That’s SO cool to hear Heather! Though I will say what I say to everyone, pics or it didn’t happen, haha. Can you send some pictures over to hello@farmmarketingsolutions.com so I can show them on the TH-cam channel at the end of a video?
Glad you feel that way Stephanie. Remember, I may not always be 100% accurate but I try my best. If you’re going to take action off of something I mention do some further research first. Good to be back though.
It feels good to be back. I had some writers’ block and I wanted to be a good father and husband. I’m finding the new balance and I already have a couple of weeks of video shot.
How dare you feed someone a Purdue chicken! You should be ashamed of yourself. You put innocent lives at risk! Love your work John! I swear by your tractor design. I’ve built 6 of them since buying your book. I really value your transparency! That’s hard to come by. Thank you.
I keep the home page of the FarmMarketingSolutions.com website updated with what I am doing. If I ever go silent and you don’t see me check there first. Though I will be better in the future about letting people know when I need a break.
Fun fact. Amprolium isn't an antibiotic so the label can have a huge "Antibiotic free!" label splashed across it but they still received the standard medicated starter. Just marketing.
I would be interested in seeing a taste test between the fast grown Cornish Cross with the slow grown Red Rangers. Pasture raised is superior in more ways than just taste, but the best chicken is what we are trying to produce.
You’re right there. There are always trade offs. There debate even in the pastured poultry community on which is the better bird. There are pros and cons to both the red rangers and the Cornish cross. That’s a good idea though.
Hey Joyce thanks for sharing! I got into agriculture precisely for the health benefits. There’s a certain quality of life that I expect for myself and my livestock.
I was rediscovering the balance of life having added another kid to the mix. Two kids and my wife and I work full time aside from making videos. I needed some time to figure stuff out and be a supportive family member.
Welcome back John! Long time no see...4 months! I know you don't have time to put out cinema quality videos but just wear a go pro on your head and go about farm chores or brewery chores like a vlog every now and then so we can see how the farm is going. I have seen dozens of documentary type videos that show people selling stuff at farmer's markets that they lie about growing themselves and they just go down to the docks and buy crates of veggies from god knows where and resell as organic and undercut real farmers. I feel that Perdue and Tyson are like those farmer's market scammers.
I have some of those GoPro videos shot. I just need to do voice overs. I want to cover a lot of “farm marketing solutions” this year so that we all are better at either reading or creating labels, marketing materials, social media posts, website content, etc... The more we all know and are aware of the better off we are going to be.
Haha, glad to be back. Though despite what Andrew might have posted I think you were first. Personally it’s weird to me to be in a place where people are putting “first” in my comments. I just love that you’re all here sharing some info, learning about farming, and growing the community.
@@farmmarketing I learned a lot last year. Did some great runs of chickens in your tractor design (after some nightmare calculations from inch to cm) Loving the design and functionality of the chicken houses, very practical, even in my semi high wind area. Happy to see more videos about them or the pigs. Learning small and big things every video. Thanks for the good work John.
I liked it. As an old man, I caution you to lose the weight as soon as possible. Then figure out why you gained weight, and fix that as soon as possible. Treat yourself as well as you treat your animals.
Great feedback Amber. Never hesitate to offer some constructive criticism. You should have seen the four takes before this one, they were longer. I try to keep it short but there’s a fair amount of ground I want to cover. It’s a balance. Thanks for sticking with it.
Dude you can talk all day about what makes it better easier power duped into by an inferior product when all that matters in today's day and age is does it taste good and how cheap can I get it that's it nothing else that's reality that's living in today's society raising a family
That’s both true and untrue I would say. There are a growing number of people who are becoming further educated about their food, and they are going to make the investment in both time and price to find a suitable alternative to their normal fare. I try to make content that covers a fair amount of ground and hits a few demographics. It’s a balance putting it all together.
This is a very false representation of a commercial farm and just flat out lies. You can’t really compare your product to a commercial facility that cost about 3 million dollars that is heated and cooled. attacking people in the same industry is pretty sickening
So crazy how John can raise a bird without 3 million dollar barns that taste better!!! this should be a crime😂😂😂 one question is have you even ate a pasturebird or are you just pulling this out of your butt (No Offense) but get a life
Please keep eating there chicken, and when you pick some up dont forget to swing by the pharmacy to get your meds to keep you alive to buy more. Jesus loves you
Let’s keep this nice in the comment section please, no matter what your opinion. The current state of affairs is that pastured poultry does in fact produce a superior product. However, there are not enough pastured producers to make a dent in demand. That is the mission of Farm Marketing Solutions and hopefully of this community. Take a look at the data, analyze the facts, make educated decisions, and then take action based off of what is better for people, animals, and our planet. There’s lessons to be gained from all sides.
I think it’s disturbing that you can’t even see the product in the Perdue bag
John’s back and “still feeling good”.
Oh so good!
I didn't understand this comment until @9:30 HILARIOUS
Our Suscovich chicken tractor is on it's second batch of birds for our KY homestead ! Thanks for being so helpful and inspiring via these videos.

Good to be back, will do!
I was aboot to send a search party out for you.
Ha, good luck finding me, I trained as a ninja and I own a lot of black clothing. I blend in with the night.
I like the new format and perspective. Lots of things to ponder. Thanks Buddy!
Awesome to have you back!
Awesome to be back Paul.
Nice to see you back!
Good to be back Pierre!
I was so worried hadn't seen you in a while. Welcome back to us both. Been a while. I can't wait to catch up.

The only thing I think you missed is in the package the Green finger handles..... It is a tye into the all-mighty Green movement.

Aww shucks, thanks
I loved this video. It was so helpful. I learned a great deal! ~Smile!
Ciecie your comments always make me smile. Thanks for watching and for sticking with me.
great info. Thanks
Do you have to put the nutritional information on your labels when you sell your chickens?
I am more concerned with the healthy benefits. Thanks so much for sharing. I shared and I'm passionate about healthy quality of life.
Hey Joyce thanks for sharing! I got into agriculture precisely for the health benefits. There’s a certain quality of life that I expect for myself and my livestock.
15:42 Can't stop thinking about Tommy Boy selling brake pads!!!
That is what was going through my head, but I didn’t want to go on a rant about how much I love Tommy Boy the movie.
Great info, but where have you been the last few months???
I was rediscovering the balance of life having added another kid to the mix. Two kids and my wife and I work full time aside from making videos. I needed some time to figure stuff out and be a supportive family member.
He's alive!!!!
It’s true
Welcome back!
Thanks Chris!
How is your desk level but your walls look like your going down in the titanic?

John how can I buy the shirt?
he does exist!
Haha, like that M&M commercial with Santa. “They do exist.” Yeah, I’m still here, just had to sort life out and be a good father and husband.
@@farmmarketing I've been there! I've drank a few Kent Falls beers in your memory until you returned!

Hi john good to see you.
Can we give the 1-800 number a call and see what old Jim Purdue's up to.🙂
You’re more than welcome to try it. Maybe I’ll give it a call and see what the experience is like.
They have you cook it in the plastic bag so the moisture stays in the dry chicken they're selling you.
The "all vegetarian diet" claim I think is partly to distance themselves from the unethical production of fish meal...
The only thing Americans fear more than death is inconvenience.
There some truth to that.
First!!! Hi 👋 John!
Howdy
