@@louism-zw9ss The housing for this sight costs $50 for the housing alone. Sure, the total cost of the materials is $100, but you're not accounting for labor (which this sight is US manufactured) overhead, and the machine time to make these things.
Pro tip: get a POF roller cam pin, it goes past the piston rod with a little persuasion and stops the upper from getting chewed up. If you cant get one of those get a "slick" coated one.
Joshua ford Don’t worry about it lol, I got my PWS rifle (11.75 inch sbr) in December and I already have over 7k rounds through it and it’s been a real work horse, I absolutely love the combo of a 223 Wylde chambering with a 1:8 twist barrel. It’s given me great accuracy with a wide variety of ammo !
I remember EoTech having those issues with batteries beating up contacts and it's why all their newer optics have batteries perpendicular to the line of recoil. Still weird they wouldn't learn from EoTech's mistake. Steiner fanboys on suicide watch rn.

@@roscoep4850 can vouch. My aimpoint PRO hasn’t been spiked into rocks but it has fallen from 7ft heigh shelves straight onto hardwood floors a couple times. Has Been dropped on the ground outside when my rifle falls off from a tree or whatever I lean it against and has been hit against walls/barricades at the range. Whatever voodoo BS that aimpoint does is honestly amazing.
I own 7 (yep, 7) PWS rifles with countless rounds hurtled through them. I have had exactly one thing break: an extractor in a bcg which came from a full auto mk107 demo gun which had cycled thousands of rounds. That's a damn fine sample set, IMO. Love PWS

Hey Michael, I've got a Windham Arms, a Sign Sauer, and a Daniel Defense. I have two sons in their teens and I wanted them to be guaranteed to have an at platform regardless of the future political situation. They are all more or less in cqb configuration as that was all that was available to n Obama's second term while everyone was buying up EVERYTHING. A2 front sight, removeable handle, short forend, etc. Wish they had the "standard" options that are available now (full length forend, flat top, etc).
zmbisniper I would never disparage someone from taking up reloading but don't be surprised when it adds a whole new level of frustrations! (It's still worth it)... Reloading supplies, gear and components have not gone unaffected by the panic buying and increased deman. Heck, even before all this, certain powders and projectiles for some calibers were a PITA to get while similar factory ammo seemed abundant. Like I said though, still worth it, especially if you're a deal hunter!
@@skylined12 This. Though, I've managed to make up some decent performing loads with the more abundant powders available. In my area H335 is super easy to get ahold of. Cfe pistol is readily available as well. I've managed to make up loads for my rifle/pistols with these.
But I'm not a child so I will leave the backup sites on your gun. There's a random chance in falling while walking down the sidewalk and hitting your head and dying. I don't wear a helmet everywhere. You do you.

So much jinx that I have busted four higher end guns within a dozen mags, (usually less) and two Glocks including a G19 in its first 4rds, (the whole back end folded off at the grip modular pin to the rails!) I’m not saying Glocks are rubbish because all mass production guns will have the odd lemon in them, but two! (The other was a low count G22 RTF2 with a NY trigger that blew off the left rear rail).
I own PWS Mk116 (1st generation) , my friend had like 6 or 7 of them and used them extensively in his training company. Each and every one had the same problem with bolt (broken lugs) afer around 8000 rounds. One of my friend's rifle also had chamber reces broken. In the US changing bolt in BCG is not a problem. In my country however bolt is a registered firearm part and you have to have permit to own it (as if it was the whole gun). PWS did some service action and I had my bolt replaced "almost" for free. "Almost" because I had to pay some additional money (equivalent of 85-90 USD) for redtape paperwork related to changing registered firearm part. When I saw the title of the video I thought that you broke bolt ;)
@Travers Kilroy Cooper Alvirez Poland, European Union. Believe or not our gun laws are not the worst comparing to other european states :) It was not just bad part. As far as I know many early (Mod 1) PWS rifles had the same problem, that's why PWS did service action.

This is why, no matter how amazing modern optics can be, I always have BUIS on my rifles. Even on my rifles that have variable scopes. Nothing electronic is infallible.

Just picked up a MK 111 I plan to suppress. It's a dream to shoot and very handy. I love this rifle way more than I thought I would. It's a very interesting system compared to the short stroke. I like that it is more mechanically simple. On reassembly I just flip the rifle over, push the t-handle up to where the piston head detaches, so it rests against the head, and then just line the t-handle up with the notch. It should slide in seamlessly. Took me a half hour of frustration to learn.
Definitely interested to see how well it does. I have 3 PWS rifles and ran one through a two day defensive carbine class. Rained the entire weekend and the rifle was full of water, mud, you name it, and had zero issues through the 600 round course of fire with no cleaning (not that its an excessive round count) A few DI guns had some issues in the downpour on day two with going fully into battery 🤷🏻♂️
Could be the batteries, and not the sight, we shall see on the next video, apart from the let down, it seemed to be a nice sight, coupled with an accurate rifle, catch you in the next one.
I wouldn't stake my reputation on "brand new batteries - so it couldn't be that." I've recently had brand new AA batteries that didn't last long (in my HVAC control unit, of all things).

Damn if there was ever a reason to have BUIS this is a good example. How bout trying out the Holosun 509 next. Got a MK109 in .300 back in 2015. It’s like an AR15 and an AK had a baby. The long stroke piston recoil impulse feels better to me than it’s short stroke competition and man is it so much easier to clean than a DI weapon.
Energizer batteries have had me pulling my gray hair out too. I stopped using their AAA some time ago, perhaps their AA line is having difficulties too.
Professional audio/broadcasters stick with Duracell. Not only do they last .longer, they are actually made to PROPER dimensioms. Yes, some manufacturers, including some energizer factories, actually make their batteries slightly off correct dimensions! It can defintely cause battery malfunctions.
DID YOU FIND OUT WHAT THE PROBLEM WITH THE RED DOT WAS? As an electrical & HVAC contractor, I have learned the Energizer "Industrial" AA (Yellow Stripe) Are not the same quality as the MAX (Red Stripe) or the Lithium (Blue Stripe). The industrial batteries do not hold up well with high or low frequently vibration. Dropping them in a mini mag light is also detrimental, oftentimes breaking the internal connections. I prefer to use the Lithium for long term use because they don't seem to leak corrosive fluids. JUST MY 2¢ WORTH.
My Mk116 Mod2-M has never been cleaned and has over 1100 rounds through it (not much) but I have the gas system turned down one notch and it lays all of the brass in nice, small, consistent piles.
I have 4 different PWS rifles, so you can say I’m a fan. In 10 years I’ve had exactly one jam, it was on my Diablo ( the first Gen 5.56 chambered 7 inch barreled SBR ) and it’s happened at minus 12 degrees Fahrenheit. I tried using some tetra gun grease on it in the summer which is a thicker Teflon grease, never had a problem with it and forgot that I had put it in the rifle until I took it apart to check it over after the jam. The grease had frozen solid messing with the cam pin. I shoot them a lot but don’t do very much maintenance, they don’t need it. I shoot them suppressed most of the time and still don’t clean them very often so I’m guessing that the gun you’re testing will go until you get tired of testing it👍👍 insanely accurate rifles. That said, I’m glad to see you testing one because if anyone is going to get a lemon or break one, it’s you.
As for batteries, I called direct tv once about my remote not working. They told me to use specific brands of batteries as there were slight differences in the length of them. I thought the person was putting me on, but I experimented and compared some and they were right! It affected the contact points.

That’s why I don’t get people spend all that money on big name brands when most of it components or put together by same manufacturers that produce other budgets optics or scopes, also manufacturer overseas 🤦🏽♂️ yes anything can fail but why spend thousands when you can get something lower cost that does the same.
I’ve put a minimum of 5,000 rounds of 5.56 through my AUG A3 with the Steiner DRS1X. Neither rifle or optic have been babied. It’s held zero, beautiful glass and a reticle that is outstanding. Maybe I’m just lucky, but I like the Steiner and if I buy another compact rifle I’ll put another DRS1X on it.

Again, for the millionth time, if you want a red dot just buy/steal/whatever it takes and get an freaking Aimpoint. Especially if you're going to drop 600+ on one.
I'm afraid you'll experience a failure much sooner from getting oil on the piston. PWS strongly recommends zero oil forward of the bolt. Otherwise, the oil and carbon build up will form a concrete like substance in the piston tube that will cease up the gun. I have a lot of confidence the PWS will run every bit as well as the BCM without cleaning, but probably not in this instance. I know you said you won't open the gun again for awhile, but I'd consider doing so just to wipe the oil off the piston. Rifle could fail early, which could give PWS a bad name as a result.
I don't think a light coating of lubrication on the piston will create a sludge. I always put a light coat on mine and experienced no buildup whatsoever. Of course, I also clean my gas tube after a couple thousand rounds. JMHO, YMMV.
After 19:00 you can see just how inconsistent the ejection pattern really is. Hmmm... seems like the range is from 2 o’clock to possibly 430. That strikes me as strange. I’m sure many people would consider this an “acceptable” range of ejection, but with the many rifles I’ve used, I haven’t seen that wide a range of ejection without adjusting the gas system in between shots. My rifles’ ejection pattern typically has a 30 minute variance, not 2-2.5 hours though. Not blaming it all on the rifle though, I’ve experienced some inconsistency with Federal factory target loads. So it most likely has to do with the ammo. I’ve run a couple PWS rifles and they are my good friend’s favorite piston rifle. Neither of us have run into any problems with several thousand rounds down range between us. Thanks for the video! And yeah I’ve been skeptical of that Steiner. For the price, I’d like longer battery life. But I’m a battery life snob. 🤣

It's very difficult for an old timer like me to put one of these sights on a rifle that I've fired for 40 years with iron sights and zero failures and making hits at 300 + yards.
@@videodistro I really want to try one and practice with it to see IF I can adapt after a lifetime of use (and really good success) with iron sights. I know I'm an asshole, I read and assemble data for a year or more, than have a rifle built that shoots sub-inch groups and swings like a shotgun. My last 450 magnum bear rifle shoots damn near 1 hole groups at 50 yards with iron sights from a bench. I would be PISSED to spend $600 on a sight that failed when with my AR 15 A2 iron sights I can whack a head sized target at 200 yards all the time, with my M1A1 or my M1 Carbines I can make chest shots at 200 yards, all the time. I've never timed it but it never failed me in the real world, I've practiced shooting the 5" centers out of 9" paper plates at 200 yards for over 40 years. Like I said I've never timed iron sight aqusition but I did with my scoped 6mm Remington, 3 shots, 3/8" at 300 yards in 11 seconds prone. I think I'm faster at 200 on a 5" center at 200 yards with my AR, I'll time it this summer for sure now. So please find me one that works and that CAN TAKE A BEATING!
Pointless comparison. Nobody in their right mind is going to fire 4K rounds without a cleaning. That a DI gun can do that questions the justification of spending the extra $ on a piston upper. I get cool factor but real world reliability? The Russian meme "Nyet! Rifle is fine!" comes to mind.

Hard to put back together but net net, any DI I spent more time spitting and cleaning my Oakley sunglasses. DI is easy but it's kind of lazy, what's with people being so dogmatic that they have to make excuses for DI while a hybrid 5.56 long stroke with the benefits of an AR is pretty sensible.

ETHRON1 ammo donations are a bad idea. One a-hole with some bad ammo and you can have some serious issues. A one time Patreon or the like donation is a much better option.
Always run lithium batteries in a sight. I have had brand new Duracell and energizer alkaline batteries leak in the box before using them. Only lithium in a weapon sight.
Oiling the piston rod will cause excessive carbon build up in the gas tube that will form into a concrete like substance. NO LUBE ON THE PISTON!!! This may cease up the gun prematurely, as clearly stated in the operator's manual.
Anyone else notice what looks like distressingly inconsistent ejection right off the bat? I'll admit it could be an optical illusion of the camera angle, but it looks like every 3rd or 5th round went somewhere else. Some even strike the camera tripod during the standing string.

They sent the wrong pistol, the rear night sight was defective, and the holster had contaminates and popped air bubbles in the kydex. All popular name brands.
My 60 dollar TRS 25 has been through hell and back for 8 years with no problems. 600 dollar Steiner can't get through 300 rounds without shitting the bed. Some people will pay ridiculous money just for bragging rights.
I don't trust anything digital. Don't get me wrong, I love my red dots, EOTech prism, but something is going to go wrong at some point. Iron sights may not be perfect but they don't fritz out.

As you said the optic company even said that it wouldn’t work for that distance?! Which is wild to me. Like people are shooting actual handguns at 100 yards. So with a rifle it isn’t that hard.
I wonder how this will compare to my LWRC gas piston 14.7inch SPR. . Ive been running mine since 2014, and for a good 2 year period between 2015-17 i remembered running about 6k ish of rounds without any cleaning or lube. Most of this slow fire at the range, some mag dumps outdoors while plinking. Not sure how much the nickel boron bcg or “LWRC’s proprietary gas piston system played a role in that but still thank you MAC for starting this project.
60 rounds to zero or 3 rounds to zero and 57 rounds to have fun :)? Went away from red dot sights my optics have etched reticles and QD mounts, back up iron sights or at least a small laser to stay having fun. I know that your real defense set up is similar.

Our local Indoor range here in Northern Nevada has a PWS with over 90,000 rounds through it and has never had an issue!

@@roscoep4850 can vouch. My aimpoint PRO hasn’t been spiked into rocks but it has fallen from 7ft heigh shelves straight onto hardwood floors a couple times. Has Been dropped on the ground outside when my rifle falls off from a tree or whatever I lean it against and has been hit against walls/barricades at the range. Whatever voodoo BS that aimpoint does is honestly amazing.
I own 7 (yep, 7) PWS rifles with countless rounds hurtled through them. I have had exactly one thing break: an extractor in a bcg which came from a full auto mk107 demo gun which had cycled thousands of rounds. That's a damn fine sample set, IMO.

Hey Michael, I've got a Windham Arms, a Sign Sauer, and a Daniel Defense. I have two sons in their teens and I wanted them to be guaranteed to have an at platform regardless of the future political situation. They are all more or less in cqb configuration as that was all that was available to n Obama's second term while everyone was buying up EVERYTHING. A2 front sight, removeable handle, short forend, etc. Wish they had the "standard" options that are available now (full length forend, flat top, etc).

Reloading my own ammo has become a goal of mine after this panic emptied the shelves
zmbisniper I would never disparage someone from taking up reloading but don't be surprised when it adds a whole new level of frustrations! (It's still worth it)... Reloading supplies, gear and components have not gone unaffected by the panic buying and increased deman. Heck, even before all this, certain powders and projectiles for some calibers were a PITA to get while similar factory ammo seemed abundant. Like I said though, still worth it, especially if you're a deal hunter!

@@skylined12 This. Though, I've managed to make up some decent performing loads with the more abundant powders available. In my area H335 is super easy to get ahold of. Cfe pistol is readily available as well. I've managed to make up loads for my rifle/pistols with these.

I own PWS Mk116 (1st generation) , my friend had like 6 or 7 of them and used them extensively in his training company. Each and every one had the same problem with bolt (broken lugs) afer around 8000 rounds. One of my friend's rifle also had chamber reces broken. In the US changing bolt in BCG is not a problem. In my country however bolt is a registered firearm part and you have to have permit to own it (as if it was the whole gun). PWS did some service action and I had my bolt replaced "almost" for free. "Almost" because I had to pay some additional money (equivalent of 85-90 USD) for redtape paperwork related to changing registered firearm part. When I saw the title of the video I thought that you broke bolt ;)
@Travers Kilroy Cooper Alvirez Poland, European Union. Believe or not our gun laws are not the worst comparing to other european states :) It was not just bad part. As far as I know many early (Mod 1) PWS rifles had the same problem, that's why PWS did service action.

Just picked up a MK 111 I plan to suppress. It's a dream to shoot and very handy. I love this rifle way more than I thought I would. It's a very interesting system compared to the short stroke. I like that it is more mechanically simple. On reassembly I just flip the rifle over, push the t-handle up to where the piston head detaches, so it rests against the head, and then just line the t-handle up with the notch. It should slide in seamlessly. Took me a half hour of frustration to learn.
My first AR was a PWS MK116 Mod 1. Absolutely still love it👍🏻

Definitely interested to see how well it does. I have 3 PWS rifles and ran one through a two day defensive carbine class. Rained the entire weekend and the rifle was full of water, mud, you name it, and had zero issues through the 600 round course of fire with no cleaning (not that its an excessive round count) A few DI guns had some issues in the downpour on day two with going fully into battery 🤷🏻♂️
Could be the batteries, and not the sight, we shall see on the next video, apart from the let down, it seemed to be a nice sight, coupled with an accurate rifle, catch you in the next one.
I wouldn't stake my reputation on "brand new batteries - so it couldn't be that." I've recently had brand new AA batteries that didn't last long (in my HVAC control unit, of all things).
MrGunsnGear had two of the DRS1x's die on him in a similar fashion I came to find out. He sent me a text after seeing the video on Patreon letting me know he had similar issues with the two he tried. Don't very reassuring.

Damn if there was ever a reason to have BUIS this is a good example. How bout trying out the Holosun 509 next. Got a MK109 in .300 back in 2015. It’s like an AR15 and an AK had a baby. The long stroke piston recoil impulse feels better to me than it’s short stroke competition and man is it so much easier to clean than a DI weapon.
Energizer batteries have had me pulling my gray hair out too. I stopped using their AAA some time ago, perhaps their AA line is having difficulties too.
Professional audio/broadcasters stick with Duracell. Not only do they last .longer, they are actually made to PROPER dimensioms. Yes, some manufacturers, including some energizer factories, actually make their batteries slightly off correct dimensions! It can defintely cause battery malfunctions.

DID YOU FIND OUT WHAT THE PROBLEM WITH THE RED DOT WAS?
As an electrical & HVAC contractor, I have learned the Energizer "Industrial" AA (Yellow Stripe) Are not the same quality as the MAX (Red Stripe) or the Lithium (Blue Stripe).
The industrial batteries do not hold up well with high or low frequently vibration. Dropping them in a mini mag light is also detrimental, oftentimes breaking the internal connections. I prefer to use the Lithium for long term use because they don't seem to leak corrosive fluids. JUST MY 2¢ WORTH.

That ejection was all over the place. Literally from 1 oclock to 430. I know it's not completely indicative of overall performance but yikes.
My Mk116 Mod2-M has never been cleaned and has over 1100 rounds through it (not much) but I have the gas system turned down one notch and it lays all of the brass in nice, small, consistent piles.
I have two of these, one in 7.62x39 (16") and one in 6.5 CM. I don't think you're supposed to lubricate the piston.
Easy fix...buy a HOLOsun for a third of the price and ten times the battery life 😁

I have 4 different PWS rifles, so you can say I’m a fan. In 10 years I’ve had exactly one jam, it was on my Diablo ( the first Gen 5.56 chambered 7 inch barreled SBR ) and it’s happened at minus 12 degrees Fahrenheit. I tried using some tetra gun grease on it in the summer which is a thicker Teflon grease, never had a problem with it and forgot that I had put it in the rifle until I took it apart to check it over after the jam. The grease had frozen solid messing with the cam pin. I shoot them a lot but don’t do very much maintenance, they don’t need it. I shoot them suppressed most of the time and still don’t clean them very often so I’m guessing that the gun you’re testing will go until you get tired of testing it👍👍 insanely accurate rifles. That said, I’m glad to see you testing one because if anyone is going to get a lemon or break one, it’s you.
If it breaks and doesnt come back on, its made of Chinesium. If you tap it and it comes back on, it made of Taiwanisium.
As for batteries, I called direct tv once about my remote not working. They told me to use specific brands of batteries as there were slight differences in the length of them. I thought the person was putting me on, but I experimented and compared some and they were right! It affected the contact points.

That’s why I don’t get people spend all that money on big name brands when most of it components or put together by same manufacturers that produce other budgets optics or scopes, also manufacturer overseas 🤦🏽♂️ yes anything can fail but why spend thousands when you can get something lower cost that does the same.

Neither rifle or optic have been babied. It’s held zero, beautiful glass and a reticle that is outstanding.
Maybe I’m just lucky, but I like the Steiner and if I buy another compact rifle I’ll put another DRS1X on it.
I hope Jason is ok, endurance testing on people is not a good thing, we brake far easier than rifles.

Steiner has a lifetime warranty on all of their products. If the sight is the issue, it'll be fixed.

Was it me or did the lancer mag seem kinda sluggish to get that round in the chamber? Stronger mag spring I'm guessing?
Their feed lips can cause a little extra friction when new or dry. With a little use they stop doing that.
Maybe you could use a Holosun red dot and test the durability

My holosun hasn't done that nor my TRS-25, each with over 3k rounds.

I'm afraid you'll experience a failure much sooner from getting oil on the piston. PWS strongly recommends zero oil forward of the bolt. Otherwise, the oil and carbon build up will form a concrete like substance in the piston tube that will cease up the gun.
I have a lot of confidence the PWS will run every bit as well as the BCM without cleaning, but probably not in this instance. I know you said you won't open the gun again for awhile, but I'd consider doing so just to wipe the oil off the piston. Rifle could fail early, which could give PWS a bad name as a result.

I don't think a light coating of lubrication on the piston will create a sludge. I always put a light coat on mine and experienced no buildup whatsoever. Of course, I also clean my gas tube after a couple thousand rounds. JMHO, YMMV.

After 19:00 you can see just how inconsistent the ejection pattern really is. Hmmm... seems like the range is from 2 o’clock to possibly 430. That strikes me as strange. I’m sure many people would consider this an “acceptable” range of ejection, but with the many rifles I’ve used, I haven’t seen that wide a range of ejection without adjusting the gas system in between shots. My rifles’ ejection pattern typically has a 30 minute variance, not 2-2.5 hours though. Not blaming it all on the rifle though, I’ve experienced some inconsistency with Federal factory target loads. So it most likely has to do with the ammo. I’ve run a couple PWS rifles and they are my good friend’s favorite piston rifle. Neither of us have run into any problems with several thousand rounds down range between us. Thanks for the video! And yeah I’ve been skeptical of that Steiner. For the price, I’d like longer battery life. But I’m a battery life snob. 🤣

It's very difficult for an old timer like me to put one of these sights on a rifle that I've fired for 40 years with iron sights and zero failures and making hits at 300 + yards.
Its not just about hitting, of course. Red dots are proven to give faster aquisition and repeatable hits. Its really undeniable.
@@videodistro I really want to try one and practice with it to see IF I can adapt after a lifetime of use (and really good success) with iron sights. I know I'm an asshole, I read and assemble data for a year or more, than have a rifle built that shoots sub-inch groups and swings like a shotgun. My last 450 magnum bear rifle shoots damn near 1 hole groups at 50 yards with iron sights from a bench.
I would be PISSED to spend $600 on a sight that failed when with my AR 15 A2 iron sights I can whack a head sized target at 200 yards all the time, with my M1A1 or my M1 Carbines I can make chest shots at 200 yards, all the time. I've never timed it but it never failed me in the real world, I've practiced shooting the 5" centers out of 9" paper plates at 200 yards for over 40 years.
Like I said I've never timed iron sight aqusition but I did with my scoped 6mm Remington, 3 shots, 3/8" at 300 yards in 11 seconds prone. I think I'm faster at 200 on a 5" center at 200 yards with my AR, I'll time it this summer for sure now.
So please find me one that works and that CAN TAKE A BEATING!

Hard to put back together but net net, any DI I spent more time spitting and cleaning my Oakley sunglasses. DI is easy but it's kind of lazy, what's with people being so dogmatic that they have to make excuses for DI while a hybrid 5.56 long stroke with the benefits of an AR is pretty sensible.

ETHRON1 ammo donations are a bad idea. One a-hole with some bad ammo and you can have some serious issues. A one time Patreon or the like donation is a much better option.

Always run lithium batteries in a sight. I have had brand new Duracell and energizer alkaline batteries leak in the box before using them. Only lithium in a weapon sight.
Oiling the piston rod will cause excessive carbon build up in the gas tube that will form into a concrete like substance.
NO LUBE ON THE PISTON!!! This may cease up the gun prematurely, as clearly stated in the operator's manual.
Anyone else notice what looks like distressingly inconsistent ejection right off the bat? I'll admit it could be an optical illusion of the camera angle, but it looks like every 3rd or 5th round went somewhere else. Some even strike the camera tripod during the standing string.

My 60 dollar TRS 25 has been through hell and back for 8 years with no problems. 600 dollar Steiner can't get through 300 rounds without shitting the bed. Some people will pay ridiculous money just for bragging rights.
I don't trust anything digital. Don't get me wrong, I love my red dots, EOTech prism, but something is going to go wrong at some point. Iron sights may not be perfect but they don't fritz out.
I really get annoyed and it’s kind of annoying when people act like 250-300 yards is hard. I’m not just picking on you. As you said the optic company even said that it wouldn’t work for that distance?! Which is wild to me. Like people are shooting actual handguns at 100 yards. So with a rifle it isn’t that hard.
I was frustrated with assembly for about a week now I just assemble with receiver upside down makes it a lot easier
I wonder how this will compare to my LWRC gas piston 14.7inch SPR. . Ive been running mine since 2014, and for a good 2 year period between 2015-17 i remembered running about 6k ish of rounds without any cleaning or lube. Most of this slow fire at the range, some mag dumps outdoors while plinking. Not sure how much the nickel boron bcg or “LWRC’s proprietary gas piston system played a role in that but still thank you MAC for starting this project.

Went away from red dot sights my optics have etched reticles and QD mounts, back up iron sights or at least a small laser to stay having fun. I know that your real defense set up is similar.
Well ill for sure never buy that optic..... 300 rounds of 223?! That’s a little more than a combat load. I have a $20 red dot and it has been on since I bought it and hasn’t done anything wrong.
People say, you don't need back-up iron sight. You see, electronic device are just like our smart phones, they could run out of battery or die because of poor quality control. Get a back up iron sight.

I use $200 HoloSun for that very reason. I'd rather be $200 mad than $600 mad😡 I also put BUS on every build just in case.
