This team is doing literally everything right. Lester doesn't have his best stuff, he still battles for 5 innings and holds them at 4. Two bench players filling in for the day and they combine for 4 RBI. The defense has a rare 2 error game, but they make up for it by making 2 huge double plays in back to back innings.
This team is special. I don't care how this season ends, I got to watch history. This club has a bright future.
Imagine getting caught in a run-down between 2nd and third base, between the catcher and center fielder!

I absolutely agree with everything stated here. Especially with all the injuries we had this year, and the down months, this club could have easily gave up. They kept competing and have now made history. As much as I want a championship, hopefully they keep it at one game at a time and just keep on doing what they have been doing. Amazing season man.

That was one of the most well executed pickles I've ever seen. The catcher and centerfielder running between 2nd and 3rd. Awesome
How did he get caught off base? Poor base running imo.
@@white-gold the runner trying to come home is supposed to stay in a rundown long enough that they advance, but he got tagged too quick, runner from first to second went back to second, saw the batter was still trying to go to second, so he ran to third to give him a place to go once he got into a rundown, then midway to third Edman throws over to third to get him in a rundown. They all got caught mid-basepath, it was really unlucky. Any one of the cards throws is half a second later and it’s a different story

@TheSportsGuru I can agree with that this team has two position players that are considered two of the best players in all of baseball at their position in arenado and Goldschmidt the 2011 team only had one player that was considered one of the best players at his position in all of baseball and that was Albert

As a Brewers fan, I'm so relieved we wrapped up the division series in our last home stand, because otherwise we would have had to take a game against the Cardinals or Dodgers and that would have been super scary.
Man the commentators make me get goosebumps...especially when they had the double play run down

@@jacobwragg727 I love Dan McLaughlin but sometimes he needs to just chill because he'll get very excited when a player smacks a ball into the outfield that ends up being a popup fly out thinking it's a home run which in turn pumps me up and gets me all excited also thinking it's a home run because of the way he reacted to the hit😂

Great game for the Cardinals. Their energy level had to go through the roof after that crazy double play and managed to win yet another game. It's been fun in September for Cardinal baseball.

I don’t know what’s crazier. The streak, DeJong stepping in for Sosa, Bader absolutely being a tank in clutch position scoring runs and driving them in, Noot being Noot, O’Neill being ungodly, or out bullpen. This is all just a dream honestly.

This truly doesn’t feel real, it’s almost like mlb the show when I sim through the season and need all the wins I can get at the end to make the playoffs, switching to the other team and throwing straight down the middle. Even in that came you can’t stack players stats like this when throwing it down the middle 100% of the time, jusy incredible. The cardinals are the best team in history to do things like this. Always an underdog story with us even though we are absolute beasts this year

I dont know if I have even seen a rundown on 3 guys and getting 2 outs to end the inning. Has anyone ever seen a rundown triple play?
And the centerfielder was in it who also scores on sacrifice flies to center from second base lol neither of which I've ever really seen incredible team this month of September

We're 3-3 with the Dodgers this season. Also 4-6 with the Giants... I like our chances going into the wild card, whichever team we face, lol. After the Dodgers we went against the Reds and lost the first game, but won the second two and, well... haven't stopped winning since lol.
