I didn't know that trick about buying resale and annual pass for those extra discounts. In order to go to Top of the World Lounge do you need to be staying at Bay Lake Towers or can you go even if you are using your points at a different resort? Your DVC videos have been SO helpful. Thank you!
You can be staying at any resort, as long as you're staying on points, to access the Top of The World Lounge! They just scan your magic band and then check your ID. And thanks for the kind words! Jen, if you bought right now, where would you chose as your home resort? I'm always interested in that!
Hands down my choice would be the Beach Club. Our family loves it there so much. The kids would be thrilled with the location and me and my husband loved being so close to Epcot during food & wine festival.
I love the way you do your videos! One question, I am really close to buying at Riviera and I live in Orlando. Can you tell me if spur of the moment is possible? Like a week or two in advance?
Possible? Yes. Likely? Not typically. Because I was curious I just logged on to see if I were you what could I get with that short of notice and the answer is: nothing. There is literally nothing available for the next two weeks aside from a night here and there and those are all 2 and 3 bedrooms. And honestly that’s pretty normal. I love DVC but my honest opinion is that it’s a terrible idea for anyone that can’t plan months in advance. Can it happen? Sure. But it’s the exception not the rule. Hope that helps!
I found this channel looking up timeshares, having done presentations through Diamond Resorts, Wyndham, and Westgate. I do give Disney credit for following through with their owners, rather than renting their resorts out for cheap to non-owners, leaving leftover vacancy for owners. I'm curious none the less, what rate would you have been willing to pay as a non-owner? That's ultimately your savings, and would differ from person to person. $500 or $800 seems hard to steep, but I don't know the convenience and amenities to factor in. $320 a night that you paid, really isn't that bad. Ultimately I think that if DVC didn't exist, and they had to fill up these resorts with normal vacationers, they probably would have to charge less. While Diamond Resorts' Liki Tiki Village, burns their own owners, and offers me a 2 bedroom for $101 weekday, in April. It's not a fair comparison, because Diamond basically has their owner's subsidize my room, where Disney does the opposite.
Interesting thoughts! I do know there are many hotel rooms on Disney property that sell out regularly that are $600 - $800 a night so people do pay that. Especially for a villa. Thanks for watching!
DVC is a MEMBERSHIP, so it's not forever. So think of the buy in, as the membership card. Yes, it can get cheaper. But DVC, is a luxury purchase. I think of it, as my ROLEX watch, that I didn't buy.
But you can get a tables in wonderland card which gives you 20% off dining. The card costs $150 so you need to work out if that will be a saving over the year for your family?
I looked into it for our next trip but it's just me and my oldest and it's only a 4 day trip. We didn't use it in November because so many restaurants were offering the special 20% off to DVC already (for the anniversary) but next time we all 5 go, I'm FOR SURE getting it!
Ive done the maths and with our trips this year its going to be great for us! We have a split stay between BLC and the Poly for my birthday next month and your video made me very happy. thanks
Question. My brother lives in Orlando. Can he buy and pick up park passes for me and then can I use them. The language seems to say that if he picks them up we can but then another place says that the first actual use must be by an ID carrying Florida resident ?
So, the community rooms are what I think you're talking about and the perks include, typically, games and crafts for kids, sometimes games and typically cast members that are in there to entertain kids and even special character meet and greets (I know for a fact that Peter Pan regularly shows up at the BLT one;). I believe every resort has one but I'm not 100% sure! It's called the Community Hall.
I'm a new DVC member and taking my friend's family (they are not DVC members) with me to Disney World. If they are with me, can they go to the top of the world even though they are not DVC members?
Absolutely! You do it through member services and it's super easy. And bonus, the dining plan price doesn't change seasonally as it does for non-DVC guests so you save some money if you got that route. I don't love the dining plan but if you do, not problem at all!
Hi There! I'm trying to understand this.. So I wanted to know.. how does it work when u decide to buy It? I mean.. I see for example.. xxx points and some due costs per year.. And then some total.. now my question is.. that total I have to pay in one payment when I decide to buy the dvc? And then pay the due cost every year?
You buy the initial buy in cost and the closing costs (depending on how you purchase I did resale so I'm not sure how that works direct from Disney). So in our case, our initial contract was, I think, $8,000 so we paid that and then we pay dues every year. Disney will direct debit your account so it can be spread out month to month. (disclaimer: I'm just a person who did it and it's been a minute so always check everything I say with Disney and/or your resale broker)
+E C yes, that’s correct. DVC will issue you a blue card that you show along with your picture ID. There’s also a virtual version of you don’t want to carry the card.

LOVE THAT!!!!
So cute! Which do you prefer in the parks, a loungefly backpack or a small crossbody?
Hey Jen. Fresh off the press. Walkway going in connecting the Grand Floridian to magic kingdom :)
I love it! That walkway has been there but hasn’t been open for years!😍😍😍

I love saving money and seeing fun places!!
Right?? WIN WIN! Thanks for watching, Danny!

Beautiful way to put it!!!!!
If you are a DVC member and an annual passholder, can you get both discounts on dining and merchandise? For example, 10% off plus another 10% off?
Sadly no but I did ask! You can take advantage of one or the other but not both. Thanks for watching and commenting!!

I honestly don't know the rules there as I'm not a Florida resident but I'm fairly sure you have to show a Florida ID for each ticket.
What is included or the perks of a hospitality house? And does every resort have one for DVC members?

How do cast members know if you have the discount?
+thedancemomsteam411 you have to show them your blue DVC card and a photo ID.😍

Absolutely - only one person in the party need be a member.
Can you purchase the Dining Plan if you're using DVC points?

Excellent info!
Thank you, Sir! I tried to do my research well. There's SO MUCH to know about DVC!!!!!
