Haha I wish I had thought of that for the video 😂

Fun video! Do you use the gun only to turn on the TV or do you have a way to choose which command to send?

Yeah, I managed to miss mentioning it in the video 😝 it can be programmed to be the remote for any number of it devices. There are comments on the code that hopefully explain it!

You seem like a great youtuber. This can't be your first time doing this right? Anyway, awesome video and keep it up, always dislike how most these youtubers projects are crazy hard or expensive and you hit a sweet point!

How does it know which signal to send for what you are pointing at? Like, if you want to turn on your TV instead of your fan, do you need to scroll through on your screen to select the TV?
I assume there is no way to automatically have it set for everything?

Yeah, you have to program in the different devices you want to use and there are buttons to choose the device and the function!

Mostly from the game at the sporting goods store. Although I had been thinking about how to make remotes more fun for a while!

Excellent. The remote supplied with my TV sucks, the back is rounded so it must be held to use and the power button is where select should be. I have those Goodwill laser tag guns and plenty of pro minis and micros. I'm doing this.

Great work! I tried making the board the screen and modes work fine. However I cant seem to get any output for the IR LED from pin 3. I have tried on a 5v and 3v Pro mini any ideas what might be wrong. I have also tried just using a standard LED to see if flashes and it only does one quick flash when connected. But when I ground pin 13 the led doesn't flash or anything?

Hmm, have you tried any of the other input pins to see if they change whats on the display? Connecting pin 13 to ground should work and you should see some flashing on a regular LED if you connect it from pin 3 to ground.
