This man is preaching so much truth!!!!! I surrendered to God and he gave me a husband I would've never looked twice at in that way! But I trusted God knew who he designed for me when I asked him to send 'the one' he has for me. I'm in love with a man who's in love with a woman that we're both in love with God first!

Thank you for this word! Many are stuck in criticism on missing the scripture but are you missing the message? Of course we should always go back to the word for ourselves, but what you take from the word one time you read it to what it will speak to you a second or third time can change. Gods word is always speaking always moving. This message just opened my eyes to a different perspective. I always viewed the story of Leah and Rachael from what the church has always preached and I believe God is showing us more than the traditional religious views that sometimes we need to break free from just like the Pharisees. In the end discernment and relationships with God is key to knowing what is for you to take out of this message and what is His truth. You may not agree with all he said or how he preached it but there definitely still is something to take from this message. Well I know for me God spoke and hit some points that I needed to acknowledge for myself.

Woooooooow!!!! You just took me out. This is a totally different perspective on Jacob, Leah and Rachel. I've always heard Rachel was THE choice and Leah, along with her father, stole what was Rachel's. HOWEVER!! Rachel was Jacob's choice, but Leah was THE FATHER'S choice (natural and spiritual). In addition, I recall reading that Rachel was not buried with Jacob, but Leah was, but I never put thought into why---the drama, the accusation, conflict. And you are right, there is nothing in scripture that says Leah was drama. She was compliant, submissive, peaceful and obviously, satisfying. Crazy! What a revelation!
Leah was NOT God's choice. God never uses or motivates someone to sin to bring about His will. Jacob's marriage to Leah was from the inception marred by deceit and trickery, .Jacob entered an agreement in good faith to work 7 years for Rachael. We all know what happened. When people go against God's will (Jonah, Pharaoh, David, Job's friends) we see the results and it's not good. Interestingly despite Jacob's horrible treatment of Leah and her sons God does not rebuke or chastise him but acts in a third party manner working things out behind the scenes.

We don't know specifically why Jacob didn't want Leah but the Bible does allude to her being not as attractive as Racheal. The does not imply that she was ugly but it could. IF God wanted Jacob to marry Leah he would have made her attractive to him and evidenced by his treatment of her and her children he was definitely not attracted to her nor probably even liked her. Saying that she was God's choice is reading lots into the Bible that is not there. IT is just an attempt by feminist theology to push guys to settle for less than attractive gals (when women don't do that in regards to what attracts them to men) and that's why men are fleeing the church in droves these days. Don't forget that Jacob tricked and decieved his brother out of his birthright and now he was tricked and decieved bc of Leah's birthright. Shalom men of God (Pastors Robert Madu and Manny Arango) and many blessings to you all, to your beautiful wives and families (personal/ministry). I do come to you both in peace and in regard to the teaching of Genesis 29, starting with verse 17. No disrespect in any way to any of you, but this is one of the most misinterpreted verses of scripture along with a few others (verse 17). It is easy for us to teach what has been passed down unto us through the preaching and teaching of others, but it is vital and important for us to be careful with that method of movement. Because we can mislead people into embracing a form of thinking that is built to function around a religious mindset and one that supports a biased and partial insight on how we view the value of people who are created in the image of The LORD God. When The LORD describes any one in His kingdom through their physicality, He does so with an intimate language. The LORD described the beauty of Leah through the language and build of her eyes. The LORD is not confined to one level of language when speaking about the beauty in His own people. Verse 17 says that Leah was "tender eyed" not unattractive or ugly. To be tender eyed means to have eyes that are loving, caring, intimate, and delicate. This has nothing to do with a person having eyes that are lazy or misaligned. Leah was a very affectionate woman and it was visible in her eyes. Her eyes spoke of how she was a gentle and caring woman. She was compassionate and sensitive. Jacob did not pay attention to that because he was more in tune with the physical and external build of the woman. He was into Rachel because of her external beauty, not her internal beauty. And scripture states that The LORD saw that Leah was hated, which moved Him to open her womb. The LORD saw the biased behavior that was shown to Leah. Jacob did not see that the internal make up of the woman is much more important than the external. There is nothing wrong with a man wanting a woman who is beautiful. But the internal beauty will always outlast the external. Leah's eyes will still speak of the beauty of God's intimate love when Rachel's external beauty begins to fade. I bring an olive branch unto you men of The Most High God. I did not come here to offend you. But we do need to help each other when it comes to the interpretation of the scriptures. We can miss out on a lot of valid and life changing revelation when we do not help each other see God's beautiful breath (His Word) for what it truly is. This is probably one of the best messages I have heard on relationships lately. I know it was last year when Pastor Manny spoke, yet, this hit me like a ton of bricks.
Just jumping in with some extra bible facts: Rachel didn't steal the idols because she wanted to worship them. (only). In that area idols were the same as a will, meaning when Laban passed away she could go and claim everything as she had the will and rights to his property. (This is why Laban was so upset). Also - it showed that Rachel placed more confidence in Her natural father and not so much in the God of Jacob. (meaning she just wanted a backup plan).
According to some Jewish writings, Laban was an Idol worshipper so Rachel stole the idols to prevent him from inquiring from them where Jacob and his wives had fled to.
Always loved this story. Too many corny jokes for me, but I understand how the millennial generation enjoy this. He definitely knows the story and so I respect his word knowledge.
One more intimate thing if it's ok. If there are those who are struggling to believe the truth about Leah. We have to remember that in scripture it also states how The LORD is not partial to others (Acts 10:34; Romans 2:11). And for Him to shame or describe the physical appearance of Leah in an undesirable way would be a demonstration of showing partiality; which would make The LORD a hypocrite in His stature when we know He is not a hypocrite. But we can become hypocrites if not careful. To shame the appearance of Leah would be a demonstration of The LORD giving an "okay" for people to show biased behavior towards others. He is love, which means that such behavior would go against His character and holiness, which also means it goes against our design and kingdom build as well. Amen 🙏
I do agree with this part. When I was listening, I was like "but I know beautiful people with all kinds of eye erm discrepancies." But please bear in mind that he took it to extreme sides of the spectrum to highlight how meaningful it was that Jacob chose to be buried with Leah. The Bible doesn't say she was ugly, but the sisters *were* compared, & reading b/w the lines, it IS clear that her own father didn't believe she'd ever marry w/o his manipulating Jacob. Also, God definitely loved Leah b/c he opened her womb & wanted to bless her. Judging appearances or not, Leah was Biblically unwanted by Jacob, yet she grew to find love & favor. That's the angle he was playing. God looks at the heart, yes? Jacob initially looked at the outward appearance.

@@briannayu She was buried in the family vault along with the other progenitors. It was a matter of convenience and being in close proximity to the tomb,. Rachael was buried in haste because she died during the journey. There is no evidence that she found favor with Jacob or was loved by him.

In spite of the fact Leah was a baby factory Jacob didn’t like her and treated her grown sons as second class family members. Yes she was buried in the family tomb but I guess Jacob may have thought that was the least he could do after treating her like garbage for so many years. Leah was unattractive. I’ve heard many pastors council young people and most would concede that if there is not a mutual physical attraction they should not get married in hopes that it might occur later.

It's really important to preach or teach from the Bible what theological scholars have already agreed on. As boring as it may be , the privilege of carrying the Word to the people is the most serious of all the callings and one has to be very disciplined and careful about it. Better to say less than to say more than the text really supports.
Overall, the message is very good. We need to understand that Destiny is only used once in scripture (Isaiah 65:11) and it isn't spoken of well. In fact, those who follow Destiny (Is 65:12-14... he's talking to God's people here) will be brought down. Too often, we turn the spotlight off of God and onto our selves... what are the specific plans He created for us, our purpose and destiny. Purpose is used the same as destiny. If it's studied out, it means "Welfare, well-being, etc." rather than some prestigious assignment. Our spotlights should be on Him and only Him. We serve His purposes, for His good pleasure (Is 53;10, Phil 2:13). And that plan can change from day to day. This 'plan,' a destiny, a purpose, is not one mapped out for us individually because that would mean we have no free will, and we do. And, let me tell you, those who do have a true calling will tell you it is not fun. It's a hard, hard, walk. The Moses', Daniels, and Paul's, will tell you it's not about the walk here on earth, a walk they often despaired in because it was so difficult, it's all about the goal of honoring our God, our Jesus, here on earth so that we are able to honor Him there in eternity.
I think that Jacob was deceived with Leah because he and his mother stole Esau's first born right. And Leah was older than Rachel. And Laban said that it is not a custom for the younger sibling to marry before the older one. But it ended up as a good thing because Esau sold his birth right and Leah was a good wife, and maybe a better wife than Rachel.
Its weird how Bible messages has to be super portrait it the way this pastor does in a message in order for adults to understand better like, I heard these stories when I was little in a simple way we would understand. The other kids and I understood easily that Rachel was a toxic woman so as Jacod when he 1st started to steal his brother's birth right. And just like the pastor reveals it, thats also how we understood it. Now reading adults comments, ''realizing" the story as if they couldnt by themselves makes me wonder how their church teach them the Bible in general.
I'm not sure making Rachel look bad and calling her names is what the Bible truly says about her....but I guess that's this Pastor's interpretation of the text.
Making her look bad? Did she not feel jealous of her sister’s ability to govern birth? Did she not steal her Father’s gods? What did this man make up? Rachel made herself look bad. Leah, wanted to be loved. That’s all she ever wanted.
“And he charged them, and said unto them, I am to be gathered unto my people: bury me with my fathers in the cave that is in the field of Ephron the Hittite, in the cave that is in the field of Machpelah, which is before Mamre, in the land of Canaan, which Abraham bought with the field of Ephron the Hittite for a possession of a buryingplace. There they buried Abraham and Sarah his wife; there they buried Isaac and Rebekah his wife; and there I buried Leah.” Genesis 49:29-31 KJV With all due respect, this scripture would suggest that Jacob simply requested to be buried at the gravesite that he purchased for his family. And Genesis 35:1 and the actual verses where Rachel died Genesis 35:16-19 shows that Jacob was in the middle of traveling when Rachel died which would suggest that is why she was not buried in the family tomb.

I do come to you both in peace and in regard to the teaching of Genesis 29, starting with verse 17.
No disrespect in any way to any of you, but this is one of the most misinterpreted verses of scripture along with a few others (verse 17).
It is easy for us to teach what has been passed down unto us through the preaching and teaching of others, but it is vital and important for us to be careful with that method of movement. Because we can mislead people into embracing a form of thinking that is built to function around a religious mindset and one that supports a biased and partial insight on how we view the value of people who are created in the image of The LORD God.
When The LORD describes any one in His kingdom through their physicality, He does so with an intimate language. The LORD described the beauty of Leah through the language and build of her eyes. The LORD is not confined to one level of language when speaking about the beauty in His own people.
Verse 17 says that Leah was "tender eyed" not unattractive or ugly.
To be tender eyed means to have eyes that are loving, caring, intimate, and delicate.
This has nothing to do with a person having eyes that are lazy or misaligned.
Leah was a very affectionate woman and it was visible in her eyes. Her eyes spoke of how she was a gentle and caring woman. She was compassionate and sensitive.
Jacob did not pay attention to that because he was more in tune with the physical and external build of the woman. He was into Rachel because of her external beauty, not her internal beauty.
And scripture states that The LORD saw that Leah was hated, which moved Him to open her womb. The LORD saw the biased behavior that was shown to Leah. Jacob did not see that the internal make up of the woman is much more important than the external. There is nothing wrong with a man wanting a woman who is beautiful. But the internal beauty will always outlast the external. Leah's eyes will still speak of the beauty of God's intimate love when Rachel's external beauty begins to fade.
I bring an olive branch unto you men of The Most High God. I did not come here to offend you. But we do need to help each other when it comes to the interpretation of the scriptures. We can miss out on a lot of valid and life changing revelation when we do not help each other see God's beautiful breath (His Word) for what it truly is. Shalom unto you all and have a beautiful and peaceful week.

Just jumping in with some extra bible facts: Rachel didn't steal the idols because she wanted to worship them. (only). In that area idols were the same as a will, meaning when Laban passed away she could go and claim everything as she had the will and rights to his property. (This is why Laban was so upset). Also - it showed that Rachel placed more confidence in Her natural father and not so much in the God of Jacob. (meaning she just wanted a backup plan).
According to some Jewish writings, Laban was an Idol worshipper so Rachel stole the idols to prevent him from inquiring from them where Jacob and his wives had fled to.
Don’t let facts get in the way of feminized Christianity.

One more intimate thing if it's ok. If there are those who are struggling to believe the truth about Leah. We have to remember that in scripture it also states how The LORD is not partial to others (Acts 10:34; Romans 2:11). And for Him to shame or describe the physical appearance of Leah in an undesirable way would be a demonstration of showing partiality; which would make The LORD a hypocrite in His stature when we know He is not a hypocrite. But we can become hypocrites if not careful.
To shame the appearance of Leah would be a demonstration of The LORD giving an "okay" for people to show biased behavior towards others. He is love, which means that such behavior would go against His character and holiness, which also means it goes against our design and kingdom build as well. Amen 🙏
I do agree with this part. When I was listening, I was like "but I know beautiful people with all kinds of eye erm discrepancies." But please bear in mind that he took it to extreme sides of the spectrum to highlight how meaningful it was that Jacob chose to be buried with Leah. The Bible doesn't say she was ugly, but the sisters *were* compared, & reading b/w the lines, it IS clear that her own father didn't believe she'd ever marry w/o his manipulating Jacob. Also, God definitely loved Leah b/c he opened her womb & wanted to bless her. Judging appearances or not, Leah was Biblically unwanted by Jacob, yet she grew to find love & favor. That's the angle he was playing. God looks at the heart, yes? Jacob initially looked at the outward appearance.

He said in Genesis 29:26 that customary the first born was given in marriage first before the younger. As for everything else you have shared I do understand it clearly. The fact that Leah being the older sister went through the 7 years of Jacob working for Rachael without any potential suitors speaks volumes.
@@briannayu She was buried in the family vault along with the other progenitors. It was a matter of convenience and being in close proximity to the tomb,. Rachael was buried in haste because she died during the journey. There is no evidence that she found favor with Jacob or was loved by him.

In spite of the fact Leah was a baby factory Jacob didn’t like her and treated her grown sons as second class family members. Yes she was buried in the family tomb but I guess Jacob may have thought that was the least he could do after treating her like garbage for so many years. Leah was unattractive. I’ve heard many pastors council young people and most would concede that if there is not a mutual physical attraction they should not get married in hopes that it might occur later.

@@CodyCole80 Then why after 7 years of toil for Rachael Laban had to foist her off on Jacob? She had no suitors. She was unattractive. Not rocket science.

It's really important to preach or teach from the Bible what theological scholars have already agreed on. As boring as it may be , the privilege of carrying the Word to the people is the most serious of all the callings and one has to be very disciplined and careful about it. So guys should marry women who are unattractive because a pastor preaching feminist Christianity says so?
Overall, the message is very good. We need to understand that Destiny is only used once in scripture (Isaiah 65:11) and it isn't spoken of well. In fact, those who follow Destiny (Is 65:12-14... he's talking to God's people here) will be brought down. Too often, we turn the spotlight off of God and onto our selves... what are the specific plans He created for us, our purpose and destiny. Purpose is used the same as destiny. If it's studied out, it means "Welfare, well-being, etc." rather than some prestigious assignment.
Our spotlights should be on Him and only Him. We serve His purposes, for His good pleasure (Is 53;10, Phil 2:13). And that plan can change from day to day. This 'plan,' a destiny, a purpose, is not one mapped out for us individually because that would mean we have no free will, and we do. And, let me tell you, those who do have a true calling will tell you it is not fun. It's a hard, hard, walk. The Moses', Daniels, and Paul's, will tell you it's not about the walk here on earth, a walk they often despaired in because it was so difficult, it's all about the goal of honoring our God, our Jesus, here on earth so that we are able to honor Him there in eternity.

I think that Jacob was deceived with Leah because he and his mother stole Esau's first born right. And Leah was older than Rachel. And Laban said that it is not a custom for the younger sibling to marry before the older one. But it ended up as a good thing because Esau sold his birth right and Leah was a good wife, and maybe a better wife than Rachel.
Its weird how Bible messages has to be super portrait it the way this pastor does in a message in order for adults to understand better like, I heard these stories when I was little in a simple way we would understand. The other kids and I understood easily that Rachel was a toxic woman so as Jacod when he 1st started to steal his brother's birth right. And just like the pastor reveals it, thats also how we understood it. Now reading adults comments, ''realizing" the story as if they couldnt by themselves makes me wonder how their church teach them the Bible in general.

I'm not sure making Rachel look bad and calling her names is what the Bible truly says about her....but I guess that's this Pastor's interpretation of the text.

Making her look bad? Did she not feel jealous of her sister’s ability to govern birth? Did she not steal her Father’s gods? What did this man make up? Rachel made herself look bad. Leah, wanted to be loved. That’s all she ever wanted.
“And he charged them, and said unto them, I am to be gathered unto my people: bury me with my fathers in the cave that is in the field of Ephron the Hittite, in the cave that is in the field of Machpelah, which is before Mamre, in the land of Canaan, which Abraham bought with the field of Ephron the Hittite for a possession of a buryingplace. There they buried Abraham and Sarah his wife; there they buried Isaac and Rebekah his wife; and there I buried Leah.”
Genesis 49:29-31 KJV
With all due respect, this scripture would suggest that Jacob simply requested to be buried at the gravesite that he purchased for his family. And Genesis 35:1 and the actual verses where Rachel died Genesis 35:16-19 shows that Jacob was in the middle of traveling when Rachel died which would suggest that is why she was not buried in the family tomb.
Can’t let biblical truths get in the way of a feminized message.
