Morning lovely lady! Sorry to hear your mum is poorly and you are going through that worry. Similar for me right now, found out my mum has cancer just a couple of months ago so tough times. Im 52 and mum 79, its just what happens in this period in our lives sadly. You look after yourself too though wont you? More snuggles with Jack are the order of the day! 😀 Love your jumper! Loved the haul! Look forward to seeing you soon. Love Louise in Southport xx
Sending best wishes to your mum. It is hard with elderly parents going through illness and ageing. Be kind to yourself as it takes it out on you too with the stress and worry. My dad has been through a lot of health issues in the last few years and he is 86. Good to see you stick with one ingredient foods
My family all live to be in their 90s and all ate carbs. It is moderation and clean food, no chemicals back then and the carbs were needed for the manual labour, bringing in the wood or coal etc. As they say, variety is the key to life. Love to your mum.
I read a few years ago that potassium and magnesium were very important for health, but a lot of people are deficient in one or both. Potassium is vital for a few important functions so no wonder mum was poorly. I'm pleased you've given up keto. I don't think it is healthy but apparently is good for weight loss, something you don't need to worry about. I think we always expect our mums to be there, it's a huge loss when we loose them. Sending love to you both xx
all the best about your mum, My mother died a few years ago but always in hospital for various things and even up to 6 months at a time. so thoughts and prayers are with you.
My Mum died after an emergency heart bypass (age 65) when I was 36 and my younger sister was only 22 - the nurse cried with us all, I can’t say how u get through, u just do. She was the cornerstone of our family. So sorry your Mum has been unwell and sending healing vibes, hopefully she will get well with good care and help xxx
Hey Rechenda love your videos as always. You’re a comfort to me. So sorry to hear about your mum. I’m praying for her ❤please god she will be home soon and on the mend. My own mum has been in hospital a few times as she suffers with really bad stomach pains and liver issues. It’s so scary getting a call from my brother or someone else saying mum is in hospital. One thing I do remind myself when it happens is this: ‘in order to look after anyone else, you must first look after yourself’. I couldn’t break down when my mum took ill. I had to make sure I was eating well myself, exercising and sleeping well because if I’m exhausted and not well I’m going to get sick too and then I’m no good to anyone. I feel you hard on the giving up carbs thing, I tried it for a month or more but I am a mum myself and I was so tired all the time on Keto. I also was stressed trying to prepare different food for my son and then for myself and partner it was too much work on top of all my other responsibilities and my job. You’re right a balanced, healthy diet free of ultra processed foods where possible is the way to go. I started making my own bread using flour and buttermilk in my air fryer.its so good with real butter. Just for a treat at the weekend. Life is so short ❤ sending love and light to you and jack and your mum
Thank you so much for this lovely comment. Well done on the home made bread! I managed keto for two months. But no more. One ingredient food where possible but won’t beat myself up if I stray occasionally. Your poor mum with stomach and liver issues. But you are so right about self care first xx
@@TheBudgetFoodieAwh not at all thank you for your encouraging videos. I’m always looking for yellow sticker bargains now haha and freezing things I didn’t know I could. Exactly health comes first and your mental & physical health at that. ❤take care xx

I will say a prayer for your Mom. I hope she gets better soon. My mother is 79 (I'm 12 years older than you) but she is quite a little health nut. She works out on her elliptical machine and eats very healthy. I feel very blessed that she is in such good health and takes care of herself. Whole foods. Lots of fruit and vegetables. High quality carbs. Low sugar. You should be good to go!!

I was too broken. This was two years ago now. I have suffered so badly not being able to say goodbye to her. I wanted to be there for her by her side holding her hand. This is what she wanted. I took 2 months off work unpaid, so i could be there for her like a shot. Sadly that was taken away from me and from her. I miss her so very much. The pain will never truly go. Mums are so precious. Sending positive thoughts and healing vibes to your mom. My mom often goes to doctor, and been in hospital. Being it’s the norm, I don’t have much of a reaction.
I am sorry to hear about your Mom. Do take care of yourself as times like these can be very stressful and your Mom would want you to be ok. Regarding Keto, I say everything in moderation so a nice balance of all foods with reasonable portions should provide you with all the needed nutrients. You are so inspiring with your candor, honesty and real personality shining through - I appreciate it! And I love that you sing to Jack - I sing to my cat Francis too….crazy made-up impromptu songs.
Thank you Rechenda its a worrying time when your parents get ill and there older both mine have passed I miss them every day so make the most of her while you can. I love your jumper. If you go in Aldi they sell a whole basil plant which you could put on your window sill and they last for ages big hug to Jack I hope your mum Is out soon. x
Looks like you got lots of good items but I find Morrisons quite expensive in general and as you say their reductions are stingy. I do the reductions for M&S and ours are always half price if not more - by 4.30 I reduce everything that is left to 25p as otherwise it has to go out as food waste - so you may want to check out your local M&S food haul later in the day (after 2pm) - Also Lidl sell veg boxes (usually behind the till on the packing counter for £1.50 - this morning I bought one and it had a large mixed lettuce bag, a bag of oranges, a bunch of bananas, a lemon, a bag of carrots, 3 avocados, a butternut squash, a big carton of mushrooms, celery and a lime - all for £1.50. - Absolute bargain Best wishes to your Mum and I hope that she gets well very soon XX
If you put the basil stems in water and you can grow your own basil for free. If you use herbs then growing your own is the way to go and most aren't difficult to grow.
I know exactly how you’re feeling. My dads got a genetic heart condition, he’s been extremely healthy his whole life, to the point it took quite some time for them to realize he had the heart condition. With modern medicine and him taking proper care it’s not much to worry about, but I found out he missed a family event for stent placement surgery and I yelled at him after for not telling me. He didn’t want me to worry because ‘it’s not a big deal anymore’, I could’ve strangled him lol Parents once they hit a certain point I think they do things just to make the kids worry as a sick revenge for childhood. It’s very smart for you to consider your mom’s current health concerns and how you probably are at risk for similar and adjusting accordingly.
@@TheBudgetFoodie he is! Stubborn as ever, turns 59 this year and finally accepts his few limitations due to the heart. Hopefully your mom bounces back to annoy you with worry later on.
Hope everything okay with your mum, its very hard. My mums 84, its hard. Shes on her own and gets scared and often wont tell us, and her GP at times, when theres a problem. Loved your comment about the humble spud. Use other seeds instead of pine nuts for pesto, eg sunflower seeds (cheaper). I pick up the herb plants in supermarket and plant in garden or keep on window sill. The hardy ones i kept a few years but do need some basil. Top tip, you can make pesto from carrot tops of you come across them.
Hi Rechenda. I'm so sorry to hear mum's not well. (I spent 62hrs in A&E last December with my 90yr old mum, sitting in a chair! Diagnosed with AF and suspected TIA. SO worrying. Glad your mum was treated quicker). Wishing her a speedy recovery Sending Blessings. Love and Light to you, your mum, family and Jack 💜
My mum had a scare about 7 or 8 years ago. Had an ear infection and this somehow affected her heart. She looked really bad and I had to wait around 6 hours in A&E with her. She was only in her late fifties, so I knew she would pull through. I was weirdly in a state of calmness through it all. We all worry about our parents, but what can we do? Can't stop nature. And they won't listen to us about living healthily anyway. Just be there for them I guess. Btw, get your mum to eat bananas, they have lots of potassium. About the Keto thing, I heard it's good for short term weight loss, but this is the first generation where this diet is being adopted en masse long term, so no one really knows how things will turn out. Even cavemen ate nuts and berries, so Keto is quite experimental. What we know for a fact is that the longest living people in the world live on the Mediterranean diet, which allows for fats carbs & protein in a healthy balance. Just what we humans were meant to eat!
We’ve been in exactly the same position this weekend my mother in law is 88 and in hospital really not well , it’s been tough for the whole family , I agree nhs not perfect but she has had great care and they work so hard under a lot of pressure.
Hi, I quite like cottage cheese, I blend it, then just eat it out the tub instead of yoghurt. I also like mexicana cheese but realised if I buy red Leicestershire, or Gloucester cheese I have better spice control just adding chilli flakes. My parents have always bought standard cheddar, and I freeze it as I dont use it all that much. I dont have low food budget allowance, but I still look for decent value and buy cheese at sainsburys when its on offer usually. Sorry about your mum, your cant predict the future so do what you can with her while you can, I look after my mum who is a similar age and it can be hard but if you can negotiate your schedule to spend time with her I always find I learn valuable insights just being around older people, like she was alive and watching tv when JFK was shot! I like your videos. I am really underweight just now and have a meal plan and FYI my dietcian says we need carbs, that it is one of the easiest things for the body to use, but I really agree with the 5 or less ingredient thing if possible. So yeah, bread and rice and potatos you should eat. 🙂but fruit and veg and protein too, and our brain like chocolate for glucose /bye
Hope shelia gets home tommorow but renember if she doesnt she is in a safe place till the docs get her sorted. I am glad your opting for a more Mediterranean based diet... thats what has worked for me since being very poorly last year i believe it played a significant roll in helpung my body heal and also my mind px
Im so glad your mama is doing better. Still sending loads of love to you and yours ❤. I take 2 magnesium every night and bananas for breakfast. Maybe its in my head but i think it works. Look after yourself and jack xxx
@@TheBudgetFoodie I think it helps. Maybe it's all psychological but I take it every night. Bananas are good for potassium. We also take vegan a - z and vegan omega. I'm surprised we don't rattle 😆😆😆
So sorry you've been going through some rough experiences with your mum, health scares in loved ones is definitely horrifying. Hope she's on the mend and home again soon♥ I'm totally here for the revised food plan! I've never been a fan of keto, it's definitely not for me. Very excited to follow along as you get back to the types of food you bought today🙂
Wishing you, your mum and your wider family all the very best. ❤️. I don’t want to give any health advice as it is not appropriate. Just to say an imbalance can have a domino effect on other systems, and sorting out something quite simple can be transformative. Look after yourself. ❤️🕊️
Sorry to hear about your mum with what you are going through. my mum same she not been in hospital about 20 years. Ever since she was told she had throat cancer i think from her thyroid- she got the all clear after they removed it, this was 20 years ago and she never gone back. my dad has advance Alzheimer's and vascular dementia for 11 year. he collapsed 3 year ago with a seizure he was rushed to hospital he was in for 3 weeks. me and mum took it in turns, to stay with dad i work full time- so why i was at work my took care of day shift and i did night shift, while dad was waiting for a bed me and mum stayed in hospital till 4 am we went home for few hours sleep i went back few hours later finding out they m oved dad to another ward.. he still going he now 75 years old. we just took it each day as it came, dad now home with 24 hour care by mum why am at work. we have help with carers giving dad well being care. dad non verbal he only communicate with his eyes and eye brows, if we ask him are you hungry he would bling stating his hungry,. dad was in hospital for 3 weeks. we just have to get on with it. it's not eacy, we do what we have to do for our parents. sending you hugs. you got this. xxxxx🤗🤗❤❤❤❤

I’m sorry about your mum. I’m going through similar with mine. Mine didn’t want to have a MRI scan because she suffers with claustrophobia. And she didn’t want to go to hospital until she got very ill. And they just found cancer .. and it was an absolute shock.. especially because I live far away from her.. she lives in a different Country.. and I can’t really move there.. we don’t have enough money to go to private doctors and hospitals and have to wait for public healthcare to help her.. it’s all overwhelming.. sorry for over sharing. .. all I can do to avoid losing control and then not be able to help her at all is to take one day at a time. Even one hour at a time. I hope your mum gets better and you’ll be ok.
I’m so sorry dear. I hope you’re managing and have someone to help if you need. I am new to your channel and only saw this video yet. I’m sorry if you had said these things before. I am having surgery this week and if all goes well I’ll have time to catch with all your videos. Sending you my love and hugs 🤍
You should try to eat more plant based foods for both health and budget. Lentils, beans, tofu etc are a lot cheaper than meat. Also single ingredients. I feel so much better overall after adopting a plant based diet. Eating less meat but better quality when you do is a good approach.
@@TheBudgetFoodie I am single too and Aldi sell perfectly sized blocks of organic tofu for 99p. They also sell pastas made from peas and beans for 89p. Brilliant value and source of high protein
Hey Beautiful. I spend 125 pounds a week for 3 adult men, a 10 year old boy and myself.. not including household stuff or shampoo razors etc. So 25 each per week.. do you think that is good. Boys eat alot so can't reduce it and still struggle x
My friend is currently in hospital and has been for months, all sorts of problems and infections, flu etc it’s hard. I’m currently unwell myself on meds but not in hospital
I notice, each time I shop at Morrison's, bits and bobs of my regular shop have gone up. It's not making sense. Each time I go. They're going to keep doing it.
Thank you I hope you don’t mind me saying but looking at your food choices you could try a whole food plant based diet ( with some of your chicken stash on the side) I follow PB with J Jane Esseltyn Chef Aj Well your world

I tend to buy frozen blueberries as they seem to work out cheaper. That way I can take out the amount I need.
- Absolute bargain
Best wishes to your Mum and I hope that she gets well very soon XX
Ooh those are some excellent tips will check out M&S later in the day. Also what time should I get the Lidl £1.50 box? X
You can root the thyme and grow it in a pot. It will just keep growing xx
Oooh great tip x
If you put the basil stems in water and you can grow your own basil for free. If you use herbs then growing your own is the way to go and most aren't difficult to grow.
Oooh fab tip x
Much love 🙏🏻
❤️
I know exactly how you’re feeling. My dads got a genetic heart condition, he’s been extremely healthy his whole life, to the point it took quite some time for them to realize he had the heart condition. With modern medicine and him taking proper care it’s not much to worry about, but I found out he missed a family event for stent placement surgery and I yelled at him after for not telling me. He didn’t want me to worry because ‘it’s not a big deal anymore’, I could’ve strangled him lol
Parents once they hit a certain point I think they do things just to make the kids worry as a sick revenge for childhood.
It’s very smart for you to consider your mom’s current health concerns and how you probably are at risk for similar and adjusting accordingly.
Oooh parents they are so naughty! Hope your dad is ok xx
@@TheBudgetFoodie he is! Stubborn as ever, turns 59 this year and finally accepts his few limitations due to the heart. Hopefully your mom bounces back to annoy you with worry later on.
Hope your mum is doing OK now. Sending you all my best wishes x
Thank you so much! Xz
Yes, reduced herbs are worth it, they make simple food taste expensive.
Absolutely!
That cheese is really lovely in a salad, i do buy that all the time
Yummy xx
Please please please say ‘xxxxx of joy’ in every video! 😂
Love it when you say that
Haha brilliant I will try!! X
Ps. Hope your mum gets better soon!
Thank you me too xxx
Hope everything okay with your mum, its very hard. My mums 84, its hard. Shes on her own and gets scared and often wont tell us, and her GP at times, when theres a problem.
Loved your comment about the humble spud. Use other seeds instead of pine nuts for pesto, eg sunflower seeds (cheaper). I pick up the herb plants in supermarket and plant in garden or keep on window sill. The hardy ones i kept a few years but do need some basil. Top tip, you can make pesto from carrot tops of you come across them.
Love to your mum Jen xx fab tips about the pesto and carrot tops xx
Hi Rechenda. I'm so sorry to hear mum's not well. (I spent 62hrs in A&E last December with my 90yr old mum, sitting in a chair! Diagnosed with AF and suspected TIA. SO worrying. Glad your mum was treated quicker). Wishing her a speedy recovery Sending Blessings. Love and Light to you, your mum, family and Jack 💜
Hospitals are awful but hope your mum is ok now xx
@BudgetFoodieUK She's much better, thankyou. Hope your mum recovers well too. Hugs. K
Bananas are a good call for mum! Lovely advice xx and yes I love Mediterranean food, we got this 💪❤️
Love a chai tea sorry to hear about Mum❤
Thanks lovely xx
We’ve been in exactly the same position this weekend my mother in law is 88 and in hospital really not well , it’s been tough for the whole family , I agree nhs not perfect but she has had great care and they work so hard under a lot of pressure.
Oh no it’s so sad I hope you and the family are ok zx
Sounds lovely xx yes I think I agree we need carbs for our brains and energy x
Hope shelia gets home tommorow but renember if she doesnt she is in a safe place till the docs get her sorted. I am glad your opting for a more Mediterranean based diet... thats what has worked for me since being very poorly last year i believe it played a significant roll in helpung my body heal and also my mind px
That’s really good to know Paula x
Im so glad your mama is doing better. Still sending loads of love to you and yours ❤. I take 2 magnesium every night and bananas for breakfast. Maybe its in my head but i think it works. Look after yourself and jack xxx
Hey Christine do you find the magnesium is good for sleep? X
@@TheBudgetFoodie I think it helps. Maybe it's all psychological but I take it every night. Bananas are good for potassium. We also take vegan a - z and vegan omega. I'm surprised we don't rattle 😆😆😆
Haha made me smile x
Good prices!
Yes they are! I did well this time! X
So sorry you've been going through some rough experiences with your mum, health scares in loved ones is definitely horrifying. Hope she's on the mend and home again soon♥
I'm totally here for the revised food plan! I've never been a fan of keto, it's definitely not for me. Very excited to follow along as you get back to the types of food you bought today🙂
Yay!! Thank you for your kind words x
Wishing you, your mum and your wider family all the very best. ❤️. I don’t want to give any health advice as it is not appropriate. Just to say an imbalance can have a domino effect on other systems, and sorting out something quite simple can be transformative. Look after yourself. ❤️🕊️
Will do thanks Carole x

That is a very intensive knitted jumper
The good people of Bimba Y Lola made it :)

Yes they are xxx
I hope your mum feels better soon. My grandad got sent to hospital this week as he collapsed 3 times in one day. He has diabetes, Parkinson’s and other health issues so is quite frail. He has been told he has some kind of infection so we are hoping he will be back home soon x
Oh no how old is your grandad? Sending love ❤️
He turned 85 last month ❤
Oh bless him xx
Your clearance fruit and veg look so fresh still. My local give a 20c discount and they’re all brown and half rotten
It wasn’t too bad! X
Oh lovely I’m so sorry to hear all that. Unfortunately mum passed away :( xx
Oh no sending lots and lots of love xx
@@TheBudgetFoodiethank you 💓
Hello😅
Greetings
Love you chick ❤❤❤ Bananas and potatoes, yay!!!!
Yay! Carbs!
You should try to eat more plant based foods for both health and budget. Lentils, beans, tofu etc are a lot cheaper than meat. Also single ingredients. I feel so much better overall after adopting a plant based diet. Eating less meat but better quality when you do is a good approach.
I love all those things too! Will definitely incorporate xx
@@TheBudgetFoodie I am single too and Aldi sell perfectly sized blocks of organic tofu for 99p. They also sell pastas made from peas and beans for 89p. Brilliant value and source of high protein
Oooh will def check this out xx
Hey Beautiful. I spend 125 pounds a week for 3 adult men, a 10 year old boy and myself.. not including household stuff or shampoo razors etc. So 25 each per week.. do you think that is good. Boys eat alot so can't reduce it and still struggle x
Wow that is really good!
I thought it was you wish i had said hello now 😊
Ahhh! Did I look shifty? Lol 😂 I try not to look obvious filming in case security throw me out x
Hope your mum recovers soon. What a worry for you 😢..
Fingers crossed she will recover quickly and be in good health again xx
My friend is currently in hospital and has been for months, all sorts of problems and infections, flu etc it’s hard. I’m currently unwell myself on meds but not in hospital
Oh wow lots of love to your friend
I notice, each time I shop at Morrison's, bits and bobs of my regular shop have gone up. It's not making sense. Each time I go. They're going to keep doing it.
Yes and their bags are now 60p! Xx
Thank you
I hope you don’t mind me saying but looking at your food choices you could try a whole food plant based diet ( with some of your chicken stash on the side)
I follow PB with J
Jane Esseltyn
Chef Aj
Well your world
Oooh I shall investigate thank you Belinda x
Your lovely mum 😢
I know 😞😞😞❤️
WHAT ARE YOU FEEDING JACK

Wow your haul kicked butt. Good value. Do you eat meat?
NVM kept watching and heard you talk about eating meat
I do, I have a freezer full of chicken breasts as I ordered a Muscle Food delivery months ago and still chomping through it x
Youre glasses are very large
They are indeed thank you for letting me know, I wasn’t aware
