Part of the reason the game is so short is that you're supposed to play on multiple difficulties. To this day my proudest gaming achievement is beating Armstrong on Revengeance difficulty.
Main game twice (to really get the full experience) Sam dlc, Dog dlc, and then Sam DLC basically brings you to about 20 hours. Which in my opinion is the perfect amount of time for a game like this
@DiademAce at this point a entry level gaming pc could run it easily its pretty much the only way to play any game that was released during the 360/ps3 era that wasn't given a remaster at a higher resolution and 60fps
15:50 what's even more funny about this scene, Raiden goes Ripper mode for a split second. The fact that Bladewolf denied him got Raiden so pissed that Jack came out for a moment.
I will get the game as a present for Nikolaus. This is the 6th December. I am so excited! Metal Gear Rising changed my life, without ever being played by me! Its soundtrack helped me write my book, the characters too! I used them! The memes, theres many! And they are all wonderful! It is my *personal* game of the year (aside from Cyberpunk 2077) I use the soundtrack as outro for school video projects! I use it for other games! And now I will play the game without external soundtrack, because it is already perfect. And I am someone who LOVES to do campaigns again with a different difficulty (except Cyberpunk 2077, 138 hours in and I am STILL only in the Streetkid campaign, which I enjoy alot lemme tell you. And of course, Phantom Liberty is there too, with all its cooleness and DRIP BECAUSE HOLY FUCK THE HELMETS AND ARMOR GO HARD! Female V with german voice is my favorite female badass character. Disney, all you need is a women with long red hair, a black military armor, and a fucking epic red glowing katana)!
Have you played Astral Chain yet? It's an incredible action experience from Platinum Games on the Switch. I can send you a copy if you need it. It was originally supposed to be a medieval game with knights and horses, but they wisely instead set it in the future and made them cops. Highly recommended!!!
I spent two whole playthroughs on Normal grinding upgrades and health items, yet I STILL can't beat Armstrong. I've got the mother of all skill issues.
@@mohamedhussain7324 The main thing is when he heals. I know you're supposed to Blade Mode his back, but I can't get the angle right and he just gets right back up to full health. I basically have to do the fight three times over because of this. Plus, as mentioned in the video, the fucking debris slicing that I can't get down either.
@@ttaaccooss1 For the part where you go behind his back you can go directly behind his back activate ripper made so that your blade mode meter last longer and hit the right spot on his back. When he throws the pieces of Excelsus at you you can just slide to the side to avoid it.
This game is so dumb that it loops back around to being ridiculously good. To this day, I'm still floored by how amazing the OST and the technology behind the cutting mechanics that still floors me that it was done in 2013 on the Xbox 360's hardware. While there's a few world-based vocal songs that don't really stick with me, every single boss theme really deepens the experience, even if the villains do end up being stepping stones in the long run just to get the point of Rising's themes across. And, of course, when your game has characters so absurd yet thought-provoking like Raiden, Jetstream Sam, and Senator Armstrong that end up getting pushed to meme status, you know you have something special on your hands. Nanomachines, indeed.

Wasn’t it because the dev team didn’t get alot of time?
@@randomgamer625yes
In the main game or the Sam dlc?
@@mohamedhussain7324the main game of Metal Gear Rising, without cutscenes, in about 4-6 hours

We need a sequel NOW
Metal Gear Rising needs a PS5 Port.
Honestly a remaster would be nice, if Konami is willing to.
@@JDTheGamer123Wich they aren't
I wish they did cause I aint getting a ps3 or paying for ps premium just to play it😭

Jetstream Sam actually isn't a cyborg, but a human in an augmented battlesuit, that is just THAT good.
Technically his robot arm does make him a cyborg, but yeah, he's mostly human.
...Have you never played Astral Chain? Stuff must be right up your alley.
I second this
He did a video on it a while back
@@bizaster Odd that he doesn't mention it then, saying the Platinum hasn't made anything since.
@@Dharengo yeah that is pretty weird, especially with how good Astral Chain is. I even made a video on it myself lol
NANO MACHINES, SON!
we REALLY need a sequel
I thought you're going to put "holy fishpaste, its a guy" when raiden is discovered from the box

waaaah I'm in the end of the video, thanks for noticing me ram 😊
There actually is a dodge its x+a, its the main way to avoid unblockedable attacks
He's insane yeah but a name like Jack the Reaper doesn't sound sane either😂😂😂.
So cool how we get a free game with this soundtrack
My only complaint with the game is going from Abkhaz to Mexico just like that. No context whatsoever other than a rumor.
Can confirm, I was there
It has a dodge button, but you need to unlock it first (not a great idea, BTW).
This game feels like crack
well well another mgr video essay like and subscribe
Nice argument senator, why don't you back it up with a source😂
raiden is best girl
