Thank you for the clear demonstration. I was trying to see how to do this and couldn’t remember from a previous video.

Hi! If I embroidered my jeans and used this technique, would the embroidery stay even after a wash? I don’t want to waste my time embroidering just for the design to be erased. Thanks!

Hi! Yep, I still use this technique on clothes! I might add a couple of extra knots while tying off, just to make sure it stays secure - but all of mine have come through many washes just fine 😊

Do I always only use two strands or for you free beginner embroidery tutorial do I use the whole floss with six strands?

Hi! I almost always use 2 strands (including for the free patterns) - I like the thickness and how it keeps things fairly neat 😊 you could totally experiment with different amounts of thread though, if you wanted!

Sometimes my knots pull through the fabric is my needle to big? Even if I do super big knots

Hi! Yes, it might be that your needle is too large (just as a guide, if I'm using 2 strands of thread, I'll use a size 7 embroider needle) - and it might also be that you're going in and out of the same hole! When you pass the needle to the back, don't go down the same hole - leave a tiny space (even just a millimetre or two) to stop the knots popping to the back :)
