Sorry, but the full-length version (which is on this album) is so much better - the beautiful orchestral second section is wonderful. Always frustrating to only get the shorter version!

This album shows that The Moodies still had great songwriting skills. But the absence of Mike Pinder is notorious. Although Patrick Moraz does a good job -as he did on Yes' Relayer-, the mystic is not the same.
@MrBamaQ 8 track? how old do you think this album is? 1st one I ever bought- and it wasnt available on 8 track just FYI. thats mid seventies equip. By 1980 there was no such animal. Thats when they came out with microwave ovens and VCR's. Oh and I didnt even see cable tv till 82. In fact you can thank cable tv and MTV in particular for destroying music. Other than Metal (not hair bands) music sucked ass till Nirvana shook it up. The Moody Blues's music stands outside all genre's jmho.

Long Distance Voyager to me is the best of The Moody Blues!!! I saw The Other Side of Life tour which is another favorite of mine!!

Why was this song neglected in the U.S.? This group should be in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Their music is timeless.

The Full, Orchestrated Version of this Song was far more Complete and Satisfying to listen to!
