    Rtn Santosh Mohta, a Practicing Chartered Accountant by Profession is an eminent environment enthusiast engaged in various activities showing his concern towards the Mother Earth.
    As we can all see, the scorching heat, world wide, is truly engulfing our comfort every minute. However, amidst this distressful condition, the activities of Mr Mohta and others like him, is giving some relief.
    Actually, we cannot really blame the sun and the weather for such a disastrous heat. It is all because of we humans.
    Rtn. Mohta believes that little more consciousness and support for Green, can improve the situation.
    Trained from Agri-Horticultural Society of India, Kolkata and an enthusiastic Nature Lover, Rtn Mohta is an avid gardener and plant specialist. He has more than 2500 plants in his small terrace of around 400 sft in his house. He always aims at infusing this energy among Thousands of people. Hence, he started a non-profit making organization named Concern for Earth. It is registered as a society under West Bengal Societies Registration Act.
    In several interviews, he has always questioned the audience by saying, “Are we acting responsibly for the next generation?” It may sound very harsh, but the reality is truly alarming. With passing time, we humans have become greedy and insensitive about environment and Mother Nature. Therefore, it’s high time that we understand what is good for the future of our planet and our next generation.
    Hence, Rtn Santosh wants us to join hands in this noble initiative and plant more trees for a Greener surrounding.
    Often, we Gift flowers on different occasions. However, he wants to change this custom a little by suggesting Gifting Plants instead.
    He emphsaise that by planting trees, we can contribute in improving the social conditions to some extent. Concern for Earth is promoting this phenomenon through various means.
    Not only this, he has also started a new venture of blending handicrafts from rural with gifting Plants. He has visited remotest village of the country asking the local artisans to make small exotic pots, using their handicraft skills. He uses these pots by planting small exotic plants and make a wonderful gifting material. This also provides employment to hundreds of people from Indian villages and promote local handicraft art, which otherwise is at the verge of slow death.
    In order to create a pollution and garbage -free City, Rtn Mohta is promoting the idea of converting Kitchen Waste into Organic Compost and minimize the garbage in the city. .Last Year he has, in association with its Club, Rotary Club of Belur, has organized a Bike Rally from Kolkata to Laddakh. Enroute, in association with BSF and Various Rotary Clubs, Plantations of Trees and Workshops for making Composts and importance of Garbage management were done. The Bike Rally had the blessings of Hon’ble Minister of State for Forest and Climate Change, Sri Ashwini Kumar Choubey. The campaign was a huge success.
    Waste to Wealth is another initiative taken by him were in food wastes like onion peels, banana peels, egg shells, etc. are converted into organic manure.
    Rtn Mohta is also Chairman of one of the Heritage Khadi Institution namely Shuddha Khadi Bhandar, which was inaugurated by Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi. More than 400 under privileged women artisans work their earning a livelihood and promoting Khadi and other handicraft.
