This lawsuit isn't against Kendrick it's against UMG for forcing the song in everybody's play next. This is about not allowing the labels to pick and choose what gets shown on streaming platforms. UMG has a large stake of ownership in Spotify, so it's insider trading in a sense. There have been times where I'm listening to Tool or System of a Down and that Kendrick song would always pop up and mess up the vibe. If I'm listening to R&B, that song would still find it's way in the mix. I personally never liked the song in general so I couldn't help but notice how much it was popping even after I hit the dislike arrow in hopes it would stop. I get that everyone hates Drake and wants to see him fail, but this lawsuit is actually extremely beneficial for the underground and independent artist because today it's harder to get ahead without a label who's in bed with a streaming platform.

In the future, I'd be happy to discuss this or any other legal issues with you guys. As an example, you insinuate that Drake is suing Kendrick over defamation. 1. Drake's filing is against UMG, UMG has filed to join Kendrick as a party to the action; 2. Drake didnt file a lawsuit, he filed what amounts to a request to have UMG preserve documents for potential future lawsuits, among which he names as a possibility a defamation claim. This does NOT mean he's actually filed a defamation suit, rather that he believes the documents in UMGs possession could potentially support a claim of defamation in the future.
The problem with botting is that major record labels have stock in the streaming services. They allow major artist to bot but punish independent artist when they bot or pay for promotion and refuse to pay you or they kick you off the platform. Y'all should cover that. This lawsuit isn't against Kendrick it's against UMG for forcing the song in everybody's play next. This is about not allowing the labels to pick and choose what gets shown on streaming platforms. UMG has a large stake of ownership in Spotify, so it's insider trading in a sense.
There have been times where I'm listening to Tool or System of a Down and that Kendrick song would always pop up and mess up the vibe. If I'm listening to R&B, that song would still find it's way in the mix. I personally never liked the song in general so I couldn't help but notice how much it was popping even after I hit the dislike arrow in hopes it would stop.
I get that everyone hates Drake and wants to see him fail, but this lawsuit is actually extremely beneficial for the underground and independent artist because today it's harder to get ahead without a label who's in bed with a streaming platform.

Drake didnt file a lawsuit, he filed what amounts to a request to have UMG preserve documents for potential future lawsuits, among which he names as a possibility a defamation claim. This does NOT mean he's actually filed a defamation suit, rather that he believes the documents in UMGs possession could potentially support a claim of defamation in the future.
