It was also verified by Teddy, who helped produce the Coup D'Etat in another interview. Teddy said that he thought it was about love and heartbreak but when he talked to GD, GD said "in the lyrics, I'm killing someone".

when people first told me about gd, they said he was a rapper. so i looked him up and listened to some big bang songs, and realized that he is totally a one of kind genre. Some of his earlier songs may be influenced by the western pop style, but i find the songs like windows or black, or more melodic songs are truly him. i never felt so strong about listening to someone's song and feeling like i'm walking through one's soul. this describes how much sincerity and authenticity he has on his creatures. I don't wanna use the word genius to describe him, cuz that will make it sound so easy for him and ignore his efforts. But indeed, he is a one of kind soul that God created him to be so special. glad he got on the right track for him.

I don't know if that's a traditional form in Asia, but in Western countries, they're "a subgenre of the traditional ballad form, the lyrics of which form a narrative describing the events of a murder, often including the lead-up and/or aftermath." They're gorgeous and macabre and beautiful. I love that Jiyong has added his own to the genre.
