I am sooooooo appreciative of this tutorial! Just made one with pockets in a cotton fabric that is blue with white polka dots. It is incredibly comfortable and I am in search of more fabric so I can make another!

The thread in the bobbin is elastic thread that stretches, as she demonstrated by pulling on it. The method she’s using is called Shirring. In most cases you zigzag over a piece of string then pull the string through the zigzag stitches to gather the material. By using elastic thread it will automatically gather the material, so a step can be eliminated.

@@henriettanovember4733 It's important that you look up how to properly shirr with elastic. You have to be mindful of needle size, stitch length, and presser foot tension.
