Just one thing to add. There's two grub screws in each sprocket. That's why it was so hard to slide off the shaft! I figured that out the hard way. And the buggered bearing on one side is most likely due to over tensioning the drive belt. I have mine quite loose and they don't slip at all. Thanks for your video Lee, great job!
Hi Lee, and anyone watching Lee's video who may be taking on this mod anytime.... As far as rounding hex driven fasteners is concerned, and especially in situations like this where you might be looking at USA hardware, get reliable info about the EXACT fastener size - it might not be metric and an Allen key that seems to fit but is not the EXACT fit will ream out the fastener very easily. Found this out the hard way working on avionics gear built in the States with metric tools here in the UK. Hope this is helpful for someone. I love your vids by the way Lee, I'm an e-mountain boarder myself, but just watched this summerboard vid 'cos I enjoy all the videos you produce so much!
Interesting that aaron was asking you about using cloud wheels as center wheels. I was thinking about using them but figured they were too huge! Thanks for the perfect guide! Great content so much detail about the board.
Great video but I’m stuck. One of my pulley wheels will just not come off. Both grub screws are out. I’ve tried a small crowbar, a hammer, put some WD40 on it without success. It does look like some locktight was used when it was mounted at the factory (unconfirmed but I can see some blue stuff). Any tips on what else I can try?
The torch got it moving slightly but it would still not come off the center wheel shaft. I am glad to report that SB is sending me a replacement gear wheel and side plate for me to install my freshie. Question for you, what size are the bearings use for the center wheels? My understanding is that these are different than the outer wheel ones. Thanks.
Great video, exactly what I needed! Is there any reason to keep using the Powerballs? Is there an advantage when you compare them with the Freshies? I saw the link to the Orangatang Caguama 85 mm Longboard Wheels, are these a good choice for the Summerboard?
Yo, great channel mate, really been informative about Summerboard. Only question - I see content on the board has dried up. Do you simply prefer mountain boarding or is the summerboard not worthwhile? I'm tempted but I'm super on the fence still.
It's a good question. Honestly it's about availability of good weather and good terrain which we have neither of here in the UK. It really is a summer board! Makes it hard to get out on it
@@LeeWright Understandable, I ruined my MCL riding my manual longboard in the rain a few years back, the extra speed would certainly make it sketchy. Hi Lee! I have been watching your Summerboard vids and finally took the plunge an got one in their Black Friday deal and it arrived today! I have a couple of questions I was hoping you could help me out with? First off, I have been trying to join the official WhatsApp group but for some reason it doesn’t work. I think you mentioned a UK group. Is that the same one or something different and how can you join? Also, I got the SBX but noticed the deck is Maple (same as the SB1) and not Carbon as I was expecting but think you may have mentioned something about this previously, so I wanted to check what the deal was? And advice would be great! Cheers, Chris.
@@360vroomers it’s no dramas mate, at least it was enough to get you by. I have an extremely early board with many differences to the later ones so it’s only natural things change etc
Hi Lee, how you fit the da blues to the board. i found it shorter than the summerboard wheels. i didnt see any space between your wheels and trunk. how did u put the washers?
@@LeeWright it works. thx bro. one more thing, will it scratch the belt if no risers on for da blues? i didnt compare the difference between original wheels but i found the belt is really close to the ground.

So the m4 12mm socket head isn't correct for the motor hardware?
That does look like a rough road problem solving solution, Lee. I will be awaiting the road test result. Well done, Lee.

Heat! Have you got a heat gun or a creme brule torch? heat the pulley and it should come off

For those doing this, fyi there are two grub screws. Need to loosen them both.
The pinned comment explains that early versions like mine have 1 grub screw and later revisions have two. Glad you got it sorted dude
