  • 3D Mammography is the commercial term for digital breast tomosynthesis. We define tomosynthesis starting from linear blurring tomography, to shift and add tomosynthesis and discuss where tomosynthesis lies in between projection digital mammography and true 3D imaging offered by dedicated breast CT systems which image in the pendant geometry.
This is of interest for Radiology professionals including Radiologic Technologists (radiographers), and Radiologists.

That was a great explanation of Tomosynthesis. I'm a Project Manger for a hospital and I sometime need additional understanding about new equipment, what is being used for, and why departments need to upgrade their equipment. These brief tutorials help me understand the reasoning behind why certain equipment is better than others and also how the logistics of the equipment may factor into the design of a new space. Thanks again for that very clear and concise explanation of Tomosynthesis.

Now I discovered that tomosynthesis is a little bit different from linear tomography
