Because it seems people still never look at him as an adult but as a boy as if he is a rock that didn't grow up. Transitioning to serious roles is actually great for Leo's career development because it will show how he had evolved in his craft and how he matured in his profession. Otherwise people would continue to view him as a young boy. All actors and actresses dream a serious transition in their crafts and Leo is not an exemption. Personally, I want to see him take more mature roles than cheesy youthful drama to avoid being typecast as a mediocre romantic lead.
