I had a problem with the golems spawning outside of the farm so I just covered the ground 3 blocks out from the floating platform with bottom slabs and that did the trick.😁 this is one of the only farms that has actually worked for me. Finally!

Another thing: I know he mentioned it in the video but be sure you only have (at max) 3 nitwits in your farm or it wont spawn iron golems. Just something I figured out.

Yeh he doesn't tell you that you have to spawn proof the outside area by at least 30 blocks all around - I've used cobblestone slabs - others use oak buttons....
Just built this, got to 30 villagers, iron golems started spawning... then zombies and creepers started spawning in with the villagers and killing them. So, great build, but add lights :D

I have a love hate relationship with iron farms I love them but man I hate setting them up. The rules always see to change. The first one I did worked on an off and the iron golem would appear under the villagers. This one I tried but the water was under the villagers underground so as to tie the building into the landscape. Wouldn’t appear for nothing. Had to make a small spot up to with water pushing them down and then built a tower over that. Ha ha ha
okay so basically you have to do it exactly how he did it, if anything spawns outside just spawn proof the place by putting slabs !! hopefully this works and this is really efficient so you should give it a try! 😊

I built it in my 1.20 realm away from villages and beds, did everything exactly the same and my realm is in hard mode. Cats are spawning but I’ve got no golems yet. How do I fix it? All of my villagers are grown up.
I had the same problem, removing the glass blocks above the work stations should solve the problem. This way villagers can get on top of their work blocks.
@@billsedutto8824 so far all of mine are still working. I did have them all stop trading once and I had to break all the lecterns and put them down one by one to see whose was whose. It was a major pain, but I now put them down one block and fill it with water so they bob up and down and they have not switched lecterns on me since.
make sure they are all connected to the right jobs. just break the beds and jobs and replace them honestly. everytime mine breaks that what i do and it fixes it.@@billsedutto8824

What I do is bring two villagers in then I make holding cells for them all and breed them up underneath there. They will only breed to the maximum number of beds that you have there. You don’t have to put one up top at all as long as you’re not too far below.
Problems im having with villagers linking to work stations right now im gonna hold off till they fix this problem! Great farm tho and thanks for another great tutorial kind sir 👍
I set myself a challenge once where I was only allowed to mine 3 iron ore before building an iron farm like this. All you need is 1 bucket to start the process, then wait around in the middle until you get enough iron ingots to start making hoppers. After that I was free to start mining iron again, but I loved that challenge at the start of a world 😊
I did some testing after having issues. I discovered that the farm will break if there is a villager outside the farm area within 80 horizontal blocks of the center. *also cannot have another "village" or breeder within 100 blocks.*
Unfortunately villager mechanics are just buggy sometimes and if they unlink and re-link to the beds it can shift the center of the village. You can either make the water platform larger to catch any golems that are spawning outside, or you can spawn proof the area with leaves.
Golems will spawn up to 6 blocks above the bed, so with the hight of the Golem and a bit of a margin for error starting the roof at 10 blocks minimum from the beds should be fairly safe so they aren't trying to spawn with their heads in your roof

I had the same problem - used leaves instead of glass on the outside ring and that stopped any from spawning outside!
Dont forget to light up the villager areas or you'll come back to a bunch of unalived villagers and possbily a water leak.

At 7:12, you place a temp block and hopper facing the temp block. Why is the hopper set like that, and not down into the hoppers below?

Remove the glass blocks above the work stations, so the villagers can get on top. That should solve the problem

They keep unlinking and linking back to the beds but it’s working and every noun and then the iron golem don’t spawn

They nerfed villager discounts. You only get one cycle of curing that does anything.
As of the newer updates. You cannot get full discounts.

Put slabs or leaves in like a 8x8 or 16x16 around the farm, or just build it over water

I did this. 8 blocks out all the way around and the golems stopped spawning all together. Went from 3 outside the farm to 0 anywhere.
do I need to watch out for near by caves or does it not affect the farm? also is it any better to build it high up in the air or in the ocean.
I build mine 20 blocks above an ocean and it works perfectly. Tamed 5 cats for added efficiency

For your 96 block is that just horizontally or vertically? So if I want to could I build this farm underground 96 blocks away?
The 96 blocks is horizontal. I believe vertical is around 78 blocks but don’t quote me on the exact number.

I have built your unbreakable iron farm in every realm I’m in, and my personal world. Always double it with a trading hall for all librarian trades.
I actually managed to build it and break it and I can’t for the life of me figure out how to fix it. It’s an awesome farm though. No complaints here.

Probably because the bed you set as the middle wasnt actually the middle of the village so they were offset
