Weight room, hit it hard, at your size you need to be the fastest on the court, and your passes have to have smoke coming off them. Throw slow passes like that in the NBA and guys are going to be headed the other way for dunks. Stronger core, legs, arms, all of that will help your shot too because from three you are kinda flinging it right now. Work on your balance, your handle, you have to be able to change directions, accelerate, stop, with certainty you know exactly where the ball is and absolute control of your body and the ball.

@@kingkyahwell smaller guards have it they hardest they kinda gotta have to know how to do everything while other positions be having specific roles
@@kingkyahwatching a lot of videos about smaller guards on youtube. Op makes very valid points and you can get the same advice from a lot of coaches on youtube and also reddit community r/basketball and r/basketballadvice has a ton of helpful people there. Basically just online resources alone are good but actual coaches are just more helpful because of in person communication.

I just want to say it’s amazing that you filmed your experience that takes a lot vulnerability and courage. For the record, the staff saying you can’t ask questions about a drill but to figure it out is absurd to me lol I’m familiar with these environments and the pressure they impress on you is tough so kudos to you! 👏🏽

@@IsDatJC Asking questions is a sign of paying attention as well though lol not everyone has the same level of comprehension. As for drill knowledge that’s subjective to the coaching staff you had not the player fault if they weren’t familiar with the drills 🤷🏽♀️ but I understand what you mean
That's not what he said though. He said don't ask a million questions. You are the kind of person he's talking about, the ones that can't listen properly and then open their mouths from a point of ignorance.
Its crazy how hard it is to make it. Even if you have the right size for your nba position, thousands upon thousands of former college players can practice, work hard their entire life and still not come close to making it to the nba. Most of these guys played in college and whatever they did there means nothing if you cant outshine someone else.
With the amount the nba makes they can probably add more teams

I felt Matt played pretty well. There were some plays where he was a little bit passive, and in some of one v one drills. He was taking tough shots that could’ve been easier shots. Such as pulling up because of a lot of players were sagging. Besides that he made good decisions knocked his shots down. Keep going brother
needs to get more comfortable with open jumpers but he was making good reads
@@user-hh4yv7ur7syea, if it’s late coverage, you should be pulling it. Make the defender play up on you, then you can dribble them.

You have good potenial man. You have to get sharper though.. I played with a lot of G league guys before, and they are a hair behind the NBA guys.. At your height you game has to be close to perfection. Take this as a learning experience, I think you have a good chance of playing Pro,, even if its not in the US, overseas could be a option.

Love watching these, it gives you a full understanding of why certain guys never make it.(not talking about Matt, he did very well and showed a lot of passion)
There will always be a point where someone can never get any better no matter how hard they try or practice, everyone has a limit. The g league is still the 1% of the 1% of the 1%. A ton of guys can never even make it to their high school jv team. I read somewhere that just to get into a d3 basketball team, its like 1 out of 100 high school varsity players.

The Magic! In 1987 I won the AAU National 3 point contest in Seattle Washington. Curly Neal from the Harlem Globetrotters was the guest speaker at the openimg Ceremonies. He watch me win vs 150 competiters. My team name was the SBA Orlando Magic. Curly Neal then put in the name in 1988 for the expansion team from orlando. It made top 3 names, then voted on by the community. Of course it won, thats how the team got its name. Your Welcome Orlando, lol
