I absolutely lost it at 2:12 😂. Honored to be considered for the desk. Also love the commitment to printing out the props. You deserve the 100k and more! Congrats again!
Well your videos where a big part of why I decided to get into the TH-cam game; so for that I think you deserve a spot on the desk! 🤙🏼
Hilarious and relatable! Definitely agree that data analysts and data engineers are best friends... until they talk about timelines haha!
Yea, and often they are the same person.
There is a huge overlap between engineers and analyst. At least, they need to know the workflow pieces of each other to sync their products well
"6 months. Minimum." This was so insanely accurate, I kind of cried a little
Been following you, Ken and Tina for months now and honestly you guys are the best! So much fun and it has been quite a smooth journey of getting the insights of the industry. Thank you for all the awesome contents! Hoping to crack a good internship pretty soon! Cheers from India! :)
Good luck with the internship Kunal, keep up the hard work and I know you'll get it!
I'm just entering this world of Data Science, I started just analysing data base on Excel and currently i'm doing a certification in BI. I really appreciate you doing these content in so a playful way, makes it all funnier. I'm just at the top of the iceberg right now of all the knowledge I wanna get and your channel is only making it way more interesting, makes me believe there's a universe to learn about these, I'm finally getting to know what I wanna do for my life. Greetings from Chile
This is awesome to hear of your journey so far Martin! Glad the videos are helping and keep up the hard work with your studies!
Data Nerds! I am beyond appreciative of all of you as this channel has grown to 100K this year!! Thank y'all so much for your kind words and support!
UPDATE: The 100K Giveaway was a HUGE success and has ended!!! (12/5/2021) Thank you all!
More data nerd content to come; we're just getting started! 🤓💪🏼 #RoadToOneMillion
I'm a bit late for the promo link on Coursera. I don't see a banner now when clicking the link. Anyway good content, I'm also learning data analyst and want to be my career path moving forward.
@@lanex1635 It should work, maybe clear the cookies in your browser? but I just tried the link and the banner is still there:

First off big congrats on 100k! Super excited for you. Also, thanks for giving us data engineers a little love :)
Well this country was built by Data Engineers so it's the least I can do!
Thanks Ben!
Lmaaoo the Ken and Tina picture DEAD 😂 You are AWESOME Haha !! Congratulations for the 100k ! Well deserved indeed !
Ha! Little worried about them seeing this.. haha. And thanks Ibraheem! Appreciate the kind words!
Great job. You’re definitely my favorite in this space. Let’s see if we can get you to the next milestone.
Thank you, this truly means a lot to hear! Let's see about that next milestone!!
Congrats again on the 100K, Luke! This video cracked me up. The facial expressions killed me. 🤣
Loved the video Luke, you really know the humor of your audience, well done. A "Data Scientist | Analyst" Label, in the beginning, could help, I had to look at the thumbnail twice to figure out which was which.
Funny as always and thanks for free month for the course Data nerd career begin!!! Keep up the good work Luke :)
Did you say "plumber for data science"?! LMAO 😂😂 Congrats on 100KI
I did!! 🙊😂 Thank you! And right back at ya, you’ve been killing it on TH-cam!!
Hahahha! It was fun and informative too !Great vedio with a description of the key roles of particular role in a data team ❤️❤️
Ha! Thanks for the kind words Saidur, very much appreciated. Just trying to make this data science thing more fun
Congratulations on 100K subscribers 🎉 Your videos are awesome! Hopefully you can make a video about different types of analysts (financial analyst, business analyst, data analyst, etc.)
Ken, Luke, TIna and ALEX! All of you are helping me on my journey and Id love to see you all in a video one day
I started with Tina, then I found you and then got to Ken. There a few more but it's been very helpful all your videos. Hopefully by next year I will ready and starting as a data scientist.
Good luck with your data science journey, Ken and Tina have excellent content!
You should def do tech reviews and data course recommendations for people unfamiliar with the field. They would be a blast!
The Step Brothers reference made this gold😂
Congrats on 100k, Luke
😂 May have stolen some quotes from movies here and there.. 🤣 Thanks Sipho!!
Hi Luke, Congratulations on 100k. Thanks for the giveaway. Really appreciated
I like this type of content bro. More fun to understand within a story than by lecture
This is good to know, I’ll see about incorporating more content like this. 🤙🏼🤙🏼
Congrats on the 100K Luke! Don't forget to make the follow-up video in 6 months when your data engineer finally delivers that pipeline (and you're at 300K)! "I need data, data, data, I can't make bricks without clay!" - Sherlock Holmes
Thanks Robert! I’ve been appreciating your support and comments this past year so thanks to you as well! And stay tuned for the follow up video, I think that’s a great idea!
Woah dude, you called it! It's been a year and he's at 300k. It's time for that follow up video Luke 😃
Hahaha I feel this! Got my degree in data science, work as a data analyst but trying to learn skills of a data engineer! Think I like the data analyst and engineer part more too! Great video!!
I agree on liking the data analyst and engineer part more as well!! 🙌🏼 Thanks for checking out the background on the Tina and Ken pic!
Just transitioned from an analyst to engineer... Specifically because I loved the engineer buddies I met on the job.
hahahaha. Interesting. Gives a lot of clarity. Thank you.
Now you are putting me and the other DE into spotlight Luke. Thanks!
Love me some DE! They are such a vital member of the data science team!! Thanks for watching Michael!
very funny and to the point 👌
the last part is so painfully true
Love it! Is it really weird to have a framed picture of your favorite TH-camr??? 😳
🤣 If only my other subscribers knew how true this actually is. Miss you 😘
This is actually a pretty accurate scenario of me in a group video call with 2 of my friends (3 of us were in the same class, same major, informatics engineering). Even the personalities are kinda spot on kekw.
Your acting pretty good to be honest. I’m a data analyst apprentice at Unilever. Great content.
Liked it a lot!!!!!
This is so funny and informative! Loyal subscriber from South africa
thanks Arnold!! I was actually trying to make it partially informative, so I'm glad that came across!
great video :)
I loved this. My main takeaway is the analyst drinks my favorite Bubly flavor.
The funny way to differentiate between data scientist, data engineer, and data analyst
The fact that I'm learning Tech and understood everything they said tells me I'm on the right track😂
"Current building a better version of airflow" lmao true.
As a Data Engineer, I have no words 😂
I am a data analyst intern..i like your informative and funny videos.
So as someone who eventually one day wants to work in data science industry, is there an entry level job role that one can apply as a starting point and just get promoted/ level up to a data science in time rather than just trying to apply for a data science position from the get go? I dont mind starting at the bottom and working my way up the ladder. Also do you know what the difference is between experience and education and challenge of getting hired is between a Data Analyst and a Data Scientist?
At least the data engineer gets a closet. The business intelligence analyst is outside in the hallway on the floor working.
@@LukeBarousse Thanks for the great vids! By the way, do you have a video that explains what a Business Intelligence Analyst does?
@@goinggoinggone535 not yet. Seems to be a popular request. So stay tuned
The data scientist looks more semi professional than the other two.
Hi there, great video and really useful! I am considering changing careers and becoming a Data Analyst. I just had a question please - do you think in a few years time the role of a Data Analyst may be able to be completely done by a Data Scientist? Therefore there being less of a need for Data Analysts, as Data Scientists will have the skills to carry out the duties of the Data Analyst role. Thanks in advance
Petition to include Panda in the thumbnail. Also GG Luke, as usual amazing video
I'm really confused after this video what should I learn the better one 🤷🏻♂️
So, I guess it comes down to the differences in the term used after the word data or database.
Administrator - The Manager
Analyst - The Investigator
Architect - The Designer
Engineer - The Builder
Scientist - The Predictor
You need to have all aspects of data science covered or your efforts will be ineffective.
@manhtran8090 An engineer is involved in all of the stages to a certain extent and mainly focuses on building. An Architect focuses heavily on the requirement and design stages. The architect will usually have more experience than an engineer. Though, it will vary by organization.
You are doing an amazing work there.
I can't find the details to the giveaway, did you remove it?
They are in the description above. But here is the link:
lukeb.co/100kGiveaway
Holy hahahahaha now im seeing that im also interested in data engineering, so i guess ill take some courses on both and have a wider experience haha
Love me some data engineering, it's worth looking into if you're interested in data science!
@@LukeBarousse hey just an idea since i dont see any videos related to it on your channel, what about the difference between interviews within the data roles, like what type of questions you get asked, what type of projects would you recommend and so on, obviously with your touch of humor please
@@rodolforincon8431 Heck yeah, thanks for this recommendation, I like it. Let me see what I can do on this topic!
Hey Luke can you add business analyst or business intelligence analyst interacting with other like data scientist or data analyst or data engineer?
This is a heck of an idea! Writing it down now for a potential video, so thanks for this Konstantin
I’d like to become a business analyst from an accountant/accounting background would be great using powerBi excel, sql python etc...
@@konstantinradu4399 Thanks for sharing this; I definetly understand why you would appreciate this perspective then!
Thanks a lot luke for this opportunity
But bad that i already enrolled to this course and now can't get the free one month 😁
At least he gave a timeline...
Really want to jazz up a data engineer... ask them for their roadmap and priorities
6 months minimum lol I laughed too hard so true y'all🤣
Sorry your not getting anything done without the project manager and business analyst. ☺️
😂🤣 Unfortunately this is true Kelvin... made me cry a little inside thinking about this
I have done my b.tech Mechnical in 2015 but no experience so iam able for data science. Please Help me
If you are passionate and want to learn more about data science, then yes! Check out my channel for more content on this!
🤣🤣🤣 6 months minimum
Which one is a data analyst? I am confused.
If you fit all of them. Then you are AI Engineer)
Where can I get a desk photo of you?!
🤣😂 my picture would break the glass of the frame I’m put in.
BUT a pic of you on my desk! 😍😍😍
I'm watching this now 🤣 and it's already 6 month. Is DAG ready with the pipeline 🤣?
Three employees, and the only one providing value is the least paid...
/s
but not really...
why bash ds like dat. Love ur vids thou keep em coming
I'm lost. Is the guy with the white coat data scientist or analyst?
@@LukeBarousse thanks mate.. By that implications data analysts and engineers are the cooler ones 😀
At least consider Andrew Ng and Fei-fei Li in the frame pictures, the fake data scientist!
OMG I just saw this HAHAHA I am greatly honoured
😜 I've been waiting for this comment!! Glad you liked it!
