I discuss whether I prefer construction management over being a setting out engineer. I am as in decisive as ever so there you have it. The site is coming together now and deadlines are starting to loom.
I also leave a trap for the hot diet coke guy.......You'll see exactly how that went.

I really appreciate your videos! My husband is a project manager in water/wastewater treatment and I’m always so curious as to what he does all day because he works very long hours. It helps me appreciate all of y’all’s work ethic!
Sam O ah yeah the hours can be long 👍🏻
Sam O Iv been so interested in going into the water design industry. May I ask how you husband went about getting into his career field! Any advice would be so appreciated! :)
Thank you so much for making these videos. I'm torn between a few types of engineering and construction is one of them. I'm super interested in knowing what you do.
Same, how did it go?
hey, love your videos! I am currently pursuing a degree in construction engineering but I always get so confused on what exactly is the difference between civil engineering and construction engineering. Could you explain some of the differences please, thanks!
ah thanks! I'll make a video for this real soon :)
@@SheWhoDaresWins please do! That would be super helpful.
Corporate wanker! Hahaha, love it. As a woman that can do both PM and engineering you have serious minerals💪🏾
ha thanks! :)
You are great for answering these important questions
Glad you think so!
You'll make more money in the long run with a construction management/construction science degree than you ever will with an engineering degree.
Blake B what makes u say that, im in highschool and trying to figure out what i wanna study at uni
It’s true. Lot more hours, lot more stress lot more people to deal with as a construction manager.
cj but thats fine tho if they are rewarded handsomely
@@randomperson1221 Yeah up to you Made about 15k more a year in CM
You can study civil engineering and be a construction manager.
I want to apply ms in the civil engineering program so which subject is better like structural engineering or construction project management as a job opportunity.
Hi! Hi! Asaph karanja kinuthia for anstalt constructors dubai
It's all about operation of the fun machines for me 👍 I'm not even ashamed to say that 🤗! Plus I am Class B CDL provisional certificate passenger endorsed re-licenced. 5 years medical leave of absence. Good to be back in the game 👍!
Nice one!
I’m studying building and construction engineering.but I’m a little bit confused about the future work ,
Zhwaa 18 cool. What confuses you?
This Is A Man's World well I don’t know how I would work ,is it in office or on site ?!,is there any specific area I should work in or mainly what’s the work of b&c engineer?,thanks for replying
Zhwaa 18 no probs. Well you can do both. You might have to start on site and then with more experience you might be more office based with site visits happening every week depending on the project. Best to try both before deciding. I would say that experience of management is gained at a fast pace on site
This Is A Man's World thank you very much for the information and answers ,i have another question,do you think this specialty and this area of work can have or need (business or company)?i am really into starting your own business, but I don’t have a lot of information about the field!
Did you decide whether you prefer being a PM or Engineer yet? What Engineering degree do you have?
Dielectric38 She isn't a degreed engineer
Dielectric38 hey! I would probably say engineer at the moment. Managing people can be very tough and time consuming. For me engineering is very rewarding physically and mentally
@@SheWhoDaresWins Hi, why physically rewarding? Arent engineers in a chair all day?
@@robertcaes8498 ha ha not me. Site engineers are definately in out in the field putting up profiles or checking lines and levels. Desk work is only around 20 percent of our work
Is there any STEM certified program for "construction management"....in US....if yes then which universities are providing this program..??
I will be grateful if you share those universities names.🙂
@@hyderahmed312 My local community College offers a bachelor's for construction management
Cal State Long Beach, Cal Poly, Colorado State, Cal State Chico
Construction sites are a bit more strict in term of security standard I shall say. But is just based on what I see in your video which might not represent all the construction sites in UK though.
im a civil engineer too
after civil engineering bachler what to do next and your video like 😊
Ah the job search!
Does anyone have experience with getting an associate in construction management and using that hand in hand with years of experience and getting hired on with a good company? Any info would help
On the job work experience is more important than a college degree when it comes to construction management. You can certainly get an associate degree with hand on experience to become a construction manager. You can also get a bachelors degree in civil Engineering and work as a civil engineer for about an year and two and then move on to construction management. Hope that helps
@@zaid6142 what if I study for construction Management, and then go for the bachelors in civil engineering?
It'll be of great use if you can differentiate between Construction Management and Construction Project Management. Or are they both same? In Canada we have two different course, just as i mentioned. Its pretty confusing on what to choose among them.
ReselMan Construction Project Management seems to be better, it has Structural, where as Construction Management does not.

Thanks for Sharing👌👌👌
phyohtetko ko your welcome
I doing currently bsc in construction management when i graduate i might do civil engineering and construction management master degree any thought
Great choice but get some on-site done experience too
Is there any demand of safety officer
do you think it’s smart to get a construction management degree & then a civil engineering masters or which route would you take ?
Civil and then construction
I honesty would get out of education and get on site. Having a masters won’t put you any higher on the pecking order it just means you have less real experience

@@SheWhoDaresWins Are you for real....I'm considering masters in construction project management
@@oluwoleodetola1626 I mean it won't do you any harm but equally its a lot of money for something that won't really put you above anyone else who has onsite experience. What type of engineering are you wanting to go into ?
So when they say property manager is it the same exact thing as a construction manager?
Hey. No that is something entirely different I am afraid
This Is A Man's World shoot I meant construction management being same as project management NOT property management that’s my mistake haha
@@Anonymous-bc6zl ah I see. Yeah then it's the same thing :)
Thanks for sharing! When you say "engineer" is the full title civil engineer? Still learning, thanks in advance.
Hey no probs. Thanks for watching. I am a site engineer which is a type of civil engineer. Hope this helps
@@SheWhoDaresWins thanks!
Is it good paying
Both are varied but decent salaries
So at the moment, I am on the quest to completing my civil engineering degree and plan on using my degree as construction project manager. Now my question is a project manager the same thing as superintendent where they are on site in a trailer, checking up on different foreman's making sure that the project gets done. Also, what do mean that you prefer Engineer than Pm really not sure about that point.
Hulk2537 sounds like a great plan! Yeah project managers for the company I work for are generally 50/50 on site in the office or at a head office off site. Regarding my engineering vs project management, I prefer the engineering as project management can get a little boring and incredibly stressful. Engineering has a nice balance between being busy with a little stress and not having to constantly take part in meetings or being stuck in front of a computer screen. Only my point of view though. I know plenty pm’s who love it. Guess you have to try it first to see
This Is A Man's World okay, makes sense. Also I just watch your video How I became an Engineer. So it all makes sense now. Thank you.
Hulk2537 no probs! Best of luck with your studies and career
Theres no way you don't have more subs!?
ah thanks! too kind
Thanks
How do you forget the water service? Lol
ThatsTooIndie I know crazy right! 😬🙈
Thank you for the upload but you know fek all about construction.
Which is company you are working?
can you tell me what is the difference between a CIVIL ENGINEERING DEGREE /\ CIVIL ENGINEERING MANAGEMENT DEGREE /\ CONSTRUCTION MANAGEMENT
What are you doing at the moment? Im curious to know since it’s been 4 years
Tell us what you are doing now........I hope he is still alive 🙏
I'm gonna have my construction engineering college interview soon, i'm scared because I'm not sure what will they ask me :")
Go on!
Go on!
Hey Neo, I am not entirely sure what they might ask either, sorry! Hopefully they will just be looking at how enthusiastic you are and that you have the right personal and educational qualities to become an engineer!
How’d it go? I just had mine and waiting to hear back. I was with them for a whole day and it was pretty grueling, not going to lie.
J H i didnt really remember what I said during the interview because i was too nervous..but yeay i got accepted !!! Starting college this july. I was surprised tho because i didnt even know what i answer XD
Nice one madam..
I Love you
Can mechanical engineer be a construction manager?
Kundani Nemutamvuni what?
Yes, one of the PMs I work with has his BS & MS in Mechanical Engineering. He worked as a design engineer for an HVAC engineering firm before switching to construction. You’ll probably start off as a Project Engineer or Assistant PM, but people w/ engineering degrees (specifically mechanical, architectural, and civil) do very well in construction management.

Did you expect her to wear a dress and heals on a construction site? Lol
