. No water hook ups or power. Just a fire ring and wood off the ground. That background noise the freeway. They thought it would be a good idea to run it right through were I camp. lol Glad you're getting out there. Some things are a challenge.. but it's not a race to get there. Thanks for watching.
Nice meal i eat Knorr they are very good much less than mountain house ! were did ya get your grill at Mark ? the chicken really tops it off , great meal ! thats alot of food ! thanks for sharing atb john
Donny Pavolini Outdoors Thanks! I love day outings.. they give me a chance to test things out. That knife is the Battle Horse Knives Frontier First. Thanks for watching
For the milk, just bring a packet of dried milk. I also like to keep a few extra packets of butter that you get at fast food restaurants and bring those along with me. Thanks for the video and info. Cheers
That is a ton of food Mark! For me getting away from the refrigerator is the big motivation for getting outside. It doesn't always work but I suggest splitting the packets in half before you leave. and then take something else that is sealed encase it's not enough. Case in point yesterday, Saturday morning after spending the first night in a hammock, for breakfast I had split a MH granola & Blue berry packet (2 servings) before I left, as I was splitting it I thought this might not be enough, sure enough after putting the warm water in, it was like 4 mouthfuls, good thing I grabbed a Bandanna flavored oatmeal packet, Blue berry and Bandanna was amazing. You already practice it, adapt and keep moving. Will be watching for the next one! ooh btw I made the Chaga tea you sent, editing the video, hope to post it soon. atb Don
Don Milligan Nice! One thing I like about day outings is testing things out. I will be sure to split that in half next time. I made the same meal during my desert backpacking and didn't split it. I wasn't able to finish eating it all. This means I had food sitting around camp. Not good. Thanks as always for watching bro.
Lids for the canteen Cups have been available from various vendors on Amazon for years Why would you add more salt to food in a pouch that is already loaded with sodium ?
Sorry.. the maker of that grill is no longer making them. He had a website for a while but things came up in his personal life and had to close it down. Last time we talked he said he was going to make more.. but I haven't heard from him. Thanks for watching.

Lol. I think I would lose one too! Great idea of using bright colors to remind you it’s there

You might be able to find it here.

Love the cooking vids. Any suggestions on primitive camp areas on the eastern side of Wa state?
Not off the top of my head. Honestly.. I'd like to go over there more myself and do some exploring.

did you have problems with the knorr sticking to the bottom?
None at all. Thanks for watching
Lids for the canteen Cups have been available from various vendors on Amazon for years
Why would you add more salt to food in a pouch that is already loaded with sodium ?
True.. I've been seeing them more and more.
My last doctor visit my sodium levels were ok. So I add a little to my food.
Thanks for watching
I really like that grill. Can you share the contact info for the person that makes them?

hey man,I always wondered are those knorr sides really rice,or some sort of pasta?I likem too,and it sure beats ramon noodles.Good survival food!
It seems like rice to me. Interesting question though. Thanks for watching
Knorr makes both.Depends what flavour or sauce is in. ;-)
Boring
Can't please everyone.
And you have no videos of your own... shocker
