- What began as many isolated projects by The Conservation Foundation and other local open space partners has connected over time into a rich tapestry of preserved nearby nature and people who live within and love it.
I saw that you have removed dams in the dupage watershed. Do you have any plans to help remove the dams on the Fox river?
We host river clean-ups and focus on protecting land along the Fox, but we do not coordinate the watershed group there. The Fox River Study Group works to improve water quality in the Fox, and dam removal is a key piece of that. I believe they are considering or planning dam removals on the Fox, but it is a very complex process, involving a lot of stakeholders with different interests. A couple of our dam removal projects have taken decades to finally go through. We're hopeful dam removals will happen on the Fox in due time!
