I've never seen that style of pit firing before, with a hole dug below. Thank you for sharing!

Oh wow I’ve always wondered how they end up with the color. Thanks for taking us along

Hi Lorie, I enjoyed watching the process, but was a little disappointed you didn’t narrate 😢. It was very interesting to see how it is actually done rather than someone guessing as to how pottery is made. Thanks again1

Hello Diane, I’m glad you enjoyed watching the video. I did narrate the process but unfortunately I was copyrighted by the background music I used and in replacing the sound on TH-cam it took most of the voice recording out. Apologies for the inconvenience.

Fascinating to compare the similarities and differences between this and the techniques of Native American pottery which Andy Ward demonstrates on his channel.

Yes..I just watch the Native American one and he used the technique that the rolled clay is to have a continued piece or extended cut . A lot of Native American crafts are African like the peace pipe and feathered head dresses. So much destruction by colonizers due to the slave trade/ enslaved ppl have left many with a lack of knowledge . The motherland and its crafts will continue to show thru out the world till this day. Beautiful pottery done with simplicity and grace.

Just georgeous work. I love the color of the clay too. It's so golden. And the beautiful black finishes from the reduction. And the beads to polish with. The polishing looked amazing. I love the way you built the firing pit also. Your inspiring.

What happened, you did not narrate. I guess action speaks louder than words. The potter is so gifted, beautifully hand worked pottery.
