He is our greatest living master. I’ve heard this piece a ton. And I’ve taught this piece a ton. NO ONE is as intentionally expressive TO THE INTENTION OF THE MUSIC ITSELF, than this guy. Throughout his whole career he takes pieces others are famous for and says “THIS is this pieces’ meaning.”
Perhaps some of the finest guitar playing I have ever seen . Such variety of tone colours , range of dynamics with exquisite phrasing. Mesmerising performance . A gift from this great master to aspiring guitarists by demonstrating what can actually be achieved with a relatively simple guitar study.

I think they must be so daunted by his confident and consistent artistry that they can't help but find something to degrade in it. He's a great artist and we are so lucky to have him. I saw Andres Segovia a couple of years before he passed, and he literally stopped playing 3 times from the audience coughs. (Of course, it was the late 70s and half the world was still smoking.)
La guitarra es como un miembro más de su cuerpo y la mueve con naturalidad, por otra parte, no había escuchado este estudio a ese tempo, lo que me indica que Sor puede ser muy romántico según se interprete. Grande el Maestro Yamashita.
As a fingerpicking Folk guitarist, I can't play any of these classical pieces. But, I listen, I enjoy, and I respect, the sheer mind blowing ability of guitarists such as Aynur.
He’s like the Tommy Emmanuel of classical guitar! When he moves the guitar in and away from the center, gravity of his body, he’s actually using the airspace between the back of the guitar and his stomach to change, ever so subtly, the EQ of the music. He’s not playing the guitar with his hands, he’s playing his guitar with his entire body
um, maybe I'm missing the joke, but he has 83 solo CDs and 96 recordings in total, roughly, there are more. Spanning the last 40 years, he's the most recorded classical guitarist in history. Short of recording him going to the toilet, I'm not sure what more Japan can do.
He was criticised when he first arrived on the scene. They hadn't seen him play and thought he was taking his arrangements and playing in studios. Probably the greatest classical guitarist to live but dismissed and ridiculed for years. Enjoy

Much better than the likes of Segovia! What a musical style, full of emotion, musicality, suspense and drama! Truly he is able to take these details and weave an ongoing story - and not just throw you with a bunch of nonsensical large blot of ink as many guitar purist from the outdated Spanish Romantic school tends to do!
With the age he downsided his virtuosity, became really transcendental. Wonderful rubato, colorful register and wide range of dynamic. I don't like the sound of his guitar so much, more a neutral tool. I miss the wooden element in the tone. He is also fighting with the intonation, a lot of shrill(?) tones, nervous tuning.
