Because I knew someone who was also allergic to chocolate in 2nd grade and the little shit gave me chocolate! Therefore trying to kill me. I almost immediately went into anaphylactic shock- bro I’m lucky I’m alive rn low key 😭😭 I hate people who lie about allergies, like why?

I'm not allergic to chocolate however it causes me to breakout severely the next day and can upset my stomach. Different types of chocolate react differently. I typically just don't eat it unless I'm craving it that damn bad or my mom makes a special cake for some occasion. I'll deal with breaking out for that woman. People keep asking oh so your allergic and I have to explain no that isn't an allergy, just poor body chemistry. Similar to how some food causes ppl heartburn.
I'm allergic to Strawberries...I do occasionally eat Strawberry flavoured sweets and get an reaction because it has a vague "flavourings" as an ingredient...I also can't have peanuts which are easier to avoid

It's not even that they're doing it to be ignorant or malicious. People who have never lived with allergies just don't understand, but you know they're good when they at least make an effort to accommodate. I'm sorry to hear that happened to you, they should've planned around your allergy or at least given substitution for you.

Sure, I’ll prolly never truly be able to fully know what it’s like to have a gluten allergy and be second-guessing everything I eat (though I could try).
But contamination is a basic freaking concept. At that point, it’s not just a lack of effort that’s the problem, it’s also a lack of common sense.
Even if it's separated by icing or something, if half the cake has your allergen in it the whole damn cake has your allergen in it lol

😂 My brother is mildly allergic to chocolate. It causes him headaches. When he was still a child, he would constantly complain about having pain in his head. It took a doctor recommending my mom secretly write down anything he ate and note down every time he complained about headaches. The doctor went over the list and figured out the common ingredient in anything my brother ate that caused headaches was chocolate. My brother was upset about that revelation. He likes chocolate.

First, NEVER lie about allergies. That's why people with real allergies don't get the seriousness they should have.
