To the people of Orange Beach, my heart goes out to you. It will be okay. Help each other. Your town is still there. I will be praying for you. From the heart of a Hurricane Michael survivor in the FL Panhandle.
My home is east of here, approx. 65 miles northeast of Mexico Beach where as you know we took a really hard it from Hurricane Michael a couple years ago. I had a large amount of damage to my home and lost a lot of beautiful trees but I found the weak spots and rebuilt the house stronger so the next hurricane won't damage me so badly but unfortunately can't replace all those trees so easily. This part of the country with these beautiful beaches and sea is a wonderful place to live but we have to pay for it by dealing with these occasional storms. We simply have to keep on keepin' on and rebuild stronger than ever so we don't have to worry as much about the next one. God bless you Orange Beach, you will come back better than ever.
I'm so sorry for all the devastation & suffering of all who have lost their homes and their possessions,And my deepest sympathy is with those who have lost their loved ones in this. But please know that there is hope in Christ Jesus who gave His life for all humanity so we could live in eternal peace and joy with Him one day. Please let the Lord Jesus Christ take all the pain & hurt from you let Him comfort you and lift you up and give you strength in this time of sorrow Jesus Christ loves you all more then you could possibly know and He longs for you to call upon His Holy name for forgiveness & salvation, to give the free gift of the Father to you which is everlasting life. Please call upon His Holy name and be saved through Him. And may GOD give you all comfort and peace in this so very devastating times. GODS BLESSING be upon you all now and always. 🕊🙏🕊🙏🕊🙏🕊🙏🕊🙏🕊🎺✝💜✝🎺🕊🙏🕊🙏🕊🙏🕊🙏🕊🙏🕊
The road there lies right next to the back bay where most people keep them docked so when the water came up and the wind started pushing them they just got strewn all over the place.
This storm was a lot worse than expected. When it dropped to a Cat 1 thought a little wind Damage and some Flooding, but this ended up being close to a Cat 3 when it made landfall based on the Damage coming out.
At the 5:57 min mark shows the covered entrance to Romer Towers with roof gone, we were in building right next to it Romer Place tan building in back ground and watched this roof come off. 110 MPH. But all in all from a person goes back to 1947 hurricane and has done some of the real bad one the over all damage to condos and area around Orange Beach is not that bad. The electrical grad big parts is all there and standing. Beaches did suffer erosion. I am only aware of one death.
If that tattered flag isn't how this country's feels right now I don't know what is. But the positive outlook is Old Glory still was holding on and that's a good sign.
I do not understand how people can justify owning a boat and not having the resources to move it when they see a hurricane coming. I can imagine it is a difficult task, but they seem to take unusual risk. Can that big boat be fixed ?
As the next President of the United States, the only real Republican President in 2020, and the only President who has Real-World Hurricane and Natural Disaster Response Experience, I will give Alabama, Florida, Puerto Rico, Mississippi, Louisiana, Texas, and the entire Atlantic Coast the best Physical and Economic Aid that I can .. My Response Teams will assist with the complete rebuild and recovery of every community affected by the Last several seasons of Hurricane Damage .. Vote #BradHartliep #President in November -- No President will do more for the People of the South than Florida, Alabama and Texas Resident Brad Hartliep ..
My family every year rents a house right on the beach we thought hurricane sally would only be a category 1 hurricane and in the middle of the night we lost power and so did everyone else in gulf shores but in the morning after praying all night are house had no damage what so ever while other houses had holes in the side of them
Nope. They normally tied to a dick with anchors. This storm was predicted to go to Louisiana but made a west turn at last minute. This is what happens when people di not prepare.
Where are you going to move boats to? Smaller boats can be trailered but where can you park them? Bigger boats weigh too much and are never trailered. We had a 40ft and a 48ft SeaRay bridge boats. Those are big boats and were either at the dock or stored indoors for the winter. We lived in IL at the time. The boats at the docks were swept away by the storm serge. You cannot stop the impact/powerful force of water.
@@robertrafferty4102 I believe they drove them by water away from the storm. Evacuees most likely took them to wherever they went. We went to Motel 6 in Destin. Luckily we got a room because they were hard to come by. It was kind of sad with everybody there from Waveland and the coast. People had pets, boats, furniture and some brought barbeque pits to cook for everybody.
If they pay you enough you can rebuild.... After you take a month to recover from the damage. Or do like I did... Go away to someplace cooler like the mountains and come back in December when the storms are over
@@jennifers.5274 It's actually not as bad as they are making it out to be. Lot of people starting cleaning yesterday. Many people are returning to work today. By the end of the weekend most everything will look normal. Don't let the broken cars and boats fool you. Lot of people who are upside down on a loan have gap insurance. They use this as an opportunity to get out of the loan. Overall, this was a minor inconvenience of a storm. The news is trying to make it much more than what it is.
What an ugly ugly development, no awareness of the natural environment .... and the result was inevitable as one can see ....... shit-rules! never mind the quality, think of the width?

I will start chasing hurricanes this year. Michael was such a cool storm. Sally was Ok but not as good.

and moved slower than walking speed, dumping so much rain, not to mention the fury of high speed wind
Who's boat is this boat?
Hurricane season has a few more months to go! Wow. Prayers for recovery from this disaster.

What I do not get is how insurance companies still insure these poor people. I mean every year they get hammered. Their premiums must be insane.
It’s been atleast 15 years since gulf shores has had a hurricane
I didn't know boats were left in the water when a hurricane is going to hit. I thought they were moved to higher ground.
