THIS LEGENDARY WOMAN can sing her behind off!! Her voice is HEAVENLY...she takes you on "the wings of a Dove", swooping here! Swirling there! She weaves, and bob with her voice! Y'all think Mariah Carey can sign HIGH notes, THIS WOMAN will WEAVE a WEB around Mariah! I LOVE Ms. Barrett Porter!! 92!!! WOW!
This is still my favorite interview of all the ones you’ve done so far! Mama Porter is living history! And she’s got “the gift” of song. Some of us can’t hit those notes standing, and this lovely lady just did it seated - in her 90s.
That Barrett Sound. She and grandmother said those exact same words and thoughts. "I don't now why the Lord allows me to live so long." My grandmother lived to be 103 and was oldest of all of her siblings. She outlived everyone that she knew except her immediate family. She was thankful and greatful especially that her last days were her best day. I send love and say the same to Mother Barrett. Be Blessd

Oh man Eric you've done it again what a wonderful interview with Miss Rodessa and her daughter . I love them Barrett Sisters their music has brought me through some of the darkest days of my life and given me the strength to go on . Thank you so much for invaluable work you're are doing . I wish you'd been around in the sixties and seventies doing gospel music's golden era to interview those gospel giants before they passed . God bless you young brother keep up the fine work you're doing .
Thank you so much aunt Rodessa is always on my mind because I knew that she was the only one left of the Barrett sisters l tell you the Barrett sisters were in a catagory all by themselves the most unique voices that l had ever witness of their age she is so beautiful her sisters were beautiful women it an honor and a privilege to see her still singing and getting around any nobody God but God take care auntie she and her sisters were everybody's auntie's love to you and the rest of your sister's families.
