I’m from north fayette the township right next to oakdale an it’s been an active state of emergency down their since the storms began this afternoon around 2. It’s such a small town once it gets flooded nobody going anywhere
If Oakdale has major flooding like this every few years, is there a way to predict it and mitigate some damage? Flooding is only going to get worse as our climate continues to change, there HAS to be some kind of engineering solution for this if other flood-prone cities can pull it off.
So it used to have to be a hurricane to flood Oakdale. Ivan and Ida both caused extensive damage. Now just a hard rain will do it. Unfortunate.
