  • This video shows how I changed the injection pump on our JiNma smartrac 284 horsepower tractor. This tractor is a 2007 with the Chinese built y385 Diesel engine. The footage was lost for two years. I I hope this helps someone because I couldn’t ding any videos to help me at the time.
Please pray for provision and spiritual guidance as we move forward. To God be the glory for all that we do at A Lighted Path Ranch!
Thank you to all that are faithful in prayer and/or financially supporting our mission.

Ok brother. I appreciate your video and instructions are hard to come by. I just got my pump in the mail and I'm going to attempt it. I too am a Christian and I enjoyed your testimony of faith and ending with how to know Christ as Saviour. God bless you and I'll let you know how it went. It sounds like you have a great ministry and we pray it continues to grow.

Can you give me information where to buy injection pump

I bought a tractor with a y385 engine that the rod cap bolts broke and the rod went through the side of the block. It did not hit the water jacket but the rod hit the injector pump and broke the casting. I put in a new rod, piston and sleeve as the crank was not harmed. I patched the block and bought a new pump but have been having trouble getting it timed. Your video has helped me a lot. Thank you very much as yours is the only information I could find on installing a new pump.

I’m glad that it was some help. I couldn’t find anything either. I hope that you have it up and running soon. Mines been a good engine. The only complaints with the whole tractor has been the electrical and any rubber parts. God bless.

I wish I had seen this about 2 years ago. My tractor wouldn’t start one day. I decided it was injector pump. Paid a little over $400 for new one. I installed, learning as I went. Couldn’t get it running. Took it to mechanic. A few months went by he called and said it was running. Paid him another $400. Took it home, was leaking around timing cover. Made new gasket. Couldn’t get it started. Finally started by using copious amounts of starter fluid. The devil was inside timing cover with sledgehammer trying to beat his way out. The spring loaded weights inside the pump timing gear had came off. Not sure what they were for but it was running without them. So out the came. Finally got it started again. Ran smooth and good.
But there was one problem. The hand throttle linkage no longer worked, only the foot throttle.
Then reality struck. The hand throttle linkage was my issue from the beginning. If I had tried the foot throttle back when I decided it was injector pump it would have fired up. So now I have new injector pump that wasn’t the problem. My pump timing gear weights sit in my toolbox. My wallet is about $800 lighter and tractor runs fine.

Sometimes we pay for an education. I look at it as we gain that money back further down the road. Or that’s my hope. I’ve still got some education that I’m waiting to pay off.

hi i just fitted this pump, i was wondering if you know how to adjust the idle. Thanks Rob

On mine the adjustment is set by a set bolt right behind the arm where the throttle linkage attaches. There’s two adjustments, one for top end and one for idle. The set bolts adjust against a plastic cam.

Thanks for the video but you cut out right at the moment I needed!!! hahahah. I have a Jinma tractor and I'm trying to replace the fuel pump but can't get the dang thing off. You mentioned @28:54 having to give it a light love tap on the shaft to get to release? I seem to be having the same problem but for whatever reason this isn't working for me. I'm sure I need to add a little more force but before I do that I was hoping you could let me know if there was anything else you did like using a puller to somehow align the key in any way? Any help here would be much appreciated. God bless.

It’s been a few years since I did this but I know that I didn’t use a puller because I had limited tools with me back then.

Did you turn the injection pump while it was running or with it off? For fine tuning timing.

I left the cover off, ran it and shut it down to adjust. I repeated the process until it started quickly and it sounded good at full throttle.

Where can I buy a new injection pump?

www.circlegtractorparts.com is where I ordered mine and all my parts. Sometimes they can be found on eBay as well.

Why didn't you drain the antifreeze first? Seems kind of dumb to pull that hose with a full radiator.

    • @RanchinOnMission
      @RanchinOnMission  ปีที่แล้ว

It drained a lot quicker into the same pan that it would’ve through the petcock. I’ve also had one wring off in a copper tank like this before and that was an American made radiator, where this is Chinese.
