I saw another tv news report that said the officer stopped “several hundred feet” away, called dispatch, informed them of a major accident with injuries & advised that he was “trapped” in the car.
The officer went through with the right of way on yellow & that the bike apparently had flashing red which means that it’s like a stop sign.
The bike has to stop & can’t proceed until it’s safe. Poor guy on the bike probably assumed that the officer had a flashing red ans would stop. However, I do agree that when going through a yellow like that ppl need to slow way down because they can’t see what the other light is doing. Sad case. Hopefully there’s video in the police car to show what happened & how much further the officer drove. At least he called it in immediately.

Qualified Immunity would not apply here. There is nothing preventing him and the city from being sued by the family (probably worth about $2-3 million in the lawsuit) and the cop can face criminal charges for felony hit and run. Qualifed Immunity only covers a cop if they mistakenly mis-apply the law in an arrest and the arrest was made in good faith. In other words, the cop does not really know the law and mistakenly arrests someone. Even then, you can still sue the cop but in this case, it is not a crime.

no because the "peace officers" are actively attempting to cause civil unrest through police brutality and lack of code enforcement so the civil war can start quicker. So he should not be arrested. They're just doing their job exactly as they're trained, & not trained.

Officer leaving a fatal crash ??? That individual should be made an example of that we expect the highest level of conduct in uniform arrested and charged like any other citizen.
Innocent until proven guilty in trial file the charges and let the jury decide.
