The orange-black thing is a standard plastic garden hose quick connector. You may already have one at home, check the ends of your garden hose. Otherwise they are available in most hardware stores and supermarkets.
Hi, thanks for showing this video. i tried this before, but becasue i don't have a drilling machine, i cant make it work. Is there a way to just force the Gardena nozzle into the bottle with minimal modification?
An easier way to solve this problem if you haven't got time or the materials or craftmanship, is to buy a brass garden connector as it ensures a firm lock but also doesn't have to connect all the way to the rim or edge of the nozzle. Also Brass Connectors are built to last and do not corrode so easily.
There are other techniques, but you need to make sure you have a good mechanical connection in order to hold up to the pressure. You also want to make sure you get a good seal.
@erikw789 Check the following: - The cap ring should be removed from the bottle - The seal is not bunching up as you tighten the bottle. - The nozzle has been sanded very smooth and there are no scratches on it - All the sealing surfaces should be free of dirt and shavings - Make sure the nozzle is tightened well. - make sure there are no cuts or scratches on the seal
hello dude , i have the gardena quick connect , but seems that the gardena around 4- 4,5 bar lost air , i don't know whit but , do you think is better to buy metal one? , and i have some problem with the caps , here it's hard to find a good bottle caps , always lost pressure on fillet :(
Yes, Bill Robinson's original design for the coupling is very easy to make out of a hollow threaded lamp rod, a couple of nuts and washers. Google is your friend, since I can't post the URL here. just look for "Robinson Coupling"
Hey George. I'm having trouble getting the cap to lock air tight on my nozzle. Air leaks out of the bottom edges of the cap thus causing the rocket to not pressurize properly.
Are you using a standard cap? What kind of a seal are you using between the garden hose quick connector and the bottle? Make sure that the seal and sealing surfaces are free of dirt and scratches. Also make sure the seal isn't getting deformed when you tighten it. Sometimes it can be pushed out of the way. If all that is good, I'd try a long threaded cap and a hard rubber washer.
Can I add that this setup will let the water be pressed back down the hose when you pressurize the bottle and you may need to add a check valve also; Or am I wrong?
Yes you can add a check valve if you like. You will also want to add a pressure release valve behind the check valve so that you can depressurise the rocket if you need to abort a launch.
Hey nothing is working here!!! This tutorial is not working at all, why use all these expensive components instead of making something really more simple? The gardener nozzle wont fit in any cap (except maybe in the USA where you seems to have strange caps) and the female gardener even with 1mm less doesn't accept my cap. FAIL
Ok thank you very much. Turns out the seal and the cap were getting deformed when i tightened it. New cap, new rubber seal, no leaks. Thanks again!
Thanks, this was exactly the problem i had when i was launching today.
It released by itself at about 40 PSI.
@afetalver That is just a standard garden hose connector. You can get them at your local hardware store for a couple of dollars.
thanks for the good movie!
what kind if hoze do you use??
and how do I connected with a cyclepump?
thanks for the tip. you have given me a super idea, I'll try.
thanks

If you are using fairly low pressures (
how to make the orange that locks and hold the gardena nozzle? how to make the quick connect?

how do you make the launch pad, like the pull-string and base and all that.
were do you get that orange black thing?

@jehockey47: Yes, you can connect what ever air source you like. You can connect a bicycle pump, compressor, or bottled air to it.

@SuperSnake509 It's hard to recommend how to remove it without seeing which kind it is. Do you have a link to the product?
this tut is very good

@annoo4 What brand is it?
how much pressure resists?
@DSchwapp A garden hose quick connector.
cool thanks for the tip. i was wondering how i could fix it,,, thanks

@erikw789 : Which part leaks?
have you ever thought about using an iron box, to have high blood pressure?
Basically Brass Connectors are more durable, have firmer lock and doesn't need to connect all the way, or so far into the plastic male garden nozzle.
very interesting
erikw789 i see what i did wrong i didn't put the seal
erikw789
i did what you said but it laiks
the nozzle leaks

the nozzle :P
вот они тупые, просто крышку надо вклеить в насадку-штуцер чуть большего диаметра жидкими гводями и всё!!!
