This ship probably made more sense when 1 scu containers were the only containers. I feel like this ship needs to be completely overhauled to be useful.
If they added a trailer hitch so they could attach a grav trolley, it will return to being useful as a mover around bases or in the hangers. Additionally, you could modify the front 1SCU holder into a tractor beam for moving the larger SCU boxes.
They should repurpose the forks as tractor beams to make it more viable. Maybe also put a cargo grid on top of it. I loved using it for bunker missions when the loot was more plentiful.
The Mule is exactly as its name implies. As a historical example "In ancient Rome, mules were used for transport and their amazing strength and endurance was known to all. Roman soldiers were known to carry great quantities of equipment, armor, and rations over great distances on foot." If your consider it a way to transport your equipment and goods (looted or otherwise) then it's the best vehicle for the job so far. Equip it with boxes and you're good to go. Imagine been a mercenary and jumping in to someone's Ironclad Assault. Where you bring your own gear in a Mule that you park inside the ship. Or if you land near a bunker or other conflics zone, and drive your mule around when the fight is over, or to get closer to that fight without risking the loss of your ship.
I still say the Drake Mule should be a hover pickup truck vaguely reminiscent of the Mule from Serenity. A wheeled forklift belongs in Argo's lineup! I even kitbashed the Drake hovertruck in Blender using parts from the Greycat ROC and the Drake Vulture. And not only is the Ursa better than the Mule, but the base Cyclone is as well. It is faster than both the Ursa and Mule, and can carry either one scu box, eight mission boxes or packages of Jumptown Maze, one friend standing in the back with a railgun, or an unknown number of yet to be strip-looted dead bodies. It also has 2 gun rack slots and a passenger seat (currently broken).
The Mule is a forklift that can't lift because is broken in its current version. This was its purpose, to do warehouse job inside a warehouse. A large warehouse like are the Distribution Centers. It's not a car, it's considered machinery like the ROC and the non-released floor sweeper.
I love my Mule. Only a few of my biggest ships can fit my Nursa (Mercury, C2, and 600i), and for my smaller multi-crew ships (400i, Freelancer MIS) I'll take my STV. But the Mule is perfect for solo ships like the C1. Best use for it is the Delivery missions at DCs. Fly around the border outposts collecting and delivering all those packages. Then land near the central building and drive in to collect and deliver the rest. Also, what's not to love about a mad little buggy that drives that fast and has no speedometer.
It's good for bunker runners as well. The box carriers can handle armor and undersuits from npcs, and you can load up two 1 scu boxes as well if that's your thing. I also prefer the skid-steering for handling. So, for "drive in from outside turret range, and leave w. one set of armor and some weapons" ... .it's .... okay. (said as a 400i/Terrapin guy)
I had a mission to pick up "free product" from a place. It was one of those where the machine just cranks out one box at a time. Wanted to take my Anvil c8 because its small and I could park it by the door, but it was getting destroyed by other players. Brought my Cuttles black, cleared the riff raff, but I couldn't park it anywhere near the door and ended up running each box like 120m. Took forever. A mule would fit in the cutty, and make box moving faster in that situation and its cheap. But, not a ton of other uses. I just need to be able to move small boxes faster sometimes and I don't have a Corsair yet
This is probably a pony Express frontier vehicle. Probably going from the dock yards directly to local businesses. Best useful in large numbers to see any amazing results. Probably why it's so cheap. Lol I can imagine it being like a mini Amazon or UPS truck
I'd give it a 4/10 donkeys. Fails as a forklift, but it is a passable mail/loot truck. I would fix it by ditching the forks and making it a flatbed truck that could hold modules like a tractor beam, refueling tanks, ammo boxes (when reloading ship guns become a thing) or radar extenders. It could become the Swiss army knife of small support vehicles.
It does look really, really cute though, if I played the game I'd probably buy one with in-game currency for no other reason than because it's adorable. Looks perfect for some modularity, too - if you could swap the forklift for like a mining laser or a gun or something, whatever else you could conceivably do in a small ground vehicle.
The Mule is cool. I'd probably just use an STV / Ranger CV/ Dragonfly for small boxes or base Cyclone to carry a 1SCU crate to do its job. Hand-held tractor beams would have to be tuned differently to make a Mule more competitive. I used to think it'd be a cool hangar queen but we have hover trolleys to carry cargo in there. At least it's enclosed, so like the ROC-DS you're able to refill your air tanks, or move things in the harsher climates, but the Ursa is also around with 2SCU, armed, with flexibility to bring more dudes. At the end of the day I think it's just another option. Not the best option, but an option and aesthetic nonetheless.
the size of the mule is its main advantage imo, loadin your boxes into the mule and then load into your drake cutter :D I kind of thought this could be used for jumptown for some org that really want to run a ground incursion and drive in slowly to the lab at jump town.
I had a MULE but got tired if waiting for CIG to make it actually be able to carry a 1 SCU Box inside and the front forks work. I turned it into a USRA Med Evac that actually does something useful...
They should put 2 cargo grid spots on the roof I could justify a vehicle if I could move 4 boxes at once. Also kinda would be nice to have it open cockpit, feels like it takes too long to get in for how small it is.
After seeing the POI additions from CitCon 2024, it looks like there will be POI outposts/towns that might be close enough to each other where we might get missions to deliver to the next town over, and a Mule would be great for that. I don't think this is vehicle for moving cargo into and out of your big cargo ship. This is literally a mail truck.
True, during the traktor beam refactor probably these will have categories so the tractor pistol won't be able to llift heavy boxes and ships like MPUV can't fly inside factories, bunkers and warehouses.
I do get curious with vehicles/ships like this where, at this moment, there are clearly better options if once we get to live will there but a niche they are better at. Still lots of game to develop.
I really wish the Mule was... useful. I had one planned in my fleet Outlook, but I'm so sketched out over its practicality being outshines by.. a multitool? Lol!
The Tumbril Nova especially the one that can carry a person on the back is pretty solid and has great rollover quality, also the NOVA I think will end up being underrated.
to me as an Logistics Operator this vehicle makes absolutley no sense at all, first time i saw it i tought it was like a Habor Forklift wich can carry 16SCU boxes sideways, it only needs a mast to lift and the forks should go under the cargo or also move sideways to magnet a 16 SCU containers side, then i buy it
Multitool will no more carry heavy things and it will has charge.. that is why mule and other vehicles or gadgets will has mean to use. We are using limitless multi tools and maxlifts ... Heavy things will drain the battery and no one want to use those tools for daily things or periodic things.. Everything and vehicle has mean in SC universe..Everything is at easy mode right now at alpha.. Also we won't carry boxes or gadgets or weapons that we cannot stack the ground.. that is why ursa won't be logical to carry boxes.. it designed to carry players with seat... IF you don't stack your box in to your vehicle it will crash to your vehicle and damage it in future..
there will be city gameplay lots of cars and trucks comming soon game play will change from where it is now arc 18 think about it and the raptor cleening the streets lol
Ok... hear me out. I think in its current state your rating is overly generous by at least 3. _However_, if CIG was willing to completely switch tracks on the job for this, it could be made into something that was a 10 for anyone with a large hanger or a Kraken. Lemme explain. It definitely needs a tractor beam. But give it a monster one that rivals what is on the SRV. That along with some additional tweaks and you would have a ground-based tow-truck/repair vehicle. Here's my vision. Tractor beam: The moving of ships of any size you can put in a hanger is a good one. Especially on the Kraken. You don't want to be eating up a landing pad with an SRV. Additionally, you really don't want another ship flying around what might be a congested area. Computer: It has a Size 1. With nothing to do. So, let's give it something to do. Moving ships and vehicles is going to be fully manual. However, there is zero reason that you shouldn't be able to go to a screen, click on the stack of cargo you have on your lift, then click on the ship you want it loaded on, pick from a few standard loading patterns, then click on "Make It So". 'Course you will need to stay in the Mule while it's doing this, in case something Ooops(tm). I mean, this is modern day technology other than the tractor beam part. Entire warehouses are run with robots now. Repair: The storage repurposed to carry repair parts and RMC. The tractor beam able to swap out to a repair function like the hand-held one. Yes, you won't be able to get to the top of pretty much any of the ships. But that's what your _second_ Mule is for. Thoughts?
I'm a bit confused mate, I rated it a 2, You said that I'm overly generous by 3, Are you saying that it's a -1? I do however like your idea on how to fix it!
@@chillcago *chuckle* Yep, as it is, it's a -1 for me. It is 100% useless and unless they make some changes, always will be. So it just takes up space.

I can't believe the Mule has THREE paints! That's three more than the Terrapin, 890J, or Gladiator!
first time watching one of your videos. Its very nice you accept gibberish as a language because that is the only language i speak.
Welcome Aboard!

just found your channel today and I will probably watch all of your ship reviews today.

The Mule is good for looting if you have an empty crate on it.
🎉you’re helping me with getting hyped back up on Star Citizen.
Value wise its really not worth $40 for something so cheap in game. Perhaps as an LTI token.
This is probably a pony Express frontier vehicle. Probably going from the dock yards directly to local businesses. Best useful in large numbers to see any amazing results. Probably why it's so cheap. Lol I can imagine it being like a mini Amazon or UPS truck
i like the mule, using it always as i do box missions. very usefull for this
Would really like to see this get some attention and finds its place, especially with DC's being added and the upcoming hangers.
Friend of mine lived out of his vulture + mule combo for a week without leaving microtech. It’s a great vehicle!
Definitely going to be great for moving boxes around in your persistent hangar!! Awesome little ship to have
Just use to ride around in the hangar, btw nice to see you with inforunners
Bunkers. Avoid the turrets by rolling in with one of these holding two empty 1 SCU boxes to carry your loot back to your ship
I'd give it a 4/10 donkeys. Fails as a forklift, but it is a passable mail/loot truck. Made me think of another way to use the Mule.
This is the month! The vulture giveaway is on my bday, I feel it!
Mule and MSR are a great combo. I just wish the front forks worked as intended.
the size of the mule is its main advantage imo, loadin your boxes into the mule and then load into your drake cutter :D I kind of thought this could be used for jumptown for some org that really want to run a ground incursion and drive in slowly to the lab at jump town.
I rode a Mule once irl...it was an exciting ride. I thought it was going to hop on my car at one point.
Yeah, I can see driving this thing doing box runs. Sometimes that wind is killer.
I had a MULE but got tired if waiting for CIG to make it actually be able to carry a 1 SCU Box inside and the front forks work. I turned it into a USRA Med Evac that actually does something useful...
I'd love to see a use for the mule (besides the old duping exploit.)
It's way smaller than a cyclone while carrying twice as much (as soon as they fix that) and handles surprisingly well offroad.
I love the Mule, but it really needs a front tractor beam. Then it would be great in the new hangars
If this is the T1 cargo land vehicle, we need the T2. The semi of the ground transport.
The Mule is an essential vehicle for doing DC missions, but not worth buying with real money. I always have one bought in game though.
First yet again! Trying to get that Vulture🤣🤣🤣
They should put 2 cargo grid spots on the roof I could justify a vehicle if I could move 4 boxes at once. Also kinda would be nice to have it open cockpit, feels like it takes too long to get in for how small it is.
I hope with 3.24 the Mule will will get a useful function. Tractor on multitool makes this vehicle useless in most situations.
Honestly I'm just hear to comment about how much I'd like that drake vulture for my starter fleet
After seeing the POI additions from CitCon 2024, it looks like there will be POI outposts/towns that might be close enough to each other where we might get missions to deliver to the next town over, and a Mule would be great for that. i'd like to see this as a mini enclosed troop carrier
Nice vid. I hope they fix the mule soon.
meme vehicle, sole purpose being a LTI token. Can't take CIG serious anymore, as we all know the lift will never be a 'lift' but become a beam
True, during the traktor beam refactor probably these will have categories so the tractor pistol won't be able to llift heavy boxes and ships like MPUV can't fly inside factories, bunkers and warehouses.
Had, melted, was a one patch wonder. Might be useful with future content, but really short distance 1scu delivery.
Love the Mule!!
Mule confuses me on it’s existence 😂
Mule fits in a Vulture too.
I like how it carries six small containers, but the fact that it only carries the 1 scu and seems to be going to go by the wayside. I just don't know.
keep up the good work!
i just want that Drake Vulture!!!! i love your work dude
Nice take!
If CIG would fix the cargo grid on the ursa and the cyclone. I would rather use either of them.
I think the mule is more towards delivery over ground from your ship landed farther away.
Question, if you put 2 SCU boxes on the front, how can you see when you are going forward?
Mule is a curious entry....
I do get curious with vehicles/ships like this where, at this moment, there are clearly better options if once we get to live will there but a niche they are better at. Still lots of game to develop.
Definitely needs fhat Gold Standard passover
I like the Mule. But don't buy it IRL obviously.
I really wish the Mule was... useful. I had one planned in my fleet Outlook, but I'm so sketched out over its practicality being outshines by.. a multitool? Lol!
I might need to get the mule
Handy vehicle
I sold my vulture, i want it back!)
the mule just seems like a victim of its age. designed to solve a problem that has yet to materialize in game.
hopefully it gets some tlc soon
Need to get me one of these in game. Dont know why i havent yet
68k aUEC and it's yours!
Personally I couldn't see myself using any other ground vehicle except an Ursa.
The Tumbril Nova especially the one that can carry a person on the back is pretty solid and has great rollover quality, also the NOVA I think will end up being underrated.
Nice!

Long live the Mule!
What's wrong with the tires? They look worn out, like 90% of the tread is worn away... Why not new tires, with deep tread?
Just wish it could carry bigger boxes, maybe they can add a tractor to it?
Although I do like drake, and considering completing the box set 🤣 but really I won't be buying a kraken so....
I wish I would have watched this video before I bought the Mule.
Its ok, there are plenty of options if you want ro swap it! Its fun to race and offroad with though!
Ok... hear me out. I think in its current state your rating is overly generous by at least 3. _However_, if CIG was willing to completely switch tracks on the job for this, it could be made into something that was a 10 for anyone with a large hanger or a Kraken. Lemme explain.

Sweet deal
I watch every video and would love to win the giveaway! Brokies unite!
Just let it tow multiple cargo trollies!
This is such a quirky little...thing haha
I hope this gets useful....
Leave a comment he says, like or dislike he says... XD
hey
I find it hard to find a use for this vehicle
It's just for box missions and moving things in your future Personal Hangar
Awww pore Mule... a two!
I don't see a value yet
you increased the background music again.bro why are you doin this who keeps telling this is better???
brain tries to keep following to track the sound while watching the video...
