Maan, I can't describe how precious these series are for a new player, I love back to basics so much! I really appreciate your respectful attitude towards the ddk players - leaving them to correct their mistakes, not punishing them on the first available opportunity and choosing your wording carefully when the opp makes a bad move. It is a wonderful opportunity for a new player to comprehend those mistakes better and it also gives a really respectful mindset towards the game and players. Be blessed!
Green: wins. Purplish-red: losses. Bright: vs stronger opponent. Darker: vs weaker opponent. Black background: unranked. Matches the graph & pie chart above.
Ya know.... as I continue to improve from watching your and other internet go guru videos, I want to share one mantra I learned from you that has really helped me lately: "I'm not really an eggs in basket guy." ;) I thought I'd mention that here because of your helpful early notes on flexibility here.... Thanks d.
Is there a reason why this video is not part of the 2020 Basics playlist? I really appreciate your videos. They are helping me (DDK) very much. Sometimes when I play, I have your voice in my head ... corner, sides, center
As a (roughly 12-10k) ddk player on ogs these games really captures what I've been seeing from people there lately: the other player constantly worrying about thwarting whatever I do, throwing down stones like "betcha can't kill this! or this! no, you can't have that...and I betcha can't kill this either!". Thankfully I have been watching your basics for a while and can usually deal with it calmly ^____^
46:20 What about the upper left corner at endgame? I wanted to see how this move doesn't live... An opponent of mind played a similar move and lived in my corner before

nice!
Big brain was right. It just misfired when he played J18 instead of G19. Can happen to anyone.

Good shibano style ddk attempt. All that tasty influence...😸
26:04 Would wN17 also be acceptable here?
can you please make an episode for ddk where you more explain when and how we are strong or weak. It is still hard to see that as a ddk
Real 14 kyu: L5 for life was pretty clear. Basic move.
I see that you like a lot do the shoulder hit, is there any particular reason?
Good for reduction when you want to start with a forcing move, same with expansion
Do you have videos where you teach how to play?
I don't have videos for absolute beginners, but I've been told my basics series helps after you know the rules.
Why was K9 OK in a basic way? It seemed to be "way behind enemy lines"...
In the review he mentioned that it was a misclick, but the opponent's group had many cutting points.
big brain Kappa
Your pretending to be an 11kyu. Playing bad moves is natural!
