    This is awesome. I’ve always wondered how the tin clasp worked. Thank you for sharing this💗🤗!

    Up all night.... tomorrow I do it!!! Such a wonderful demo 💙 Thanks John you make it look so easy. I will let you know how it works for me. BTW Soap and water to remove the sticky leftovers from the pockets- can't remember who told me, but it took my glue sticky right off.

      I’ll try the soap on the sticky residue. Let me know how it goes with changing the elastic. Good luck!

    Thank you for this. Frankly, I was dreading having to restring at some point. John, how do you care for your cover? The leather is immaculate.

      No need to dread it. It’s really much easier than one might think. In the past I’ve used coach leather cleaner and conditioner/moisturizer. It’s wonderful and probably the cheapest items you’ll ever buy at coach. I think they were $10 a bottle so a total of 20$

    My Traveler's Notebook closure strap is not attached. When I open it up, I have to set the strap down somewhere. I'm thinking of putting a hole in the center of the spine to attach a closure string. Any ideas?

      What brand travelers notebook cover do you have? I do know some brands don’t include an elastic or snap closure. Something you could do is get a Hobonichi elastic cover closure or get a nice piece of elastic and make one yourself.

      The brand is Goranlye. it's not available anymore. There's an elastic closure strap, but it's not attached to the cover. It slips on and off.

    John can I do this to my Moterm B6? I want to make strings out of it. Right now it is made to slide the back cover into the back pocket. I don’t want to ruin it.

    • @planningwithjohn
      @planningwithjohn  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I’m sure you can. If you have another makers B6 check their measurements to make sure you are putting the holes in a correct spot. Or make sure it is in the middle.

    I searched amazon and I think I found the same blue microfibre towel but now I dont know how soiled it should be before using it to protect the clasp like you did. Please advise.

      I think it is just how you feel you want it to look. I maybe once a year or once every 15 or 16 months will condition my tns just to give the leather a little moisture to keep them from getting brittle.

    I wonder if one could use a similar technique on a Chic Sparrow so as to get rid of the knot inside? 🤔

    • @planningwithjohn
      @planningwithjohn  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Jennifer used to sell her tns with a tin clasp when she first started. Back in 2014 or so when she was still on Etsy. I have a pocket creme black beauty with a single elastic that came with a tin clasp. After a while she stopped doing that. I think you’d have to refigure how the elastic goes through the holes and the clasp would fit horizontally not vertically. Maybe worth a try if you don’t want the know inside.

      @planningwithjohn  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      2-3 mm is what works best.

    Hi, I have a question... Is it possible to use something else instead of the clasp? I know you can skip it, but is there any alternatives if I do want something there? I have pain in my hands and I can't do all of this with the tools. Kindly Mia

    • @planningwithjohn
      @planningwithjohn  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes you can use a big beautiful bead or some other decorative item. Or you can leave the clasp or bead out.

      @@planningwithjohn Thank you, I was thinking about a bead if it could go, I will try it 🥰
