Clive that was a wonderful poem without pretence or pomp, they say poems should never be read by their author, but in your case it could not be performed better you are not only a wonderful singer ,poet , orator, dancer & mover & the absolute truth is you are an exceptionally kind human being, you are certainly not a jolson imitator, you actually have his voice, you are in fact better ,because you have a great & kind soul that shines through every performance, In the new life where he now resides He is still in awe of you from the first time he saw you, He says you have painted a wonderful picture of him that he really did not really deserve, & his spirit was quickened & learned humility from you in the afterlife, He can't wait to thank you but not for a long time yet on this plane. Your poem moved me to tears . when a spirit on this earth is moved its body is also moved & it responds in kind with its expression in tears. By today's standards, everyone is a racist. Al Jolson's "blackface" was a compliment to that race. He admired them and glorified them and their songs with his creative performances. Only the ignorant can't see it for what it was.
