Quite late but I wanted to thank you, deeply. This last year was rather tough, the worst I’ve gone through, but I’ve gotta admit I learned a lot. I wish you godspeed, hope everything goes smoothly in this unknown times. Once again, thank you for your kind words. They really mean a lot.
I loved that you asked specifics about gender. Usually people just go “Male or female? … I’m assuming female by your appearance,” and it annoys me cause I’m a Demi-boy (he/they pronouns) and i hate that people assume my gender based only upon appearance and not by my answer. It did make me genuinely tear up when you said that as the only time something/someone asks specifics about gender is my Apple Watch, when I first got it, I noticed it said “male, female or other” which made me excited cuz I’ve never been given the option before. I did click female tho cuz my parents think it’s a phase thing and that I’ll regret putting one of the other options on later on in life but I’ll prove to them it wasn’t a phase.
Everyone should feel acknowledged and valid, whatever the context, but especially in asmr. The more creators on whatever platform that step up as allies to non-binary folks, the more things’ll change on a societal level, slowly but surely. Your parents love you, no doubt, so they’ll accept you for who you are eventually. Thank you so much for telling me some of your story; you’re always welcome here. I’m from the uk and I was really disappointed when I looked at an nhs form and it didn’t have any other options but male or female sadly but I believe we’ll get there eventually even if it takes years to come! Thank you for that, my dad isn’t bothered what I identify as as long as I’m still his little monster, well my entire father’s side isn’t really bothered but it’s my mother’s side who’s against it and thinks that I have to be over 20 to know how I feel about gender or to like the same gender and such, which is ridiculous in my opinion. 😓 Thank you for accepting me into your community, it’s an unusual feeling I’ll admit but I hope to feel it more often soon so I thank you for not judging me. I hope you well in your journey friend! 💜💜💜
