Damn, it took me a minute to figure that one out! Also I thought it was probably 17/4 despite the clear 17-quaver loops but after seeing your comment and counting, it is really 17/8. In the intro and the section at 2:22 (during which there is that click playing crochets just to fuck with you) there are instruments playing crochets, creating cross-rhythms, but aside from that, every instrument is sticking to 17-quaver bars. By having no clear off-beat, they've made the downbeats quite well-concealed so you can still dance in time as if the time signature were x/4. Very clever.
I know everyone here actually admires Noisia for what they are, but i'm 10000% sure they are going to be way more appreciated in the future. I don't think we're in the place to comprehend their contribution to electronic music yet
Noisia have always made whatever they’ve wanted to. They don’t follow the trends, they just make whatever they’re into. I can’t say that I supported any of their more jump-up style stuff, recently, but l’ve always been a keen listener. And this is exactly the kind of insanity I knew they were capable of producing. The sounds, style...everything is unique, and it wouldn’t surprise me if they made all of the sounds themselves. No packs. Every cymbal, every hi-hat, every kick...they’re doing some insane stuff right now
@@MarkDanov Not that it even matters what they make or don't It's about how they arrange these sounds. Shit I mean that pad that comes in is a time stretched sample of Bulgarian folk music. Brilliant.
Where do I start with this? The sound-scape entices you, the riser leads you on .. then the drop utterly annihilated you! Big up Noisia, much love UKF!
It really does feel and sound like something falling down a hole, hitting the edges as it falls, and making something like that sound cool and pleasing to your ears is why noisia are the best
Looking back this is one of the best drum & bass tracks I've ever heard. The main section with the 17/8 time signature is absolutely hypnotic, and that Blade Runner-esque outro is transcendent.
Came back to say this as well. It is a journey from start to finish. The time signature, the groaning bass, flickering snares and hats, all serve to create a beat thats a living creature, rolling over itself ... its just a fantastic track
Noisia came back from the future and helped us all move forward faster! This track is impossible to understand, it melts my brain. I absolutely love it!
I think it’s called “the hole” because the rise before the drop kind of makes you feel like you’re falling, like the “Shepard’s loop” auditory illusion....could be wrong though
After hearing the outro on this... guess I'll rewatch Blade Runner for the 50th time.
junkie xl X noisia collabo brew
those are rookie numbers
A song in 17/8 time signature. These lads.
On a whole new level of beat
So *that's* why it sounded odd!
I’m hearing 15/8 but maybe I’m wrong
London Electricity manage to mix it :)))

Petition for Noisia making Cyberpunk2077 Soundtrack
In the first gameplay video you can hear heavy dnb emanating from a club at one point. So hopefully they will have some tracks in the game
They will regret it not putting noisia in da game hahaha
this seriously needs to happen
They did it with DmC so why the fuck not

exactly, they are way ahead of its time
totally, also Outer Edges was way ahead of its time!
All their albums have thus far been ahead of its time.
I feel like they're gonna be kinda like Lovecraft in the 20's, becoming an absolute classic in the future.
Cubism what the fuck are you on about, people appreciate noisias pre 2015 stuff, are you 10 or something 😂😂
🕳
Different. Deep. Cinematic. Beautiful. - I love it.
DnB with actual breakbeats?!?! I didn't think that happened anymore
Smooth goodness

Well they do make most of the stuff themselves. Not everything, but yeah, most of it
it has a strong culprate vibe tho

Noisia .. Please make soundtrack for "Cyberpunk 2077" !!! .. This is Insane !
wont happen
gonna miss Noisia, this was one of my favorites from them
Love the Bulgarian folk instruments at the background during the first part (or at least sounds like Bulgarian bagpipes). Insane track!
The sound design deities that are Noisia are back, and DAMN DOES THIS FEEL GOOD AND REFRESHING!
Big up 👆
Ehhhh, I dunno man, noisia really aren’t what they used to be, saying that, this is better than anything they have released in recent years
Morgan Denié oui! Enfin une bonne track de leur part!
@@wizzenberry this and last year is interesting to see, minus hold your colour remix. I'm fine with them not doing stuff that isn't neurofunk anymore.
Well said! this one is special

How does something sound so Ancient yet so Future , you did it again boys.
the most amazing kind of atmosphere
On point sir.
Check: 100 kab gaidi - bulgarain folk song as time streched intro.
I missed this sound from these guys, takes me back ...
Stupidly excited for part 2 if it's a continuation of the outro on this.
I pressed the AZ-5 button but it still blew me away.
Probably the best comment ever
A3-5
XD
Well played.
Bad boron control rods
Love that this track doesnt screw around with a 2 minute build up. Simple intro and the drums jump right in.
If noisia would be a manifestation of an object, they would be a fusion reactor right now.
Well described man, well described ;D
Not great, not terrible

Absolutely LOVING the drums on this one!
No way, I knew I heard the "Bulgarian 100 kaba gaidi" (bagpipes) in the mix ! At first I thought it was just my imagination.
yes, it's definitely 100 kaba gaidi
Really nice,
Noisia keeps going in a Amon Tobin meets Third Eye Foundation direction, more surreal, theatrical and textural, and its been really nice
meets Tool
This shits groovy. Weird time signatures should be more common

what ever happened to Part 2?
After 12 years of listening to Noisia they still provide quality stuff. Insane!

The way the snare comes in.. goosebumps
New Noisia? Big up!
Fresh tune.
Really interesting to hear DnB tune in this odd time signature. It would be difficult to mix and dance to but it's amazing listening experience.
the only dance i can imagine to this is staying in a place stearing at the visuals and trippin balls xd
This comment reminds me of the history of jazz featuring the rise of bebop lol
Wow... You guys been to a Tool concert recently or something?
Why?
Andreas Depmann odd time signatures bro

Perfect, futuristic track with good scales. Rolling this tune 3 days long in my workshop. Brilliant! Noisia, thank you a lot! Pure meditation.
Sound design got me somewhere on a pasture in the Swiss Alps
listening in the Swiss Alps right now.... very fitting indeed
Fuck me this gets better every time I listen

the ambiance of this track is absolutely unreal.. quite honestly a masterpiece of sound design in my eyes
