Which Build is Better for Bane?
In this video, we test out two different builds for Bane, a unique hero that can deal magic or physical damage. We compare the two builds on basic attacks, skills, and objective control to see which one is more effective.
Physical Build
Items: Demon Hunter Sword, Endless Battle, Berserker's Fury, Blade of Despair, Malefic Roar, Immortality
Pros:
Higher damage output
Better at taking down towers and objectives
More reliable in teamfights
Cons:
More squishy
Less mobile
Magic Build
Items: Lightning Truncheon, Genius Wand, Holy Crystal, Blood Wings, Divine Glaive, Immortality
Pros:
Longer range
More crowd control
More burst damage
Cons:
Lower damage output over time
Less effective at taking down towers and objectives
Less reliable in teamfights
Conclusion
The best build for Bane depends on your playstyle. If you're the type of player who likes to get up close and personal, then the physical build is for you. If you prefer to stay at a distance and poke your enemies down, then the magic build is a better choice.
Ultimately, the best way to decide which build is right for you is to experiment and see what works best.

Its not which version of bane is better, its rather the different playstyles that u prefer, for physical bane u just play as a burst and up-close fighter. Meanwhile for magic bane, u play as a poker and a teamfight menace with his ult, oh and dont forget u can use his ult to dmg turrets. Thanks to this, playing Bane is very versatile in his roles thanks to being able to switch between physical and magic, if u lack physical, go phy bane and if u lack mage then just go magic bane.
Dont forget full tank bane who can still do good damage up close cus of his buffed passive and 1st skill, so satisfying to see saber, guin and eudora not able to one shot me in a single combo ☕️
It's the other way, mage bane is burst and physical bane is poke...
Mage bane is better against squishy heroes and dps heroes.
Physical bane is way better at poking and taking obj, and more versatile..tbh physical bane after the update doesn't need full dmg..so malefic+bod is enough for dmg I guess and 3 dmg items.
Mage bane still needs full dmg build but he's real good at bursting squishy and not bad at pushing..and he forces squishies to buy athena and that's a really good thing.
phy bane skill 1 is cancer
@@hase8442 what is your tank build
NOPE! Watch the video Closely PHYSICAL BANE IS BETTER AT EVERYTHING! The problem is MAGIC USERS CANT DO BASIC MATH when they see a "Magic" on bane's skill description they didn't consider the PERCENTAGE OUTPUT Of The skill. Banes kit is made to Dominate and Push lanes and that's why moonton made his 2nd and 3rd magic scaling so they can Limit his capabilities
Lastly if "MAGIC BANE" is good then how come we've NEVER SEEN PRO PLAYERS USE IT?
Because it sucks Period!
Bane has 2 sides:
He can be "The Stabber" (physical)
Or
"The Spitter" (magic)
Both is strong and dangerous 🗿
What if your go hybrid?💀
@@pogcatban1155
Captain Bane Reigns Supreme
Physical Bane: Poke and Damage basic attack playstyle
Magic Bane: Massive Heal, burst and tower push playstyle
Dont forget tank bane who’s an absolute unit
??? bro phys bane literally 2 shot squishy champ and have more damage to tower conpared to magic bane
@@ratterkin i think he's referring to ult spam when pushing tower
@@ratterkin
But does phys bane heal half his health in 1 click skill tho?
@@coldwindfarm1309 so if someone still one shot you is it really matter?
Despite having 2 distinct roles for Bane, it's play style is quite opposite to its respective role. Physical Bane plays more like a Mage that pokes from a distance, and Mage Bane plays more of a Fighter for sustaining and healing a lot in the middle of the battle. As for me though, when you use Bane for laning phase, I suggest you'd go Magic Bane to outlast your lane. If you go jungle with Bane, physical damage is the way to go since it clears the jungle and objectives quicker. Thing I love from Bane the most is that you could adjust your build depending on your team's draft, and he could excel. As for the fun factor, Mage Bane is the way to go. Soaking damage and healing most of it by building Full Magic items will leave your opponents in awe.
exactly. phys bane is a poke mage while magic bane is a sustain fighter
@@hdihiieheiyeah it's somewhat reverse
Is a hyrbird build viable?
how about emblem sir?
@@hdihiiehei that is a very irony yet funny way to describe. I agree with you. :D
I love this segment of your content. More videos like this
Tips: When you use Mage bane, build items that give you more magic power like COD,Lighting Truncheon, Holy Moly Crystal. Blood wings for more movement speed. Divine glaive for magic pen. Enchated talisman to spam his skill even more. Don't build items like glowing wand and genius wand. Since he only have 2 magic skill u can't get full effect of those 2 items.
And mage bane is best against squishy targets...and most of them are forced to buy athena or they'll be bursted down.
But physical bane is more versatile. .but that update on bane was a pure buff on mage bane, as he can push now and not completely useless in early.
Any tips on phy build or should just copy elgin build on video
I wonder how effective ice truncheon is
Many players fail to realize the benefits Bane gets with Calamity Reaper. Since Bane's tendency after casting a skill is to use a basic attack, he can trigger the true damage from the item quite often. Endless Battle also has the same effect but the scaling in Calamity Reaper is much higher than the scaling in Endless Battle.
Yes but that item slot could be used on something that maximize his skills more than the passive he shouldn't be using as a mage build
@@yuridc1780 you should almost always be using basic attack though in inbetween skills when fighting heros or minion waves. Forgot to mention it gets a nice bonus from your magic power since the damage bonus is extra magic damage.
it's a good choice, but i love my 20% cdr book and truncheon, tough choice
Yeah, it works and it's nice but there is just better item and better heroes to use calamity reaper
Bane's core items are clock and holy crystal. Clock has to pair with lightning truncheon for annoying 1st skill. If you want to push with Bane, you have to buy fleeting time for more ult. You definitely want to counter any athena with divine glaive.
So yeah, there's no room for calamity
Finally was waiting for this❤
Tysm Elgin
I’ve been waiting for this for a long time 🎉
I play bane using hybrid. I build him with endless battle and bod or sea halberd(if enemy is regen type) in the early game since physical is strong in the early game. Then I build calamity reaper, holy crystal and blood wings next for insane heal and ss damage. His passive along with the 2 true damage item is insane. I get about 800+ true damage using this build.
Wait what
Hmm interesting thanks for sharing
@@kierzsenpai3542 no worries. And use mystery shop as emblem since those items are pricey
using this now. thank you 🍻
does this still work with the current patch?
This is really good content. I commend you Elgin. Thanks!
Thank you for making this video.
It differs cuz there's the case that there's alot of magic dmg in ur team and u wanna build physical damage so that Athena won't affect u and vice versa
Teacher hanzo back at it again
Im watching this in school right now
One thing to mention is that lightning truncheon can actually proc by his 1st skill. So a little compensation for the 1st skill mage build.
Yeah but it doesnt sync well with the skill. The bounced bullet is what hurt not the target of your skill. So the truncheon damage only applies to your targetted bullet (meaning the tank/minion/whatever) not the back line heroes
Nice i need this vid to try current Bane
Gracias, muy buena explicación
From my own stand of point, i played bane since season 19 and until now and have supreme title and I prefer phy bane cus of its usefulness and the ability of the cannon makes it able to poke and deal extremely high damage
but magic bane have slow effect on his cannon..
Have you tried mage tho?
I too play bane, I have tried all roles and build for him including semi tank magic bane which is what I mostly use currently
Physical Build Bane is much more fun to use for me because of Bane's first skill which can delete mm or mage at the back, which is quite enjoyable.
First ( jokes aside, I do prefer the old Bane 😂
Which old version??😂
the chasing ult is very nice
@@somerandomperson6066 huge passive range and a Circle that follows the enemies and turrets
You aren't wrong the old ghost pirate bane that is exactly what most of us want
The one with 200-250% damage passive
Physical Bane is more of aggressive style with some poke and can clear objectives faster.
While Magic Bane is more of a team playstyle since his ult and 2nd can hit multiple targets, you can also distance yourself if needed
To sum it up
Physical is meant to be an agressive play style
Mage is for patience since the ult is slow
PD: You don't need to Charge 2nd skill while pushing turrets, it's only for extra damage on enemies
Another Underrated way of doing bane is going hybrid this also depends on what defensive items the enemy is going for.
Emblem Setup: Support Emblem|Talent Distribution: 3/3 Boots 3/3 Pen+Avarice (This emblem has Hybrid penetration)
Builds:Arcane Boots or Magic Shoes|Clock of Destiny|Hunterstrike or Waraxe|Lightning Turcheon|Blade of Despair|Divine Glaive or can Swap DG with BoD depends on how u like it but its a 2 way balanced build as i like to call it! U can try it for fun yourself note i mostly use this in exp as avarice helps alot in the lanning phase since 1st/2nd skill can grant u that +10 gold per hit(4s cooldown)
having slow on the cannon from percentage of magic power is a huge advantage for magic bane in teamfights, chasing and escaping becomes much easier, and the lack of cannon damage can be offset with lightning truncheon which is almost always used in magic build, the new passive makes physical bane feels somewhat weaker in teamfights (you don't hit tanks or frontliner fighters up close with a squishy full damage hero build, you'll get squashed and pinned down for the rest of the enemy team to finish you) but seems there's something going on with it, like how the % hp damage doesn't trigger spellvamp but it triggers lifesteal instead, i might want to try if it works with crits too
Thank you for bane guide
I finally made the balance build of bane and this is the item you're going to use magic shoes, endless battle, genius wand, war axe, blood wing and immortality this item wasn't effective before but now it's very effective.
Depends on preference to imo
The game is very good, I hope I get noticed like you❤️
An interesting build i found was mage/tank, just build clock pf destiny, lightning truncheon, oracle, antique quirass and blood wings
He will have really high healing, decent damage from passive and skills + be very tanky and hard to kill
That's what I'm doing, although what I use is tenacity, warrior boots, COD, Talisman, Oracle, Holy crystal, blood wings.
@@yuridc1780I use the mana boots, talisman, holy Crystal, ice wand, brute chessplate and oracle, to annoy the enemies,
I can replace oracle with cod,Hunter strike or Fleeting time
Which is very annoying for enemies,
Both fast and slow down enemies
I already mostly main Magic Bane since with clock of destiny and holy crytal, he's basically A burst that can kill all squishys, with 2nd, flicker, ult, then 2nd again to any of them, also, the heal is OP XD
What each build excels at
Magic:burst dmg can turn the tides of team fights from a distance but weak melee dmg
Physical:poke dmg only, weak heal but first skill dmg,the passive carries the physical build
I've never played Bane but i feel like Physical is better for him from personal experience of getting deleted because of his 1st skill
Especially when it bounces, my hp just gets melted and he doesn't really need to reach you if you're under tower, he just uses ult or 1st skill on the minions and you'll guaranteed to take damage
I use the magic Bane not only because of the amount of HP Regen that he can benefit but also because of the extra HP that you can get from the magic items. Also, his ultimate can easily wipe out the enemies when you’re helping your teammates on a team fight
in addition you cannot easily get drained with mana if you go with magic bane with clock of destiny. Compared to phys that you need to recall again to gain back mana.
@@ramramvanilla8738 definitely. That’s the item that I build after Arcane Boots so I won’t run out of mana easily, then I build Calamity Reaper for True Damage, cool down reduction, and mana regen
Magic bane has burst damage from Ult and Skill 2 and also have insane heal.(1k heal per 3 seconds is no joke.) But if he missed his skill. He is sitting octopus.
On the other hand with physical build his poke damage from skill 1 and passive is stronger. What u need to do is spam your skills and use the passive. You won't get lots of heal but you can destroy turrets faster. Whatever build you use, keep in mind that Bane is a lategame hero so you should focus on not dying and farming. Destroying turret should be your first priority. Build according to your team's line-up.
Early game physical bane is pretty strong. Can go toes to toes with exp laner. Just poke them if they try to freeze your lane. If they manage to hide in bushes just last hit minnion with first skill. I actually can win a fight with freya and alpha early game with physical bane.
Magic bane also have slow effect on his 1st skill..
I choose hybrid. Just full physical dmg and pen 1st 3 items aside from boots then have bloodwings as last item both good for hp, magic damage and heal for 2nd skill. Then also provide movement spd for additional mobility
For me tbh, becuz of the new update, i started to take the tank build oute cuz of his new passive and 1st skill..also phy.bane is good but its most downsides is that the moment you ran out of skills to cast, it becomes one of the advantages of the enemy same as mage bane...so i as a bane main, i now prefer to build him full tank build or hybrid build like 3 physical build and 2 magic build to be enough for poking and bursting enemies...
3:42 and I took that personally.
I like to go crazy with mage bane. I go for 2 or 3 Blood Wings to reach 1000+ magic damage. It feels awesome to kill people with his skill 2 and ult. Sometimes I also end up being a front liner even with a full magic build because of the insane heal and less than 2 sec cooldown of skill 2.
2 is enough on late game i replace boots with talisman
i dont use divine glaive since the only hero tht can withstand mge bane combo is a tank
I still love the arrival bane with mix physical and magic game play xD
Video Idea i always wonder if tank build or magical build is better for support heroes
I use Calamity Reaper on Bane after Clock of Destiny, his basic attacks (especially with Passive) deal high amounts of damage without defense stopping it as it is True Damage. He has a crazy amount of sustain as well with Concentrated Energy and Queen's Wings, not even Anti-Heal can stop his sustain. Only Heavy CC can shut him down. Heck, I don't even use boots on Magic Bane.
If you're wondering, Full Build is:
Clock of Destiny
Calamity Reaper
Holy Crystal
Concentrated Energy
Blood Wings / Divine Glaive
Queen's Wings / Oracle
Need more heroes like him
honestly it depends on game mode. i've always using physical build on brawl match and mage build on ranked and classic.
I do hybrid build for bane and it works pretty fine
i use hybrid tank/magic build. which has either debuff item or buff item. Bane is good at supporting in the back line when the enemy is tanky but if the enemy is squishy i play bane as a physical attacker.
*Me builds a tank build*
There is three, actually
This dose make bene very versatile i like it
As a hybrid bane player, I see this as an absolute win
hello idol early po
Give the Unpopular Heroes some spotlight also.
Ex. Hanzo: Which is better Crit build or the Trinity Attack SPD build.
I dont remember his skill 2 dealing crit dmg which is his main dmg
@@Valome_Virtual_Gravedigger You can cancel Hanzo's second it's just a Gap closer, With his Basic atk you can 3 shot any squishy hero.
@@lowrence5579 oh ok
Wait how short is his basic attack again
Magic Bane seems strong even in Jungle. But i just love the bouncing Bullet kills on Physical Pen Build Bane. It's so satisfying especially on Brawl.
I was planning to test for Bane how about 3 item magic and 3 item physical with mage emblem. In the late game, it's always physical potion because of the huge. As expected, Bane getting to strong after the build physical and magic at the same time.
so how's the result of your test?
The result it's too strong for him. Gladly, moonton finally nerf him because of the new passive and the other skills. Every player always pick bane explaner/jungler/roam in different roles.
Terlalu late game klo mau main hybrid. Susah mid gamenya
I always go with a semi tank mage bane for survivability and decent sustain and damage on multiple target
When I play bane as the jungler, I always choose jungle emblem with hybrid and cd BS. My items would be penetration items, BOD, and magic item with percentile or blood wings. The damage of both physical and magic are really good on enemies, jungle camps, and tower push.
(items: boots, BOD, heptaseas, malefic, divine g, holy crystal or blood wings)
ps. just sharing🙂
bod malefic holy and divine plus immortality much better imo
Question: would buying holey crystal just be better than buying genius wand? I just the other magic pen item and then holy crystal when I play mage bane
It depends how you play bane with different type of playstyle, even though bane mage build can be helpful and same with the traits physical build..
That buff on his passive is very useful for us mage bane users we can now easily push and kill lord/turtle.
I didn't try physical bane i always spam mage bane... I'll try physical one hope it bounce to the right target
It's my new hero I got about 80 matches with him , canon is definitely dirtiest thing I ever seen that's why I love Bane I hope he gets me to another Myth lvl this season 🎉
Lol I've been spamming tank build Bane and it's just my favorite one right now jsjs
You missed third bane variety and it's called tank bane. As for magic build, I was using that before last update in almost all matches but after update i use more physical and tank bane. Reason for not using magic is nerfed healing comparing to before. Reason to use physical bane is double splash damage on first skill. And reason to use tank bane is hp based damage of enemy on passive
Adding a comment based on a Reddit post I saw yesterday :
"Mana boots. Clock. Holy crystal. Blood wings. Another Bloodwing. One more Bloodwing. This is the way"
And boy does he sustain in every team fights! 1600 heal every 2 seconds, he does almost the same with his ultimate. I prefer his magic build now.
My bane magic build is as follows:
Magic shoes > COD > LT > Holy Crystal > Calamity Reaper > Blood Wings
My emblem: Mage
Mastery +5% CDR
Catastrophe +5% Magic Power
Talent: Bargain Hunter
The thing i like about this build is it gives 1000+ true damage from calamity reaper if you have full build+Magic portion which kinda makes up for the penetration and it will also make his passive useful and the slow from 1st skill will reach 90%+ slow effect and will get 40% CDR reaching his max potential.
You guys should try this build
can you do karrie next attack speed or crit build
btw bane second skill scaleup with time so you should use it before it end for full advantage
I wonder what will happen if you combine physical and magic items with him.. is the emblems Also applicable?
Yoo elgin ❤
How about natan? What is the best build for him rn?? And also the emblem?
Now that bane's passive is hp based, when i use it in either exp or jungle,i make the enemy heroes like minions
Test roger full crit and full penetration when the next update comes
Both builds get affected quite heavily once its online
I use hybrid build with bane. Bod, blood wings, hunter strike, genius wand, and holy crystal
I always use Physical Mixed With Magic, so like I add normal magic Items and I add some physical Items
Why dont you try hybrid build? Physical + magic item? Thanks
vale, damage 2nd vaccum ss, vs fly 2nd burst ss
and difference between blue and red first skill :) thank youu
Not having a Hybrid build option thats a combination of both is unfortunate. That's what I wanted to see
My idol elgit legit I now know how to bane
Wow
He's legit
😊😊
what does hybrid do with endless battle and calamity reeaper?
Honestly the only problem with the magic ban is that you need to charge the second skill to get maximum damage.
I play mage 'cause wind nature is a huge impact.
We can use mage empure rage for mana sustainability and magic power and full physical build. i will try the effect later on classic
Zilong crit vs trinity build + penetration is next???
One thing that is insanely overlooked is his 2nd skill deals AOE thus overall higher dmg in teamfights mid to late game, not to mention he heals 3x more with magic build build making him a great poker/reaper but I still love having the option of making physical when my teams has enough sustain heros, bc physical bane while dealing more dmg 1v1 also dies faster. All in all I still orefer magic build despite the small nerfs and drawbacks since I only olay solo queue and can't rely on teammates
Whats the nerf?
@@FilipinoPride10 they reduced the magic scaling of his ult, it now deals more DMG with physical builds (used to be 50/50, on the other hand his 2nd skill now has higher magic scaling and lower physical scaling. I've done over 3k with his 2nd skill, that's insane. And all that is AOE
can you do masha next?
tank item masha vs attackspeed masha
my build is; Rapid boots, Corrision Schyte, Cursed Helmet, Guardian Helmet, Brute Force, Twilight Armor, (Queens wings/Immortallity cycle)
Martis next please
i prefer bane being a hybrid (physical items like BoD, Endless, and Hunter Strike with two magic item like holy crystal and blood wings and when i remove the boots i usually purchase frozen truncheon)
How about for lesley assassin build and markmens build
I like magic bane because i don't have to worry about healing myself and i can just buy elegant jem so i can save a ton of mana and the heal is to op
Mage vs Tank Alice, Johnson.
Burst vs Cooldown Nana.
Magic vs Tanky Rafaela (and other healers)
Compare Assassin franco like kenzy style or normal tank franco.
Hii can u try esmeralda mage build vs tank build
i prefer mix build, i usually build a boot, 2 physical item, magic item : holy crystal/blood wings, icequeen wand, burning wand,)
I prefer Tank with Talisman for mana regen + spam of 2nd to sustain.
They should give his 1st skill magical scalling as well
It does, although it's not dmg, it's slow that scales
I use bane depends on the enemy, if i choose to a bit sustain and big phisical attack, i choose hybrid but expensive build (BOD, Malefic Roar, Hunter Strike, Devine Glave and Blood Wings)
Split damage is usually a bad idea considering the heroes have innate physical and magic resistance
I guess imo I will use Mage Bane as Sidelaner and Physical Bane as Jungle
Reasons only being Mage can heal himself better and healing self isn't really needed for junglers
But vice versa is also possible (if taking the cost of items into consideration, physical bane is more cost efficient than mage bane)
Next please natan i dont know which more powerful in natan physical or magical
i prefer mage on exp lane. the sustain is no joke. it has saved me a lot of time from ganks
Do people not run calamity reaper or twin blades on the magic build
next video do harley please
can you try Mage and Physical Natan?
For Pushing and if you are a Jungler Physical is way better but it most enemies are range and Squishy go for Magic
