I feel your pain dude. I’m an upright bass player but I have really bad tendinitis due to the instrument. The last 3 years I’ve had to constantly take 5 months off of playing and then I start playing again and 2 months later it comes back. I have a degree in music (specifically jazz) but I can’t gig for long periods of time which has set me back a ton. It’s been such a struggle for me. Hate to hear you go through it to but it’s also nice to know I’m not alone //:

I had a similar experience with eating food, I developed chronic gout at the age of 19 and I'm always bombarded with people telling me, " I would just eat that stuff anyway" but nobody understands the pain. But life goes on and you learn to adapt to your new life
