Hello Chris, great video of the beautifully engineered Dadao. Great ergonomics, super #8 nibs and that upsize large converter that I only wish Asvine would mate to their #8 nibs. Per your channel reviews last year I did get Bobby’s demonstrator with the Flex nib and the black 9019 with his reground stub nib (these two Dadaos are always inked on my desk). You said several times last year that these excellent pens are very affordable and indeed, despite my modest budget, I got one in every color and even gifted a few of them to several friends who have since rediscovered the pleasure of laying wet ink and thoughts, on paper again. So yes, your love of fountain pens and your exhortations to enjoy life are contagious. Take care, keep your videos coming and I do hope a good neighbor plows the snow for you in the morning. 👋👋🇨🇦
Yes, our neighbor has a plow truck. I use an EGO snowblower for paths to chicken coop & creating dog runs. Now is is very cold. Great to share your pen enjoyment.
The 9019 are the most comfortable pens I have ever written with. Having four, I didn’t have plans to get more. And then they came out with this one! I had to have it, and it is my favorite color. The nib is super smooth like all the others, but this one occasionally skips on the down stroke. So I was thrilled when you mentioned Bobby’s stub nibs for these. I just ordered two, plus an architect grind. Thanks for the tip!
I have loved the trio of 90xx pens. I like the idea of having more nib options and Bobby does a great job with nib modifications. This model is worth getting.
Not as much snow but more cold here in North Dakota's "Banana Belt." A very attractive pen, and I enjoyed the stub. Judging by my experience with other really large Jinhao pens, I suspect the section is too wide for my comfort. Good to see a nice Pennsylvania ink!
Beautiful version! I have this model in burgandy. Unfortunately, its too large for my small hands for long writing sessions But, it writes beautifully....I love the stealth black!!!
I live in a tropical country, Brasil- Rio de Janeiro, these images of the snow are fantastic. Today here 37 C 🥵 so I am at home all day enjoying the air condiotioner 😀
I like pens in “stealth” look, very sleek. It would be really nice to have the black nib to really top it off! I hope they make the stealth in the 9016 (the 9019 is just too big for my small hands.) Birmingham Pen Co has done a fabulous job with those inks! The shimmer isn’t so bright that it’s not readable, and is very evenly distributed! I like the Bobby Stub nib, I hope he has them in a size 6! I’ll be off to check his shop!
I found both the 9019 and 9016 to be, sadly, too big for comfort. The 9013 works well but the nib is okay. But those BPC inks...😍 are sooo sweet! Thank you for showing them off.
Chris, Bobby's site describes his grinds as fitting specific pen models. How can you tell if one will be compatible with a particular pen, particular feed that is not listed? Is there a chart with measurements anywhere? I agree that the 9019 is a terrific pen, and the cost has come down to less than half what it was when only opaque black plastic was available. Thanks for your reviews and please pet the black cat.
Best way is to message Bobby. I've tried a number of his special nibs & found them to be fairly common & work with many pens. Especially for Chinese pens.
Beautiful pen! I have several 9019s, and all have been lovely writers. This review made me realize that I would love to see Jinhao come out with a flattop version of the 9019, sort of an oversized Jinhao 100 in some of the 100's very nice colors.
Another nice review Chris. I do love a good black stealth pen model. Hence my latest acquisition arrived a couple of days ago. It is the Gravitas Piston Carbon Black which is an all black version limited to 500 pieces of their first ever piston filling pen. It also has a #8 size nib and the Fine that mine came with is such a wet writer. As for Chinese pens, the Majohn C5 I ordered should arrive in a couple of days. Then there was one pen that only showed up in only 1 shop on Ali Express, at first. They called it in the description "New Modern Large-capacity Fountain Pen Creative Magnetic Ink-absorbing". Yes, another piston filler with the piston magnetically operated, but not like the PenBBS 487. I guess I'll see if the pen actually lives up to my expectations.
I see the C5 has a piston filler similar to the Pilot Con-70. More of a pump filler style. I have a few Con-70s & do not like them. Not easy to fill & not easy to clean out. Give me a C4, better design IMHO.
@@chrisrap52 There is a little trick to filling a CON-70. What I learned that works is if I press fast it expels the air better, then do a slower release. That way I always seem to manage a full fill.
Nice looking pen, I like it. If one day Jinhao puts a black PVD coated nib in it - I will order it on the spot. Till then, I will probably order Bobby's stub, I like such line variation. See, your review is again harmful for my bank account balance! 😀

Enjoy your new nibs. I know you will like them. Thanks for supporting Bobby.

I already love these pens and the stub nib from Bobby really is amazing!!! This pen body color is really nice looking!! Thanks Chris!
The Jinhao Dadao 9019 is a great pen, but this black version is by far the best looker. I also tried a new nib on my black pen, an EF. I am pleased!

I would have wanted a dark colour nib to complete the stealth look. I’m a fan of 9019 pens but in this I’ll save my wallet
I wish I had the option in India to get stub/architect/flex for 9019... I have three of them, it would be fun to add some different nibs.
Agreed, the 9019 is a great, high-value pen. The nibs on mine are wonderfully smooth and a little bouncy. That massive converter is nice, too.

Great video. Hope you are well. Some nice snow here in Flanders. Stay well.

Kinda like the 1935? th-cam.com/video/HVDHsk1XEDg/w-d-xo.html
@@chrisrap52 Right size and overall shape, but I do not care for the rest of the design.

Jinhao used a black nib on the black skeleton 100, could have put on on this pen. Wonder why?
Great pen for the value, also the 9016.

Después de la nieve, las temperaturas se mantendrán por debajo de cero. Disfrutarás del corral. Gracias por ver el vídeo.
Neutronstar ink is impressive. Looked it up immediately and of course it is sold out.
Thank you for using the inks I sent. I'm thrilled that you like them.
What is your Facebook name? I would like to follow you there.
Thanks for sending them. Facebook, my name - Chris Rapseik
I found it.
