We got into a fight about my wife picking a parking spot that was too close to our destination, whereas I wanted us to park about 50 feet away in the shade. I said after 14 years, I guess we just argue about anything. Then we laughed.

Nah. Having no routine/not seeing each other all the time helps a lot, but it's mostly the brain chemistry and novelty at the beginning. We routinely overestimate the conscious and underestimate the unconscious parts of our decision making.
