Just picked my JP15 Tiger Eye Quilt burst up yesterday and it is a stunning looking and beautiful playing and sounding instrument!Love the feel tone and looks!!!
I did it. I had a 2017 prs custom 24 10 top. It looked great, i returned it and got lucky buyingba 2017 jp15 in teal green. This plays and sounds better than anything ive owned or played. Stainless steel frets as well. Omg you can get any tone. Your demo helped me gobfir it . not a scteatch on it. 2300$
Thank you so much for your video. Your demonstration of this guitar sold me on it. I am now the new owner of the JP-15. Let Music Man know that they owe you part of the commission on my purchase. Cheers!
Have this identical guitar. The only exception is the finish on the back of the neck is the BFR woodgrain that is unfinished, hand rubbed gunstock oil / special blend wax that I tried to achieve on many other guitars over the years. This one though, having ~ 30 guitars when I got this, now having only three. This guitar is such a winner. There is only one downside-the pickup mounting are a custom profile made specifically for this body; it’s not that they didn’t sound good vs myself being persnickety about outfitting all of my guitars with the same pickups for years. That being said, my talented guitar repairman/lute did get my BKP Alnico Nailbombs to fit perfectly, and they indeed sounded exactly as expected; however, had I not initially been so dismissive of changing my sound and keeping my live sound identical to what I was dialed into, the stock pickups could’ve been an interesting complimentary part of my [new] sound. The stock pick ups and volume knob(s) are very responsive to your fingers / playing. I would suggest keeping the default pickups; if you’re boxed into a particular sound try swapping out the magnets. Also, I was always opposed to having a battery, but in this case, the pick ups are still passive, only the piezo and dB boost are powered. But it does require a battery w a charge to operate the guitar.
Hey Jack! Thanks for the video! Can I ask something very specific? The pickups are passive and piezo is active. Can you play the guitar without battery? Lets say u wanna play only the illuminators and no piezo.Does it work? Thanks man!

That is awesome! Hope you enjoy the guitar! :)
Super late on this but killer review, you very clearly articulated and demonstrated what that axe is capable of. Thanks!
I know absolutely nothing about guitars but this was actually one of the most interesting music TH-cam videos I've ever watched. Wicked axe
Where did you buy that bro. Thank you
How is the tuning stability compared to the Sterling version. My JP60 did not stay in tune when using the bar

Nice, perfect color. …
Would you please make a video guiding how to restring this guitar? I'm helpless lol
interesting I hadnt seen one with birds eye maple. mine has a flame roasted maple neck
I own p6 the early ones still love Erie ball guitars

In my experience no. When I’ve had the battery run out it will cut the overall signal from the regular pickups as well
It's all active. About the only drawback on these guitars.
@JackRollinsonMusic how long do the batteries last? Thanks for input. Playtime duration. Hours
@jeffwombold9167 what about the hours playtime? Do they last long?
@TalkNRock they last quite a while. I play around 10-20 hours a week, and they last 8 months or more. Use good batteries, though.
I’m wanting to get myself a JP15. Hard to find in Aus. Great playing and video, thanks for sharing!
it's pronounced "OZ".
@@jonbon7219 Yep, correct.
Great review
Nice to hear a New Zealand accent. Where did you buy the guitar from? Local or online? I'm considering getting one also.
Straight from the factory
God those pickups are bussin, i'm jealous lol.
What's the neck feel like being so flat? 17inch radias is way different than the average 9.5" radias
It feels really comfortable and allows me to play stretchy chords more easily
You readjust those saddles to be even? Does that still intonate properly??
Might just be the camera angle but they’re not even. The guitar has held intonation very well over the time I’ve owned it
@@JackRollinsonMusic I was about to say, we don't set em up that way lol. Good stuff man. Nice video and great playing
I heard a little Dorje in there.
What string gauge?
They ship with 10-46 Ernie Ball
Jesus Christ! It's Yngwie!
