Growing up in the church...i can honestly say i actually went to a church where we started at 11:30am and did not dismiss until almost 5:37pm. True story, i was 8 years old and I'll never get that 6 hrs and 7mins back. Mind you that was morning service and then wanted to have an evening service at 8pm....my mother was like "nope". She's a pastor now and don't hold for at least an hour and a half.
I remember when we moved to the South they got about 3 services on Sunday. Time you leave it's Monday morning. 😅😅😂😂

My friends mum went out with a black guy from Greenham common airbase. He took her to church one sunday, and the pastor said we have a new person in the congregation can anybody see them. She was the only white person there and they got her to stand up it was so funny, but she said that her experience was wonderful as everyone accepted her and took her in as one of there own much respect. lol.im black and an elderly Italian lady I know asked me to go with her to her catholic church.Most black ppl know how boring a catholic church can be n how creepy far as the eerie singing from movies we have watched. So I asked her how long was service going to be see said 10 to 15 minutes tops.So I thought no way.Sure enough we were getting back in the car 15 minutes after going in the church.No member opened their bible they kept quiet so they could get out of there.lol

I’m Black, but I used to hate going to church. My dad was a devout Baptist, and my mom avoided traditional and mainstream Christianity. I followed after my mom, as my mom knew more about the Bible than the pastor of my dad’s church.

Her friends the deaconesses would lay me down
and let me lay my head on their lap
I would pretend sleep and hear them gossiping
about the church lady that slept with everyone
and how such in such shouldn't wear this
