Massive numbers of military equipment makes for good combat scenes, but the human interaction is robotic, almost like a documentary. Hollywood makes it look easy, but it's obviously not. Apocalypse Now, Full Metal Jacket, Saving Private Ryan... masterpieces.

There were no such light tanks in post-war Soviet Army which could look like German tanks. Mostly medium and heavy ones including WW2 types (T-34-85, Joseph Stalin-2, Joseph Stalin-3, SU-100, ISU-152, they have been in service for decades after the war). The only light tank in service was PT-76, an amphibious tank used mostly by the Navy, but it didn't look like any German one. IFVs and APCs were not suitable to play roles of German tanks. The film's authors had mostly Soviet fighting vehicles in their inventory so they had to deal with it. There were also foreign vehicles. Half-track APCs are OT-850 from Czechoslovakia which are post-war copies of German WW2 Hanomag APCs. There weren't original airworthy German planes in the USSR, so aircraft of Czechoslovakian production were chosen to be actors. Zlin planes look like Messerschmidt Bf.109, and Morava L-200 present Bf.110 heavy fighters and Do.215 bombers. There are also converted units on the Soviet side. If you see a KV-1 heavy tank or a BT-5 light tank in this film you should know that a KV-1 is made out of a Joseph Stalin-2 chassis with a mockup turret, and a BT-5 is the same using a Т-34 body. But don't be too strict please. That's because almost all original KV-1 and BT-5 tanks were lost at war, most with all their crewmen...
@@siegsauer8899 Yeah, I don't usually criticize the equipment used in these movies, because I know they rarely have the exact gear that would've been used. 😉
Anyone else notice the fact that some of these tanks are made to look like Tigers? This is supposed to be 1941, right? It isn’t 1943. To further these statements, T-34/85’s in this movie? I feel that is also highly inaccurate. . . . . . . Unless they are supposed to emulate the rare T-34/57 variant, which was strictly for fighting enemy tanks. . .

@@thetankcommander3838 Hahaha....then you probably also noticed how, in Saving Private Ryan, the German SS would NEVER have sent Tigers, and other panzers, down that street, without first clearing the town with infantry! That fact has always bugged me about that movie! 😆

Precisely, when did the German army EVER go into a major push like this, WITHOUT using high level bombers, and/or Stuka dive bombers going in first, to 'soften up' ground targets?? 🙄 PLUS, German armor would NEVER go forward like that, without infantry support! And, they certainly would never send their half-tracks in FIRST, ahead of the tanks (unless they were using a scouting recon probe or two, ahead of the main attack)! Did the producers of this film NOT have the budget to keep even ONE military advisor on staff?? Sheesh! But thank you for posting this (silly) movie! 😆😆😆
