    Awesome work. Very impressive and this is what everyone needs to do. Feel sorry for the braces that are stolen

      Thank you! The theft was a setback for sure. We have installed a large security system since then.

      Thank you! That means a lot to us! It almost doesn't seem real that we're building our home...except for the fact that we go to bed pretty tired and sore a lot of the time! LOL!

    Congratulations! How many days did it take you to set all of the blocks? How far in advance did you have to order the Fox Blocks before they were delivered? What was the material costs of the blocks plus the 84 yards of concrete? Thanks for making a very nice video!

    Make sure you do not backfill until you have your floor installed. Or your walls can cave in.

    Good day to you and yours
    Can’t say how much I have learned from your videos and your basement build as well as the rest of your build I do have question. Where did you get the floor joist hangers for the basement and what was the procedure for installation
    Thank you in advance

    So how did you attached your windows into their openings? I assume you did not screw into that foam window buck, did you end up attaching wood, so you had something to attached the window to?

    I plan to start an ICF home next year. You mentioned the Watkins hangars which make most sense to me. You may want to comment on why you chose them and your experience as DIYers with the installation.

      We chose the hangers because our architect had a lot of experience with them and we trusted his recommendation.

    How tall did you do the walls?

    Awesome! Where did you rent your bracing?

      A colleague had a friend that purchased the bracing. He was willing to rent it to us for our project.

    2:40 why did you cut to match the joint below? Everything ive read says to stagger the joints.

    • @FletcherCreekCottage
      @FletcherCreekCottage  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Every block should be staggered except when making the common /vertical seam. What you see at 2:40 is me cutting a common/vertical seam in the wall. Each common seam is braced/strapped together with 2x4s on both sides of the blocks before the pour. Fox Blocks ICF website is a great recourse to learn more about vertical seams and when they are needed in a wall. Hope that helps:)
