ABOUT NAKSHATRAS:
'Vedic' astrology has a complex system of stars aka 'nakshatras' or 'lunar mansions' working behind the scenes of the 'rashis' that are further related to 'deities' and 'mantras' found in the 'Vedas'.
In this series, I will briefly discuss the energy of each 'nakshatra' every day, following the Moon through his journey across the sky around the Earth.
In each video I will talk briefly about the 'nakshatra', its energy, its significance and also how planetary placements here influence your life and what they guide is towards.
This video is about the nakshatra of 'Dhanishtha' which is the 23rd 'nakshatra' out of a total of 27 and what its energy is like.
ABOUT DHANISHTHA NAKSHATRA:
This is one lunar mansion which has a rich background story associated with it. (This one goes back to 'The Mahabharata'.)
You see, this 'nakshatra' is ruled by the twin influences of the 'devata': 'ashta-vaasus' on the one hand and Mars, its planetary ruler, on the other.
Now, the 'ashta vaasus' or the 'eight vaasus' are said to be the guardians/keepers of the secrets of desire fulfillment.
And Mars, as we all know him.. is the planet of discipline, focus, drive and action.
These two energies working together, shape the energy of this 'nakshatra' with a unique combination of ambition and focus.
The result therefore, is no doubt higly 'abundant', hence the name 'Dhanishtha' meaning wealthy.
You will often see powerful businessmen, bankers, entrepreneurs, beaureaucrats, lawyers and politicians with this 'nakshatra' prominent in some wat in their chart.
However, the energy of the 'vaasus' can be a tough one to master.. and with serious consequences in cases of indescretion. This is one aspect where awareness is needed of the pitfalls of 'desire' and how to overcome them.
