  • RAMEN RECALL
Well believe it or not, instant noodles are making headlines today, because Denmark has just completely banned three flavours of ramen noodles and recalled every single packet in the country. Yep, three flavours of Samyang instant noodles have been deemed so spicy by Denmark's food authorities, they're worried they could be poisonous! So they've pulled them off shelves to keep people safe from the spicy snack, especially kids! Meanwhile, the company that makes the noodles says they're sold all over the world, and Denmark's the first country that can't handle the heat. But they're looking into local regulations to make sure Danes can spice up their life in the future, if they want to.
    SWIMMING WORLD RECORD
What do you get when you mix Ariarne Titmus, a 200m freestyle race at the Australian Olympic trials, and a time of one minute and 52.23 seconds? Well, you get a new world record! In an epic race against the previous world record holder, Mollie O'Callaghan, Titmus pipped her at the post with just point 25 of a second difference! And it puts her in a pretty good position ahead of the Paris Olympics in July.
FRANCE CRACKS DOWN ON FAST FASHION
One of the world's fashion capitals, France, is cracking down on ultra-fast fashion. It's just passed a bill that'll ban advertising and add a 10 euro or 16 dollar tax for fast fashion items, from brands like Shein and Temu. The idea is to cut down on clothing waste that mostly ends up in landfill, and it's something experts here in Australia think we should be doing too, considering we've just been given the not so desirable title of being the world's biggest fashion consumers.
    CHAMPION EATER BANNED
First to America's top professional eater! Yep that's a real thing. Joey Chestnut competes in lots of eating competitions, and has won almost every one of New York's famous Fourth of July hot dog eating contests, since 2007. But this year, he's been told he can't compete, because of a new brand deal he's signed with a rival hot dog company that's plant-based. I'd say don't sweat it, but ahh, I don't think that's possible. So. much. sweat.
    TH-camR VOTED INTO PARLIAMENT
Now to a popular TH-camr from Cyprus, who, without any political experience, has just been elected to the European Parliament! Fidias has more than 2.6 million subscribers on TH-cam, and is known for stunt videos such as, 'I Survived 10 Days Buried Alive', 'I spent 10 days in a VR headset' and I spent 10 days in European Parliament! Okay, that last one's not real, but who knows, it might be?
    BEAR-Y NAUGHTY
And finally, to these bears in Vermont. Their crime? Chilling in a backyard and gently rocking on a hammock that wasn't theirs. But yeah, unfortunately, playtime was cut short.
