I'd say outside of messing around or just practicing and not caring about slag, Never weld over slag, And definitely 100 percent never even think of doing it on critical applications.

Welding over slag is a killer over time. Causes cracking

Awesome video. Thanks for sharing. Been hearing so much about dual shield. Seems like a pretty forgiving process. Also CO2 seems a ton cheaper. A tall bottle of Argon costs $1K plus where I live. I would like to try this setup.

Awesome video! I'm curious though, did you lay straight steady beads or oscillate left and right a little?

I did both to see if the outcome would be different.

This is really not a surprising outcome since you are only seeing a couple slices from every weld, if you were to get say 20 slices per inch you may see more inclusions in the weld. It's kind of like drunk driving you mostly stay in your lane but you may swerve out of your lane once or twice every mile so (as long as you weren't totally plastered) and if someone took a couple photos from an aircraft it wouldn't look as if you were a drunk driver unless they got lucky and happened to snap the photo at the right time.

I completely agree with you, I bet you'd be able to see more discrepancies with xray or something like a die penetration test. Thanks for watching

If you're new follow his advice and don't get into this habit. This is a good way to fail your tests.
